Excellent quality, very user-friendly

What do you like best about the product?
The user experience of Riverside has been so straightforward for me. I use it for recording conversations with people across the world for a podcast, and I feel like the interface and software is perfectly primed for this - from bringing my guests into the recording, to the quality of the recordings themselves, even when the internet connection is a little sketchy. I am also excited about the new editing options the platform is now offering.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is literally nothing I dislike at this point in time!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside is an awesome recording platform for podcast interviews when I need the interface to be easy for myself and for guests, and for the sound quality to be ace. In addition to this, having an instant transcript and editing facility is a bonus so that I don't then need to move to another platform for post-production.

A Content Creation Platform for Ecommerce Marketing That Saves You Time

  • August 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a CMO managing marketing for our ecommerce platform, Riverside has been an amazing product for creating professional video and audio content. It’s local recording also provides great sound quality which is really important for our product videos and weekly podcast episodes. The interface is easy to use, and I have shot easy-to-edit promotional videos or conducted interviews with designers without much technical knowledge. Users absolutely enjoy the effortless link-based access, which has been a game-changer when working with influencers or remote team members. The two audio and video files separate is a massive time saver (huge!) and help us a lot in doing small fine tuning for audio levels or even video framing. One of the standout features is the transcription tool which lets us turn podcast content into blog posts or social media captions in no time at all. Riverside integrates with the different tools we use for work (Trello for projects, dropbox etc..) so sharing of content is easy. Customer Service is quick and responsive, usually answer questions within a few hours. We work in Riverside nearly every day to make marketing materials, and its powerful feature set accommodates everything from fast-turnaround social media clips to more polished video campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that exporting of larger files is a bit slow, I can wait minutes for a video to export which does not work as we have a high-content, fast product schedule. The AI-powered clip generator, while useful, sometimes churns out snippets that are slightly off-tone or paced, and adjustments have to be made manually. I also would've liked to see more advanced visual customization features in the base plan -- e.g. branded overlays or dynamic transitions -- without the need to pay for a premium upgrade. These are quibbles, but they’d smooth the experience even more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves the problem of producing high-quality, scalable video and audio content for our ecommerce marketing. We need to cut through the noise of the crowded design space with compelling product videos and thought leadership podcasts, and Riverside makes it possible without an expensive budget or production team. Its local recording means we get crystal clear audio and video even when recording with a remote guest (a necessity in our case, as we make vendor interviews worldwide). The ease of use for me is that I am able to record campaign teasers or podcast intros personally, but what it makes it easy for our team is the separate tracks makes editing incredibly easy, for us to polish out audio issues such as echo or sync video. And the transcription feature saves hours by automatically transcribing the captions we also use for other content like Instagram Reels, LinkedIn videos and blogs. This productivity has allowed us to publish content at an accelerated clip, enabling us to bolster customer engagement and increase brand level of confidence at a low production cost.

Riverside is efficient, professional and user-friendly

What do you like best about the product?
Riverside has evolved into a very streamlined, efficient, professional and intuitive platform for recording videos. I appreciate the tutorial videos, articles and if needed the LIVE chat support desk. Finally taking advanatage of the AI editing features which is amazing. The option to convert it into a short video for other platforms is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes navigating throughout the dashboard or home page, it difficult to find which Take or Recording I want to edit. The layout seems "busy" at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recording professional, edited and polished videos for YouTube, next on the list is Linkedin and the the shorts for Instagram. My videos look like a producer created/edited them.

A Strategic Asset for Enterprise Media Production and Editing

What do you like best about the product?
Generally speaking, Riverside's major benefit to a CIO is its very efficient but still simple editing workflow. The isolated audio, and video tracks that it produces at a high standard of quality are the basis. Our communications department is able to do all the post-production works by themselves using this software without having to spend a lot of money on external agencies. The quality of the isolated WAV files is such that they manage to remove background noise from a poorly recorded environment without that empty, over-processed type of sound that you usually get from other platforms. For videos, our editors get full freedom to do whatever they want with the original 4K files. Some of the inbuilt like a text-based editor is very smart and fast for the turnaround, which means it is perfect for internal communicative arrangements. The nice thing about it is that the time needed for the team to get familiar with the software is very little.
What do you dislike about the product?
The advanced AI editing features that might customer's passion, and resources of the company-brand, they are not of the level that the company might depend full on them for the external content. The company relies on AI for initial draft work. The human editor then works the final touches on the output. Plus, as a user, I think it would be pretty cool if the editor got support for more enterprise-class project management features, allowing effortless collaboration even among a large number of editors and reviewers while working on the same project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside is the solution to two fundamental problems: money and time. We have practically cut the number of times we must send the executives' webinars and investors' updates to post-production in order to finally obtain the product we want in half. The period that a third party used to take for editing and returning, today our internal team is taking only a few hours. The crispness of the audio has alone been a major factor in the professionalism of our communication, and the ability to shorten long recordings into quick and social-media-ready video clips has been the trick to garnering more audience for, and thus, more value from, the events that we’ve held.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of editing my own episodes. Back in the day I had to hire an editor. It was a barrier for me to continue and I quit. Now, I can easily edit my own episodes and the Magic Clips and the AI of that where I can direct my own clips...amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! I love it all! I wouldn't change a thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time to get editing done and the tech issue with having on a guest.

A Dependable, High Quality Recording Platform That Cuts Down On Our Support Tickets

  • August 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an IT Support Specialist, it's refreshing that Riverside simply works without having to troubleshoot constantly. Local recording also means we don't start to panic when we receive calls from presenters working on a dodgy internet connection. The intuitive interface means less training - most people pick it up straight away, and our documentation requests have fallen by 60%. If and when things do go wrong, having the comprehensive error logs means I can very easily tell you if something is a network error, user error – or if there’s just something wrong with the platform. The recordings in the organization I get to see all recordings for the org, this comes in handy for troubleshooting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the automatic updates can be a bit confusing as they just kind of change without warning. The system requirements could be more clarified – we've seen some older laptops struggling to handle 4K recordings. They have a very thorough support site, but it is a bit much to take in if you just have some basic troubleshooting - I have written a pared down FAQ that you can check out for some common problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside has cut our A/V support need in half. Drop 20 out of 20 times we’d spend hours troubleshooting Zoom recordings with sync or quality problems, Riverside recordings are always good. Because the platform’s so stable, I went from dealing with 5-10 webinar disasters a week to perhaps a single disaster every few months! And when we have run into trouble, the independent audio/video tracks often allow us to rescue something serviceable. For it help desks tired of being the "webinar help desk," Riverside is a revelation.

The Secret Weapon of Scaling Our Ecommerce Video Content

  • August 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As CEO of a high traffic ecommerce brand, Riverside has become our not so secret weapon for high quality professional product videos at scale. Each product detail is perfectly captured in 4K clarity – essential for demonstrating texture, craftsmanship, or function, to online consumers. What really makes Riverside unique is the way it integrates our workflow at every level of production. Our marketing team is able to record 20+ product demos in a single afternoon and they save them all as separate audio and video tracks, making it simple to edit. Here’s what helps: An AI-based clipping tool that makes it easy to extract TikToks and Instagram shorts from longer videos; a tight link to our Shopify storefront that means new videos go live when we want them to instead of days after the fact.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app could be better for on-site shooting, when we shoot our products in studio / warehouse we would like to use the mobile phone as the camera but it lacks some key features such as proper control over the lighting adjustments. The analytics could be more sophisticated to measure exactly how videos are effecting conversion rates (currently we monitor this within Google Analytics). While the editing tools are useful for quick cuts, we still export to Final Cut for more polished campaigns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pre-Riverside, getting product videos made was our largest content bottleneck. Professional shoots involved days costing $5,000+ and weeks of editing. Today, our in-house team makes 10x more video at a fraction of the cost. And most importantly… we’re driving real business results – more than 23% of the time, products with Riverside videos convert at a higher rate than those with static images – plus, they’re returned 15% less frequently. In our industry, the ability to almost instantaneously record and make genuine, high quality recordings has become a major competitive advantage.

Great tool for remote podcast recording.

  • August 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quality of recordings and control of settings for participants. It's easy to use and doesn't require a manual.
What do you dislike about the product?
Verticle image of guests often cuts them off. Horizontal image would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to host a remote podcast and record each participant separately.

Enterprise-Grade Security Meets Media Production -- Finally

  • August 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the most impressive zero-trust architectures for media workflows is at Riverside for a Cloud Security Engineer. Local-first recording model means content will never leave your device — audio/video are AES 256 encrypted at rest on endpoints until they are uploaded to our designated S3 buckets. Helped us to pass and save 300 hundreds of hours on vendor security reviews by utilizing the SOC 2 Type II & ISO 27001 Compliance. Especially the SCIM provisioning through Okta that allows us to enforce RBAC policies over 200+ webinar hosts. The immutable audit logs for all recording sessions (including participant join/leave time-stamps) have been a compliance requirement lifesaver. Both the Terraform provider to manage workspaces, as well as SigV4 authentication for API calls from a DevSecOps angle fits in well with our current AWS platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, we still see a gap here with the lack of customer-managed encryption keys (BYOK) for stored recordings and those most sensitive use cases. Although a client with attested boot measurements (to ensure client integrity) can be accomplished with the browser, the local recording is significantly less threat-prone. In addition, we have found a few small session token expiration windows in the mobile apps that can be addressed with custom IAM policies. The VPC peering support for private media transfers is still in beta, so we have been running temporary NAT gateways during large scale events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminated 3rd-party media processing, a $85k/year risk avoidance in compliance overhead

Watermarked recordings + immutable logs: slashed 40% from the cost of discovered in legal discovery with (p.109) — Forensic Readiness

Secure Scaling — Automated provisioning to support 500+ concurrent secure sessions for earnings calls

Answers the DevSecOps Alignment: API is used to support our GitOps workflow for policy-as-code deployments.
