IT Management for the Rest of Us

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can use JumpCloud to manage user access to our physical devices. It's great that I can pair it to our existing Office 365 services, which ensures our team regularly resets their passwords, but also that they have one less password that they need to remember. It also helps us stay in line with regulatory compliance for the higher education industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using JumpCloud through a third-party intermediary has caused some problems for our organization. We haven't been able to perform certain administrative functions for our organization without involvement from this third-party.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is making sure that only our staff have access to company-owned devices and adds a layer of digital security to our systems.

What do you like best about the product?
it's easy to configure and has countless integrations, plus tutorials. This makes it compatible with your existing stack, it just fits in.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I personally don't like is that JC agent supports only certain Linux distributions and versions. I understand why that's the case, but still.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we mainly need it for regulatory reasons and it has a lot to offer to help achieving and maintaining compliance

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a comprehensive cloud-based directory service that offers a modern alternative to traditional Active Directory (AD) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) solutions. It's designed to provide secure, frictionless access management and identity services across various devices, applications, and networks. The platform stands out for its flexibility, scalability, and ease of integration with a wide range of IT environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
No solution is without its drawbacks. Learning curve when transitioning from traditional AD/LDAP systems to JumpCloud, particularly in terms of understanding the platform's full range of capabilities and best practices for implementation. Additionally, while the platform is highly scalable, cost considerations may arise as organizations grow and their needs evolve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross-Platform Device Management, Remote Workforce Support, Identity and Access Management Security Compliance, Integration Challenges

What do you like best about the product?
Started off using JumpCloud for device management. As my companys needs grew JumpCloud was there right with me with a product/feature that made my life easier. Have always been able to get ahold of support when ever I need help. (Can't say that about many companies these days) With the many different ways to download/install the JumpCloud Agent you'll be able to find the best way for your implementation. I use it everyday and integration with my other system couldn't be any easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price at first. When I was able to show management the vaule add this product has it was a no brainer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's keeping track of all the hardware in the field I have. The ease of use is one of the best parts. Anything that I thought that I needed JumpCloud already has. If I don't know how to set it up they might have a video how-to or a knownledgebase to help with the setup.

JumpCloud allowed us to pivot from AD and Okta with ease

  • February 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud allowed us to get off of Active Directory and no longer require connecting over VPN to keep computer accounts active. Once we were fully migrated over to JumpCloud, it doesn't take much maintenance to keep devices and users working as expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud isn't as granular as Microsoft Group Policy when pushing policies to Windows devices. Also, better reporting features would be a big help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to move off of on-prem Active Directory for users and devices; most specifically not requiring remote users to connect in via VPN to keep their computer account active. We were able to migrate off of Okta for SSO and move to JumpCloud, which made sense for our business.

What do you like best about the product?
Good visibility of inventory. Easy registration of users.
What do you dislike about the product?
PowerShell scripts tend to not work very well, perhaps connectivity uses. Also API query documentation could be better organized and written, I usually find the right information in third party sites. Some users point towards JumpCloud for their hardware issues (sluggish, high cpu usage, ventilators ramp up).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inventory visibility was an issue in my organization but now we have a very good accountability for each of the active devices in the org.
