JumpCloud makes compliance so much easier and more manageable

  • June 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Centralised Policy management across all managed devices
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to sell as the price is relatively high per endpoint, and this is difficult to justify to an end user who doesn't always see or understand the value it adds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance requirements are much easier, for example, Cyber Essentials controls can be rolled out from the central management console to all managed devices to ensure they meet the minimum requirements for the certification

Very good at what it does, still needs to do a few additional things

  • June 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is easy to implement and manage. It gives a user experience quite like what you'd expect and, in some aspects. very similar to more traditional solutions, thus reducing its technical overhead. The ability to manage both Win and Mac clients end-to-end with tools like GPO, patching etc, is really quite unique and gives a valuable one-stop-shop experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jumpcloud still lacks some key features in the area of MDM, which they are working on. Also it is still outnumbered in terms of how many integrations it has with 3rd parties compared to some of the competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud really brings under its umbrella a few different features which in the past would have been managed and purchased separately, thus consolidating the world of client management while reducing overhead.

JumpCloud Review: Streamline Your Identity and Access Management (IAM) Processes

  • June 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One aspect of JumpCloud that users often find valuable is its comprehensive and integrated approach to identity and access management (IAM). JumpCloud offers a wide range of IAM capabilities, including user and group management, SSO, MFA, directory services, and device management. This holistic approach allows organizations to consolidate their IAM processes and streamline user provisioning, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.

Additionally, JumpCloud's cloud-native architecture is appreciated by users. The platform operates in the cloud, eliminating the need for on-premises infrastructure and providing the flexibility to scale as per the organization's requirements. The cloud-native approach allows for easy deployment, management, and access from anywhere, contributing to enhanced productivity and operational efficiency.

JumpCloud's cross-platform support is another beneficial feature. It enables organizations to manage user identities and access across multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This flexibility is particularly valuable in heterogeneous IT environments, allowing seamless integration and control across various platforms.

Furthermore, JumpCloud emphasizes robust security measures. With features like MFA, SSO, and fine-grained access controls, organizations can enforce strong security practices and protect sensitive data. This focus on security helps organizations mitigate risks and maintain a secure IAM environment.

Lastly, JumpCloud's responsive customer support is often praised by users. The support team is known for their promptness in addressing inquiries and providing assistance when needed, contributing to a positive user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited Integration Options: While JumpCloud provides integration with popular SaaS applications and services, the range of supported integrations may not be as extensive compared to some dedicated IAM platforms. If your organization heavily relies on specific niche or custom applications that are not well-supported by JumpCloud, you may face

Reliance on Internet Connectivity: JumpCloud is a cloud-based platform, so uninterrupted internet connectivity is crucial for users to access and manage their identities and resources. In situations where internet connectivity is unreliable or intermittent, it may impact the accessibility and availability of JumpCloud's services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is a cloud-based directory platform that aims to solve several problems related to user management, device management, and security within organizations. Here are some of the problems that JumpCloud addresses and the benefits it provides:

Centralized User Management: JumpCloud offers a centralized platform for managing user identities, access controls, and authentication across various systems, applications, and devices. This streamlines the user onboarding and offboarding processes, simplifies password management, and ensures consistent access policies, resulting in improved productivity and reduced administrative overhead.

This integration enables seamless authentication and access control across both on-premises and cloud-based applications, promoting a smooth transition to hybrid or cloud-focused IT environments.

Device Management: JumpCloud enables organizations to manage their diverse fleet of devices, including Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, from a single console. IT administrators can enforce security policies, configure settings, deploy software updates, and remotely troubleshoot devices, resulting in increased efficiency, reduced downtime, and enhanced security.

The Perfect Solution To Get Away From Traditional Active Directory

  • June 09, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Overall, it's a decent alternative to other cloud directory services, and it supports Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
What do you dislike about the product?
We put a lot of time into pushing this out to clients of ours only to later receive communication from JumpCloud that a 7% annual price increase is what they consider to be their standard practice. JumpCloud is already expensive, especially since half of the features are shoddily implemented and barely function as expected. A 7% annual price increase is nuts, and honestly rather insulting. Imagine getting entire clients onboarded with JumpCloud, changing how they are logging in or authenticating, and taking full advantage of the features that JumpCloud offers, only to have those features not actually work well, and then knowing that you now have to reverse course for your clients because of course you have to pass on this 7% increase to your customers, along with whatever increase you may need to provide just so you can legitimately keep up with the market and not sell yourself short. Imagine if food went up 7% every single year. Don't tell us it's because of inflation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We mainly went with JumpCloud so that we could easily enforce MFA for our clients. Primarily for compliancy reasons. We've also used JumpCloud to determine which users have access to which devices.

Cross platform directory services made simple!

  • June 09, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud makes it easy to manage users across all platforms, including Windows and Linux. The big selling point was the cloud LDAP with push 2FA, which makes adding 2FA to VPN extremely easy. I also love the ability to install agents and easily manage the device's settings, similar to using Windows GPOs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have very few complaints, and the ones I do have a minor. For example, multiple mobile devices for push 2FA is not possible, making it difficult to use shared logins if needed. I would also like to see more granular details in the reporting, including what IP address the authentication requests are coming from for the cloud LDAP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud allows me to create a user once and gives them the ability to log into all designated resources at local and remote sites. The builtin 2FA is also a huge selling point to me.

A Mobile Device Management solution that helps to manage devices

  • June 09, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The tool is more like a Mobile Device Management solution that helps to manage devices.

What is most valuable?

I am impressed with the product's remote access which allows admins to control endpoints which is a timesaver.

What needs improvement?

The product needs to create its own self-service feature which has been requested by all the admins in the community.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is almost stable and recovery from outages takes around one to two hours maximum.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the solution's scalability a six point five out of ten. We have around 250-300 users for the product.

How are customer service and support?

I have reached out to the support more than once.

How was the initial setup?

The product's setup is easy. The device enrollment can be completed in five to ten minutes. However, deployment involved configuring profiles by following documentation, which can take up to a day.

What about the implementation team?

The solution's deployment was done in-house.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the product an eight out of ten. You can use the solution if admins are looking for one MDM for all endpoints, be it Linux, Windows, Mac, etc. The tool is nice in terms of pricing as well.
