    Information Technology and Services

This has wasted hours of my life

  • August 05, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
when it works it's great cause I can use all channels and recordings that come separately.
What do you dislike about the product?
so frustrating. gives me laggy video that I don't know happened til after the interview, switches mics without warning, bricks out my computer. recording has random echoing. all this stuff you find out after the recordings and you get no warning that your magical podcast interview is actually not usable or you really have to edit a lot for it to be ok
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
podcast recordings that are recorded locally so you don't have the super compression you get on zoom sometimes. the only problem is you have a whole lot of other problems

Client side app stopped recording without warning - it screwed me

  • August 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I didn't like the app - it let me down in the most terrible way possible... it stopped recording mid-interview without warning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked finding out later that the app stopped recording and that it didn't notify me there was a problem.

I especially didn't like having to tell my best client the interview was screwed.

Separately, I disliked the unnecessary video compression.
The client-side recording in 4K has visible compression artefacts when there's camera movement - just no need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside.fm gave me problems, it didn't solve them

Great Tech!

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is really clean and easy but the rock star part is that it is recording at the best quality that can be recorded by everyone's device/phone/web cam. The highest quality video is so necessary and other platforms do not use that. Then you add in that it is very affordable, keeps your library in the cloud and can be accessed quickly. it works!
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are using a phone to record you do need the app. Also, huge problem, you cannot tell if a person recording on the phone is in vertical or landscape mode. I have got burned by that before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to record interviews where the producer is off-camera. This is so easy for the guests to use it does not scare them away from shooting with us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
GIve it a try - it is worth the price!

The Best Podcast Recording Software

  • March 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Riverside is the easiest tool to record podcasts and videos in studio quality (I mean video and audio quality) from anywhere with just the browser and local recording up
to 4K video resolution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to hate about Riverside. Maybe just a minor fix with the audio quality since there are times when the audio needs to be edited or remixed due to some echoing. Hopefully, Riverside can detect that during recording and warn/advise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The overall production of the podcast is rooted in the audio and video output from Riverside. This is the foundation of the podcast. Even when the internet connection is poor while recording, the video quality will always be smooth and freeze-free.

Game Changer

What do you like best about the product?
The tool has improved significantly over the past year, and it is constantly being updated to improve it. A solid staff committed to continuous improvement, which is not usually the case with SaaS businesses. To me, this is a huge thing!
What do you dislike about the product?
One of my only gripes was that it was rather pricey at first since I have been using it. I can only use it with chrome right now. Another tiny gripe is at the fps limit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an entrepreneur, I'm well aware that managing mistakes frequently defines us. Riverside.fm has provided excellent customer service. So far, all of the errors have been mine. Despite this, they've been patient, helpful, and prompt in resolving any issues I've encountered.

Great app for podcast enthusiast

What do you like best about the product?
I like the possibility of marrying podcast audio with podcast video on the same site. This makes it a great alternative to podcast enthusiasts and beginners who look for a creative start.
What do you dislike about the product?
I´m a little thrown back because of pricing; it is a little bit expensive for a complete beginner who looks forward to building an online presence on different platforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was a little bit slow on my content creation workflow because I was the only person involved with the process, so it took me much time to perform all duties due to my project, Riverside solved my problem with time, everything was much easier

Record high quality live streams with multiple people for your podcast

  • January 07, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What sold me was that it was one of the first solutions for recording separate native audio tracks for podcast guests. Riverside has since improved its platform, adding some quick video editing tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are issues with remote guests getting their complete audio track synced and uploaded, but it was solved by reminding guests that they must leave their browser open until it's done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am producing higher-quality audio for my remote podcasts. Other video conferencing tools like Skype and Hangouts produce "watery" sound for guests over the internet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is also a mobile app for guests who cannot gain access to a computer for your stream/recording/show.

Excellent Product, Unparalleled Customer Service

What do you like best about the product?
Riverside's wav quality files and sleek user interface make my client-facing job easy. I provide them with quality mics and headphones, they provide the content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the price point was lower, but I appreciate the tiered options. I also wish they could figure out a way around wonky internet connections, but that's on the ISP end of things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a podcast producer. The separate wav files for each speaker allows for a seamless sound and easy editing. I can manage multiple projects and clients in a single platform.

Stay away from this buggy product

  • November 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Getting started was simple, the interface was ok
What do you dislike about the product?
Buggy!! I recorded my first episode:
* Delays during session recording - I was asking a question, and I saw how my guest kept talking for five more seconds until reacting to my inquiry.
* No mic-bleed detection - apparently, first comers, be it the speaker or guest, can have equipment issues. The platform should have detected this mic-bleed issue which manifests itself as an echo of the guest in your soundtrack (or vice versa), you left recording a full hour before finding out! You would expect their getting started guide to recommend a test drive before any guest recording - nope.
* Internet backup recordings - they are a mess: jumbled, missing parts, speedy parts - a big unusable mess.

Stay away
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wanted to record my pod-cast hassle-free

Best option out there to record virtual interviews/podcasts

  • November 09, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All the guest needs to do is click on a link, join the call and the producer/host can do all the rest. The recordings are made natively, meaning that there will be no internet distortion on your recording. another plus, you get to click on the magic editor and you have a finished video file within minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's only available/compatible to be used on Google Chrome. This is a major drawback for me since some of my guests are not very tech-savvy and/or won't have the time to go download google chrome just to join my interview. Another issue I've found is that once you're in the call, you're not allowed to change the roles of the people in that call. can't change the producer role to a guest so that I can allow them to be in the recording.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We interview people from all over the country using riverside.fm for our podcast. Helps us save time and allows us to connect with more people and bring more content to our platform. Despite the need of having to use google chrome, is still the best option available out there to perform this task
