Absolute Garbage - Don't Believe the Hype
What do you like best about the product?
There's nothing good about this product, and I would avoid it. The concept of it is pretty great, but the execution is abysmal. It's garbage, and Riverside should not be charging money for a useless product.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is supposed to be a professional tool for podcasters who do interviews, but the tool DOES NOT work.
I've had video editors help me with editing my video podcast, and they told me that the audio drift is unbelievable. The frame rates don't make sense, and it's a serious headache to sync up audio/video.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's an extremely garbage product, and the customer service is equally as garbage.
App would indiscriminately stop video and audio
What do you like best about the product?
Nothing as I was never able to record a full session
What do you dislike about the product?
completely unreliable and made me look incompetent in front of potential clients
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted a reliable platform to record Podcasts. Had to go to another platform for that.
Great customer service!
What do you like best about the product?
Overall the platform does what I need for podcasting with multiple guests for audio and video. Video and sound quality is great compared to Zoom where the audio and video timing are off.
The customer service I received from Pat was amazing, was very patient, answered everything I had and stuck around to make sure I had all the answers I needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
Streaming features with LinkedIn are not as seamless as Streamyard, I would love to only use Riverside vs having to use both. 1 for podcasting and one for streaming to LinkedIn Live.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending guests to a studio environment where everything is handy that does not feel like a conference call. Because audio and video quality is so much better it reduces my editing time.
Riverside is a game changer!
What do you like best about the product?
I love it's simplicity and the high quality you get by using the platform. I wouldn't use any other platform. It's is simply the best one out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like is something I am not they can help - which is guests dropping off during interviews also that the streaming platforms don't play ball
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of ease when podcasting - the user experience is great, it easy for non techies to use and it creates great audio/video
Unusable Audio Quality and No Usable Support
What do you like best about the product?
The layout and interface is better than Zencastr but...
What do you dislike about the product?
The "uncompressed" "high quality" WAV files are unusable in a professional setting. In addition, there is no user support; just an off-shore chat option that takes way too long to get connected to. When you do connect, they are not actually technical support but only provide cut-and-paste answers from their script that would indicate that they don't understand the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was purchased to facilitate the remote recording of talent, but the audio quality is not usable in a professional environment.
Lately, the UI experience has been very frustrating.
What do you like best about the product?
Records audio files locally. Better quality
What do you dislike about the product?
Poor documentation, interface support lacking, audio file downloads changed making it to difficult to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for remote podcast recording
Super unreliable product
What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to use (when things work)
What do you dislike about the product?
For a product that needs to be bulletproof, Riverside is way too unreliable. I've lost several recordings to a number of different errors, and countless hours of my time to fix or re-record them. Absolutely not fit for purpose.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to record our podcasts.
This has wasted hours of my life
What do you like best about the product?
when it works it's great cause I can use all channels and recordings that come separately.
What do you dislike about the product?
so frustrating. gives me laggy video that I don't know happened til after the interview, switches mics without warning, bricks out my computer. recording has random echoing. all this stuff you find out after the recordings and you get no warning that your magical podcast interview is actually not usable or you really have to edit a lot for it to be ok
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
podcast recordings that are recorded locally so you don't have the super compression you get on zoom sometimes. the only problem is you have a whole lot of other problems
Client side app stopped recording without warning - it screwed me
What do you like best about the product?
I didn't like the app - it let me down in the most terrible way possible... it stopped recording mid-interview without warning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked finding out later that the app stopped recording and that it didn't notify me there was a problem.
I especially didn't like having to tell my best client the interview was screwed.
Separately, I disliked the unnecessary video compression.
The client-side recording in 4K has visible compression artefacts when there's camera movement - just no need.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside.fm gave me problems, it didn't solve them
Great Tech!
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is really clean and easy but the rock star part is that it is recording at the best quality that can be recorded by everyone's device/phone/web cam. The highest quality video is so necessary and other platforms do not use that. Then you add in that it is very affordable, keeps your library in the cloud and can be accessed quickly. it works!
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are using a phone to record you do need the app. Also, huge problem, you cannot tell if a person recording on the phone is in vertical or landscape mode. I have got burned by that before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to record interviews where the producer is off-camera. This is so easy for the guests to use it does not scare them away from shooting with us.
