    Security and Investigations

Excellent software, more capabilities than I anticipated.

What do you like best about the product?
I initially was interested in Deputy for it's scheduling ease, but have increasingly found more and more benefits that have permitted me to address other matters pertaining to the business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything about Deputy that I feel needs improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can export hours for the various job areas for invoicing purposes quickly on a weekly basis. Being able to record and track training certifications for each employee is a welcomed benefit that I didn't realize was available when I initially subscribed to Deputy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it, the product support is excellent. I had a one on one webinar with a Deputy expert for 1.5 hours before I committed to the software.

Great program

What do you like best about the product?
It has allowed me to roster staff over various locations including staff that work off site or have 'flex' hours
What do you dislike about the product?
It wont allow me to copy over days that have multiple shifts on them together. (if doing manually)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accurate rostering and time clocking for staff across various locations. Staff being able to swap shifts amongst themselves is great.

What do you like best about the product?
The admin team has commented on how much more time they have now that casuals don't have to call in to check their roster. This means that my planner is also not wasting time fielding phone calls. It also really helps having all of the training and licences in one easy field so I can match people with the right skills to the right taks.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I need to cancel a shift in deputy, the notification isn't sent to the casual, I have to call them to advise. Sometimes this can be an issue If we get sidtracked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes the whole rostering system a lot more efficient. Payroll can also log in and see when casuals have worked to verify correct cost centre, as well as verify hours of work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very user friendly, for business users as well as our employees. I like how it works on unavailabilities which makes it easier to schedule staff for work, especially around school holidays and public holidays.

Deputy is for scaling

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to scale to many locations. We started with 1 location and 18 employees and scaled to 4 locations and 100+ employees. Deputy honestly made it easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs tighter integration with square. There’s integration. But it wasn’t super intuitive.

Time saving and user friendly tool

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way you are able to manage employees and tasks in an ordered manner, the scheduling is simple and once you practice and play with it, you will find this software very helpful in regards to scheduling. We now have two companies using this system. Take the time to set up correctly and dont rush set up, take time to train employees in the easy app. It picks up scheduling errors and makes it easy to change, tracking leave and days off is also very easy
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be beneficial to be able to schedules all shifts over several weeks at once. the confirmation code on the mobile should not be case sensitive, as we spent a day trying to figure out why peoples' acceptance did not register, as mobile phones capitilise the first letter, and having to change it to lower case it an extra task that i don't think is needed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This app has stopped errors in booking casual staff incorrectly, it has also allowed communication between the office to the staff to improve as the comments are really helpful with clear instructions. It is making keeping track of bookings so much easier and it is clear what is happening each day and what training is being delivered and by whom, which makes running a small company easier. It also means that if I am away or busy, the other administrators are able to make changes and create shifts without having to rely on myself.

Save time and money scheduling!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the user intuitive interface the most. Deputy is a simple and effective scheduling that has saved me over 30 hours a week.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to reports for a quarter or a year. Currently there are a myriad of reports, but only for a week long time period. Recently Deputy has added a "report builder" but I have yet to test this feature...here's hoping!

Due to the nature of the work done, location management can be tricky. There is not a way to update all training requirements en masse to all locations with a simple click. (Training can be added to users in batches though).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Employee absenteeism. Previously, there was really no hard and fast way to know whether or not employees were arriving on time. The whole calendar relied a lot on the honour system. Most employees are honest and do the right thing, but it becomes difficult when a few do not. Deputy's clock in system utilized GPS tracking and time stamps on the employee's mobile device. As soon as employees see there location on a map, they know they have to have arrived to clock in and don't bother trying to cheat. Also the notification center alerts me instantly when someone is late for a shift, so it is super helpful for cleaning up many negative employee behaviours. This created a culture of accountability and easily tracked expectations. One thing Deputy may want to consider are positive incentivization packages such as gamification options.

Deputy saves a lot of time by doing the mental calculations for me. For example I have 25 employees who can go to a possible 108 sites. Each employee can only go certain places. When I schedule I have to take into consideration who can go where and who needs what service. This takes a lot of time. Location's and user preferences for locations are all set up, so that I can see who is available for a given area from a drop down list without have to think about it myself. I just pick from the available resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at all the options and decide what you need most for your business. Deputy is a great tool, at a reasonable cost that can help you manage your workforce by saving you a lot of time and frustration. Call and speak with a service person, they will set up everything and you can try it before you buy it!

Easy scheduling for a highly variable environment

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to enter shifts that I need to schedule staff for ahead of time makes it is easy to visualize when all of the positions I need have been filled.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are kind of a lot of pop-ups asking for reviews when I am trying to be productive...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized how easy it can be to keep track of time sheets and pay scales in one place rather than having various spreadsheets, and email or phone conversations.

This program makes it easy to schedule staff, and visualize your needs to each day

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of the Deputy is the possibility of sharing posts or events. Also the scheduling features are awesome: comprehensive and easy to use.

Sometimes the app is being slower than I would like it to be.

The scheduling process is way less demanding and all the changes can be done in real time.

What do you like best about the product?
This program can be adapted from the most simple payroll/timeclock needs to very complex set ups with multiple locations and states.

The minimized chat icon obscures info on the screen
