Has promise but not ready for Prime Time

The features and simplicity of user experience is really nice with this app. But after spending some time with it, finding issues and researching online, there are many common issues for the last few years that have not been addressed.

Not really a production solution yet and should still be in beta. Issues with SSL certificates, buggy and unusable interface, issues with mixed content http/https and many more.

Again the features are great. If you have time to spend hours or days debugging, maybe this is for you. But this is not a ready solution that you'd typically find from Bitnami solutions.

I used Bitnami to install Ghost on Amazon. I only had to select the right options and ghost was installed in minutes.

    First input AWS credentials

    I used the following options

    T1
Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS (rev. 30, paravirtual)
    Static IP
    Ghost 0.4.2-1

I assigned a custom name to the domain. Much easier than installing directly on EC2

    Poorly documented

Wasted a lot of time setting this up. They changed the way the password is configured upon install without updating the documentation.

The fix suggested by their support team also didn't work. Don't use this installer until they fix these issues, as you won't be able to get it up and running.

ghost itself is still kind of unfinished

Restarting the server every time I changed the theme wasn't very appealing. In itself, the server seemed to work ok. I never got Amazon SES to allow ghost to send any mail, even though I had registered the sender email address. Not sure which address ghost was trying to send mail from.
