A very good product, with lots of features to take advantage of

What do you like best about the product?
A great team to work with! No matter which business area we speak to we get a great experience, they are all great people. The product itself is also very good, far better than other API gateways I've used in the past
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of. In the past we have witenssed some bugs which have sneaked thought their testing process but this has happened much less on v3.0.8 and 4.0.3 (so far)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest one we had was giving us a feature which allowed API producers to identfy the Gateway as a client using digital signatures, In most cases in the past this has been done using SSL verification but some Dev's dont want to utilise this tecnology. This was a great collabortive effort from both Tyk and my team.

Good product with very good customer service

What do you like best about the product?
Tyk support and account management do an excellent job at taking into account customers needs. We got the chance to be involved in design stages for features such as Dynamic Client Registration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fix times for issues are not always great. From a user perspective this can be frustrating at times. In the past, timelines for fixes were not always clear. However, this has improved lately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apart from the generic benefits of a an API Management Platform, we appreciate the easy extensibility through plugins and middleware that can be developed in multiple languages.

I'm an engineer / developer (as opposed to sales/management) and Tyk is easy to understand.

What do you like best about the product?
Extensibility, ease of understanding, feature-set
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of clear documentation, not enough YouTube Videos
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protect my APIs, enable adoption of OAuth for all my API authentication, speed of run-time, control over APIs that my company monetizes

Fantastic product, even better relationship and support

What do you like best about the product?
The tyk platform allows us a consolidated and secure front-of-house for our APIs, from the ultra modern, all the way back to our most legacy (20+y/o) APIs, and it works every time.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've not really experienced any down sides, there are more features available that we haven't yet had the time or resource to look in to using. There is a bit of a learning curve around policy and key management but Tyk are incredibly hands-on when it comes to additional support for customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Authh consolidation - we have lots of APIs built through various generations of technology and each comes with its own unique auth mechanism, tyk allows us to consolidate without changing underlying architectures.

Offloading of 'tedious' code.. there are a few examples of features that historically our developers would have had to implement within our api's which are now completely handled by tyk.. CORS, rate limiting etc.

Brilliant product from a company that really cares.

What do you like best about the product?
They really care about their customers and go out of their way to ensure their product is delivering.

Ongoing product Development has also been great with frequent new features which are always included and never held back behind a pay wall.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have any complaints. I've hit the occasional bug but no platform is bug free, in all cases their support has always responded and helped resolve the issues promptly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tyk has allowed us to better utilise our own API's standardising their consumption and ensuring a consistent security posture.

We've also extended Tyk to encompass external API's allowing us a simple way to build elements of external API's into our own.

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and ability to provide everything from version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
API rights for a certain key can't be revoked / disabled temporarily
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Authentication, authorization and throttling is working very well

Very simple to use, very powerful, works great with Kubernetes

What do you like best about the product?
Tyk is easy to set up, easy to integrate, support GraphQL and works excellent on K8s.
The best dashboard out of any we tried.
The docs are solid, and there is a significant and responsive community to help out when things get stuck.
The support service is excellent, def recommend taking that up. Helpful when planning to move to production.
What do you dislike about the product?
The included Dev Portal is pretty basic. I haven't tried the Enterprise Portal, so I can't comment.
The cloud pricing is open, but you need to speak with sales to get pricing for the self-hosted stuff; that's annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for securing and versioning an extensive estate of APIs. So much more straightforward and stable to run a microservice architecture than trying to do it manually. The integration with CI/CD removes a lot of pain from the programme.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The engineers on pre-sales are an excellent source to get bootstrapped with makes sense to get a free account on the SaaS before going further. The tutorials are worth doing, esp if you are new to GraphQL in this context
