Convenient SSO Integrations That Centralize Authentication

  • February 19, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The built-in integrations with a variety of different SSO applications make it incredibly convenient to connect our different services to authentication from a single, central location.
What do you dislike about the product?
The logging/reporting does leave a bit to be desired, while you can find SSO attempts/failures etc these often aren't easily correlated to a specific application or service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SSO on all of the things, price point per user and application specific permission sets (AWS IAM).

Great for Distributed Teams: Secure Management Without AD or Azure

  • February 19, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a great fit for a smaller distributed office setup like ours. It allows us to manage computers and accounts without having to have Active directory or Azure. I like the powershell options and the security policies are great. Temporary admin rights are huge.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is getting better. I would like to see OU structure for managing devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps us using a serverless setup for our company. This means less hardware and always on connections. The user accounts are local so there hasn't been any instances without the ability to login.

Easy to Use and Intuitive—Quick to Learn and Start Improving

  • February 19, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and very intuitive. I hadn’t used it before rotating into another role, but I was able to pick it up quickly, start using it right away, and make improvements.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wasn’t a big fan of some of the recent menu UI updates or their frequency. I get that they’re trying to make the app even easier to use, but I was still a bit resistant to a few of the changes they introduced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve been working toward CMMC and CMMC 2 compliance, and Jumpcloud has helped us with many parts of that effort. Even the consultants we’ve worked with were relieved once they learned we were using it.

I like how JumpCloud makes identity control easier to delegate across multiple administrators. It also helped solve security blind spots caused by disconnected authentication tools by unifying authentication tracking. The initial setup was smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that there isn't a better historical comparison tool to track configuration changes over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud for user authentication management. It solves the security blind spot from disconnected tools by unifying authentication tracking.

Powerful All-in-One, But Lacking Granular Power Features vs Best-of-Breed Tools

  • February 19, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What makes JumpCloud stand out is its unified "Open Directory" architecture, which eliminates the need for a fragmented IT stack by consolidating identity management, cross-platform MDM, and secure access into a single cloud console. Unlike traditional tools that favor a specific ecosystem, JumpCloud acts as a neutral hub that connects one secure identity to virtually any resource—whether it's a Mac, Windows, or Linux device, a cloud application via SSO, or a local network via RADIUS—all while enforcing Zero Trust security policies.

Core Value in a Nutshell:
Platform Neutrality: Manages Apple, Microsoft, and Linux fleets with equal depth from one dashboard.

Tool Consolidation: Replaces 3–4 separate vendors (Directory, SSO, MFA, and MDM) with a single platform and bill.

Automation: Powers "zero-touch" onboarding where new hires can self-enroll devices and gain instant access to apps.

Hybrid-Ready: Designed specifically for remote work, removing the need for on-premise servers or clunky VPNs.
What do you dislike about the product?
While JumpCloud is a powerful "jack-of-all-trades," its biggest drawback is that it can sometimes be a "master of none." Because it tries to do everything—MDM, SSO, and Directory Services—it occasionally lacks the granular "power features" found in dedicated, best-of-breed competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is primarily solving the problem of IT fragmentation. In a world where companies use a mix of Mac/Windows/Linux, remote workers, and hundreds of cloud apps, managing everything usually requires a "Frankenstein" stack of 4–5 different tools. JumpCloud collapses those into one.

The Problems Being Solved:
Identity Silos: Instead of having separate logins for your laptop, your email, and your office WiFi, JumpCloud merges them into one "True Single Sign-On" identity.

Platform Lock-in: It breaks the "Windows-only" requirement of traditional directories (like Active Directory), allowing IT to manage Mac and Linux fleets with the same depth as PCs.

Shadow IT & Security Gaps: It eliminates the risk of "forgotten" accounts by giving IT a "kill switch" to instantly revoke access to all apps and lock a user's laptop the moment they leave the company.

Remote Management Friction: It solves the "VPN requirement." Admins can push security updates and reset passwords for remote employees over the internet without needing them to "tunnel" into a physical office.

Zero-Day Productivity: You can receive a shrink-wrapped laptop at home, log in with one password, and have all your apps and security settings auto-configure in minutes.

One Password to Rule Them All: You stop suffering from "password fatigue" because your device login is the same as your SSO login and your WiFi/VPN login.

Self-Service Empowerment: You can reset your own password or trigger security updates through a simple desktop app without waiting for a help desk ticket to be resolved.

Work-from-Anywhere Security: You get the peace of mind that your connection is secure and your data is encrypted, regardless of whether you're at a coffee shop or in the office
