Great Platform for Scaling SEO
What do you like best about the product?
BrightEdge does a great job providing clear, concise data in an easy to understand UI. Like many SEOs, content creators and owners are not within the same team, so ensuring that these users can understand and prioritize content creation with SEO best practices in mind is critical, and I think that BrightEdge has always done a good job elevating these metrics making them actionable for the greater content teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
An area where BrightEdge can improve is through buyer journeys. I'd like to see content and corresponding KPIs visually structured in a way that lets users prioritize based on user experience on and off my website - focusing less on specific keywords but more on the entire thought process and potential searches that take plan to reach content- especially with voice search now bringing more long-tail keywords with low search volume, than less keywords with high search volume.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been spending most of my time understanding and monitoring keywords that drive awareness of our product solutions - influencing content creation, and on the flip side using BrightEdge to uncover terminology used for our existing product content for optimization. I continue to use BrightEdge to track and monitor our "high value" keywords that are driving the majority of organic traffic to the site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know exactly why SEO is important for your bsuiness, and what success looks like. BrightEdge can help set a path to a defined goal. BrightEdge can be an overwhelming tool for those that don't have specific KPIs - knowing what you want will allow BrightEdge to help get you there.
The tools and the reporting to make SEO real for our clients.
What do you like best about the product?
The tools are obviously very helpful. However, I like the reporting best. It's a great way to show our clients that SEO is not magic and it works for their business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could use my agency email to access all my clients accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrightEdge helps us prove real value to our clients and their business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
BrightEdge is continually updating their tools. If you'd like an SEO tool, that is expanding beyond optimizations to content management and other workflows, BrightEdge should be part of your consideration set.

What do you dislike about the product?
When announcing new features for the platform, wish they would be clearer about release timelines, availability, and pricing. They build pretty innovative functionality but it's not always available without additional fees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have significantly improved our organic search presence, site traffic, and lead volume.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with any solution, implementing it will not automatically make your SEO better. It takes work, but it is doable for a small team to make a large impact using this set of tools.
Every SEO Metric Needed in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
Wow - where do I begin? I like the depth of tools that are in BrightEdge. Anything from keyword tracking to organic traffic (internationally as well), to content evaluation. The tool tells you what you need to do to the page in order to rank better and also provides insight to what the competitors are doing. The latest enhancement provides a really great technical audit that is completely customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are releasing so many new enhancements to the tool that it is hard to keep up!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of organic traffic - this tool allowed me to find better competitive keywords and then properly optimize on page and off page to get better traffic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I had looked at all other enterprise SEO tools out there and evaluated them thoroughly. Don't let anyone tell you different. This is by far the best tool out there!

Researching keywords for a corporate blog to build an editorial calendar and optimize content for page rank.
Making SEO Manageable
What do you like best about the product?
A modest and responsive UI design I can stretch it over my two screens. The UI is minimal, simple and clean.
Colours have been designed and UI organised to allow both for extended screen time use, or for quick glances.
Interactive help windows with pop up with functionality selection, and access help videos directly from the interface without losing where you were.

What do you dislike about the product?
Tried very hard to answer this question but to no avail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding additional keyword and topic opportunities that enable me to expand my site and capture new traffic, tracking and dashboards, and correctly attributing the channel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A bad tradesman always blame his tools, so to get the most out of Brightedge make sure you invest time to familiarize yourself and understand the platform, knowing the support team -second to none- has your back, and the research team is on top of the ever-changing search landscape. A true partnership, where the possibilities are endless.

What do you like best about the product?
This is the real deal when it comes to competitive and digital intelligence. BrightEdge has built a key business driver for marketers - especially in the ecommerce, financial and technology industries.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not 100% intuitive where to start without some hand holding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rich understanding of keyword opportunities, site structure errors and opportunities, and competitive content opportunities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly intelligent product and team.
Their customer service has been outstanding.
What do you like best about the product?
We use the detailed reporting every day to make optimization decisions. I appreciate their willingness to help us set up dashboards and walk us through what they are seeing that will impact us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the information is great, the graphs and the way it is presented is not visually appealing and difficult to use in an executive summary ppt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using BrightEdge to help us benchmark against our competitors, understand the search landscape and optimize our content and pages accordingly. We have been able to increase our share of voice and adjust what keywords we optimize for to stay inline or ahead of our competition.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In evaluating BrightEdge make sure you understand the data cube and the Content IQ functions in detail and their advantages. They are two of the stronger areas within the platform for actionable information.
18 Years of Scaling SEO with BrightEdge (Enterprise Perspective)
What do you like best about the product?
Having spent three years managing SEO at Symantec, a decade managing SEO at Adobe and the last five years leading organic growth at Gusto, I’ve seen the SEO platform landscape shift repeatedly. Through all the industry volatility—from the death of exact-match keywords to the rise of AI-driven SGE—BrightEdge has remained my primary "source of truth."
The most underrated benefit of BrightEdge is its ability to provide long-tail historical data. During my ten years at Adobe, having a platform that could track global, multi-domain performance without losing data integrity was vital. Transitioning to Gusto, I found that same reliability. For an SEO leader, the ability to show "then vs. now" over several years—not just months—is how you win buy-in from the C-suite.
If you are moving from a mid-market tool to BrightEdge, the Data Cube is a revelation. Its ability to perform instant competitive research and identify content gaps is unmatched in its breadth. At Gusto, we’ve used it extensively to pivot our content playbook, moving beyond simple keyword targeting into intent-based clusters.
StoryBuilder is where the "magic" happens for reporting. In a large organization, nobody wants a spreadsheet. They want a narrative. StoryBuilder allows me to create visually compelling dashboards that translate technical SEO metrics (like Share of Voice and Page Reporting) into business outcomes. It bridges the gap between the SEO team and the broader marketing department.
BrightEdge has consistently stayed ahead of the curve. Their Share of Voice (SoV) reporting is the most accurate I’ve used, allowing us to see exactly who is winning the digital shelf in the competitive Fintech and HR-tech space. More recently, their focus on AI and automation—specifically around Page Speed and Schema through Autopilot—has helped us solve technical bottlenecks that usually get stuck in the engineering backlog.
One of the reasons I have used BrightEdge for 18+ years is the account team. At this level of enterprise software, you aren’t just buying a tool; you’re buying a partnership. Whether it was the complex, global requirements at Adobe or the high-growth, agile needs at Gusto, the BrightEdge team has been proactive in helping us "see around corners" regarding Google algorithm updates.

What do you dislike about the product?
This is a tough one to answer - especially since "dislike" is a required field and I need 40-characters minimum to fill in the space :) I am satisfied with everything I get out of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In large-scale environments like Symantec, Adobe and Gusto, the primary challenge is data fragmentation and "tool fatigue." When you’re managing thousands of pages, tracking organic performance across multiple teams (content, engineering, and product) often leads to siloed data and a lack of clear ROI for SEO initiatives.
Improve your content with Brightedge Content Performance
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to build multiple stories and keyword groups makes it so much easy to focus on just one set of campaigns at a time and even from the point of report you can share your Brightedge dashboards directly with others or just share a png of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
API documentation is a little difficult to comprehend at first, it was for me personally but I am sure that is only an issue when your working on APIs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
report campaign performance and best rank data to stake holders and see which landing pages actually improved with time and back.
