Jump Cloud is very helpful in terms of security and easier to manage

  • August 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely loved the Single Sign-On (SSO) feature in JumpCloud
What do you dislike about the product?
Desktop application management is currently unavailable and i dont like the webconsol for admin and if by mistakly removed users from group, account will deactivate/suspend which i didt like in jumpcloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The single sign-on (SSO) feature helps to solve user-end issues by allowing users to remember only one password instead of multiple passwords. Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a valuable feature from a security standpoint. Additionally, self-password reset will be a major advantage that requires zero tech support at the user end.

JumpCloud Review

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud MDM: It supports multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android). It is a big advantage for our company that has a mixed environment. Also, it helped us to have a much faster onboarding and offboarding process. With Zero-touch deployment preparing devices for new joiners was a great advantage.
Patch management helped us a lot to make sure all the devices are uptodate with the last OS and Apps updates.
SSO: We were able to create SSO for almost every app that we have that helps provisioning and de-provisioning the users.
Dynamic Groups: Using the Dynamic groups helped us to assign the write access based on the user role and department.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing model is a bit of a drawback. It charges for both active and suspended users, which can lead to complications, especially when integrating with HRIS/HRMS tools. This can create unnecessary cost overheads and management challenges, particularly in organizations with fluctuating staff numbers or those who frequently suspend and reactivate user accounts.

Another concern is the password manager. The first impression upon hearing the name "JumpCloud Password Manager" is that it is a cloud-based password manager, but it is not. Instead, it keeps passwords encrypted on devices, which was not an efficient solution for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Look, JumpCloud's been a big help for our IT team. We were drowning in device management issues before - trying to keep tabs on Macs, PCs, and all sorts of mobile devices was giving us headaches. Now? It's all in one place. Not perfect, but way better than before.
The onboarding process used to eat up so much of our time. Now, with this zero-touch thing, we're getting new hires up and running in no time. It's pretty smooth.
Keeping everything updated was another pain point. JumpCloud's taken a lot of that off our plate via Patch Management. We still have to keep an eye on things (Notification and installation time), but it's nowhere near the hassle it used to be.
Single sign-on's been huge for us too. We've rolled it out for most of our apps, and it's cut down on those annoying password reset tickets. Plus, it's tightened up our security a lot.
Dynamic groups feature? That's been a real game-changer for managing access. It's not foolproof, but it catches a lot of potential issues before they become real problems. (Not supported for all the fields)
Has it solved all our IT headaches? No, we still have our share of fires to put out. But it's made life easier. We're spending less time on the boring stuff and more time on projects that matter.

Seamless SSO with Strong Security and Support

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using JumpCloud for almost two years and it has streamlined our identity management by providing SSO configurations, managing user accounts, and updating password policy. I appreciate that it acts as a cloud-initiated, scalable, and secure platform, enhancing security and making my work more efficient. With features like SSO, MFA enforcement, and centralized user management, JumpCloud has simplified our operations significantly. I particularly enjoy the streamlined access for platforms like GitLab, Clockify, and Bitwarden, and how it enhances security with MFA and conditional policies. The setup process was straightforward, although it required careful planning, especially with directory synchronization. I appreciate that any challenges we face, such as with access requests and SSO configurations, are swiftly handled by JumpCloud's support team who are receptive to feedback. With JumpCloud, the automated user provisioning and audit logs offer clear visibility into user activity and compliance, further enhancing our workflow. The seamless integrations with tools like Google Workspace and the robust security enforcement stand out as major advantages. Overall, JumpCloud offers a centralized, secure, and user-friendly solution, contributing to a more secure and efficient operating environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have encountered challenges with new features like Access Requests and SSO configuration. Although I am in constant touch with the JumpCloud support team, and they do take feedback, these areas require ongoing attention and improvements to fully meet our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find JumpCloud enhances security with MFA and streamlines user management through SSO and automated provisioning, simplifying access control, reducing manual effort, and strengthening compliance.

Jumpcloud MDM is a good way to keep your IT fleet controlled and secured

  • August 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Today we use Jumpcloud to manage our MacOS and Windows worksations.

Mac and Windows are managed the same way with no need to use different products.
And we even tried to manage a few Android devices with success.

It is a great way to apply security policies on our devices, ensure they are allways up to date and deploy software remotely. It is easy to use and the support is very helpful.

Jumpcloud API is very powerfull and permits to automate some tasks (such as alerting in Slack for example)
What do you dislike about the product?
We import our users from Google Workspace and the configuration was quite tought the first time.
Today it is not possible to automaticly filter the users we are importing.
As a result we have some users in Jumpcloud that are in fact services accounts and not real people.

The API despite being powerfull is very fragmented (2 versions)
But the product is imporving months after months
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a full remote company, gaining full control on our devices is not easy.
In a few months with Jumpcloud we were able to gain access to 90% of our devices (integration is easy, chasing people to install Jumpcloud is less)

As a security engineer I was very happy to enforce security policies.
We enforced the usage of our antivirus, of the drives encyption and session lock.

But more important:
all our devices are now up to date in less than 3days (even for the browsers)
