Deputy is the easiest time tracking solution!

What do you like best about the product?
Deputy is so easy to use. It really is very intuitive. It took a little while to set it up to begin with, but once I figured it out it was super fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could be a little slicker, but I am just nit picky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were managing hourly employees via paper timesheets previously. It was ridiculously time consuming.

Great scheduling platform

What do you like best about the product?
It is easily accessible! It is very convenient to pick up shifts as well as let them go.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing :D It is a very easy to use application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling problems are easily solved with Deputy! I have been able to pick up work shifts last minute as well as see who I am working with in just one click.

What do you like best about the product?
Deputy helps you keep track of your timesheets and those that you manage. It has a web browser interface that lets you log in from your computer and mobile app to clock in from your Android or iPhone. For HR, you can set a virtual boundary to indicate whether a person is clocking in at the building or away from the building using GPS location.
Deputy was essential during the pandemic when our company decided to allow people to work from home. It simplified the clock-in process and helped managers to ensure employees were on task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just make sure your app is up-to-date for simple usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the pandemic, Deputy allowed our employees to clock in from their own devices versus a shared timeclock. Once our company decided to work from home, we did not have to worry about people on or off the clock.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you use Google/ Gsuite, Deputy easily integrates with it.

Great for scheduling - horrible for analytics

What do you like best about the product?
Apps work great for employees - push notifications are prompt and accurate - scheduling is simple and clear
What do you dislike about the product?
Analytics are terrible. Square integration pulls in a fictional number. Graphical scheduling tools don't reflect any numbers that make sense. Support fails to understand the issues, brushes them off, and looks to avoid any real improvements.

This platform is great if you want to perform the functions of scheduling. Don't trust any of the data it provides, the graphs are likely wrong in every case, and the point of sale integration with Square overstates revenue, making even the simple labor percentage incorrect. If you're chasing data, stay far, far away from this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling team in multiple locations - visualizing work schedules, improved labor costs, and schedule adherence information in a lightweight platform.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature is being able to navigate through m employees easily to check their time cards.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike about Deputy. I have used other time keeping software and it wasn't up to par with Deputy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting time cards approved in a timely manner. The benefit I have realized is knowing whether my employees are clocking in at the job site.

Great Way to Keep Track of Time and Employees

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is for the employees to clock in and out on their phones using the Deputy app. I also really like how easy it is to change the timesheets if someone forgot to clock in or out. It is also really helpful to have different groups/departments so you can keep track of who has been trained and what department they work in. Also, you are able to see the exact location of where the employees have clocked in or out. It is also very nice that I get notifications when employees ask for time off and or leave requests. It is great that you can copy and paste a whole week of the schedule onto the next week.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like how hard it is to find where the groups are and adding employees into it. I think it should be in a more obvious and visible place. I dislike how it will not let me override the error messages I get for the shifts that are copied and pasted from the week before. It will leave the shifts blank and I have to go back and forth from the previous week and manually put in and override the restrictions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of employees and how long they have worked and where they clocked in or out. It is also a great tool for keeping track of what the employees are trained for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for something that is easy to use and has really helpful features for keeping track of employee's time and training then Deputy is perfect for you!

Good, simple tool for timekeeping

What do you like best about the product?
I like Deputy because it integrates easily with Rippling - it auto pushes approved hours to weekly payroll runs, which is an incredible asset that minimizes the opportunity for human error. They have intelligent ways to prevent buddy punching - facial recognition software on kiosk devices. It also has intelligent alerts you can configure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface of Deputy is not very attractive; however, it gets the job done. I wish I could disable particular features altogether (like time off requests) because I have the same functionality covered by other systems. There are a few things that are strange in the Rippling/Deputy integration I would like to change but overall it's a good system. I dislike that I'm unable to make specific user-by-user assignments of how and when they can clock in and out. I have mobile clock ins/outs approved so users can use a worksite kiosk for timecards, however, that also allows them the ability to clock in/out on personal devices which is not in keeping with our desired state.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They allow a few different means for clock ins/outs. You can use mobile devices, an iPad or tablet in kiosk mode, or standard web-based timekeeping through a web browser. We're able to enforce breaks, set up alerts that trigger an approver to look with a more critical eye, and prevent buddy-punching through geofencing and facial recognition software. It's also very easy for managers to adjust timecards manually if there was an error initially.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're integrating with another partner for payroll, make sure you have ample support and commitment from both the partner and Deputy. Once you're out of the setup period, the support at Deputy is lacking but thankfully you don't really need their help frequently.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that this is very accessible on my phone and I can assess my time sheet, future shifts and messages from my boss all on my phone

Sometimes it will take some time to update my schedule even though I already got emails on what my schedule will be
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not really a problem solving app, however I can clock in and it is nice because it tells you how close you are to your work place

Terrible customer service

What do you like best about the product?
Nice UI, easy to use software. Fairly basic for time keeping but seems like it could do the job well and be reliable.

The mobile app also seems very well built and a solid addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
Terrible customer service, sent 3 emails no reply, waited 2 weeks. Went on live chat who didn’t even apologise and said they’d be happy to help instead, so I asked them my questions about GDPR. They simply said to read the security doc on their site for answers. Seriously how lazy can you be? Anyway I’ve already done this, doesn’t have all the answers I need.

I give up trying to be a customer at this point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effectively track employees time remotely. The software does a great job at this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s great software and if you don’t need any support or information on GDPR compliance it’s probably a great product to use.

What do you like best about the product?
Deputy is a simple program and very easy to us! It uses GPS when an employee clocks in, which is great for labor and employee accountability. We are a residential and commercial mechanical contractor with a shop. When it comes to itemizing labor to each location this is the perfect program. When its time for payroll it takes two clicks and it is uploaded to the payroll system. There is a great options on how to export time-sheets as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting on deputy in not set up very well. Also getting a complete list of locations you have to get from the help team. Deputy needs a multi-archive button for locations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using multiple locations has been so easy with deputy! I love the integration with ADP. When you enter a new employee in ADP it automatically uploads it through Deputy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a time card application that is simple this is it! I recommend this to anyone in the plumping, repair, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, construction, or any company who does service calls!
