How Directory Services would be in a Cloud Native world

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and execution of JumpCloud drastically reduces the complexity that would otherwise involve "specialists"
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. The product seems to have captured the requirements and needs of most organisations on a new directory services journey
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifying and standardising small directory service deployments.

Simple authentication without the overhead

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used the solution for several years now and have been very happy with the ability to eliminate the need and the cost of AD architecture for small business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that SSO integration was a bit more intuitive, the capability is there but I've not had the time to dig in to integrate yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Device authentication has become a simple, always-functioning process. Password resets can be handled remotely even when there is not traditional management architecture!

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
*The interface is simple and easy to manage.
*Users can be imported from Azure AD/365, super useful.
*Able to manage users and devices simply and easily.
*Minimal time and effort requirement to set up - low learning curve.
*consolidated device management across Mac, Windows and Linux
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is overly complex and inaccessible/hard to read from a UI perspective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mandating security policy across our multi-OS estate and ensuring good governance and management of hardware/devices
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the instructional videos on YouTube and be prepared to support users with device setup during rollout.

SSO & MDM for mixed environment. Go Jumpcloud!

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We needed a platform for SSO , MDM and IAM. Jumpcloud fits the bill perfectly. We are using it in an organization that has a mixed-use of Apple and Windows. We can create a user in jumpcloud and have it populated everywhere. users can log in to their device using google credentials. Love that we can push the apps and other minor configuration from a single platform. No log in to each individual machine to set it up. We are slowly getting rid of On premise AD for the same task and briding the gap with JumpCloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can be a bit better overall. Not a big deal to be honest. Saves us a lot of time and energy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SSO, MDM and IAM.

JumpCloud, a solution for annoying problems.

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that JumpCloud is a one stop shop for directory services, MFA, and basic device management.

This combination is very helpful, you're not left to piece together a solution for user creation, user passwords, and another solution for MFA. And you can combine this with insight into the state of your systems.

This is a very powerful combination.
What do you dislike about the product?
The management of Windows devices requires a fair bit of in depth knowledge of Windows Administration. This isn't really a bad thing, but it is definitely a point where, being a Linux shop, we lack internal knowledge.

There had been some hope that we would be able to do without acquiring that knowledge, however JumpCloud doesn't help as much there as we might desire.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using JumpCloud allowed us to get off the ground as a startup both faster than we could have otherwise, and with a great deal more general security.

And it has scaled very well as the number of users and systems that we need to manage has grown.

All without needing us to have in depth knowledge of something like FreeIPA. This is a huge benefit for us, as a startup.

    Information Technology and Services

Simple, yet powerful

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface. The provisioning and refresh are quick and responsive. While we have only scratched the surface, the number of integrations is incredibly vast, and Jumpcloud will likely be able to talk with any application of your choosing. The help articles are in-depth and provide walkthroughs of many scenarios you may come across. Most, if not all, of the initial setup and ongoing use of the service, can be quickly completed without external support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing by feature isn't ideal as it makes it somewhat more confusing to "sell" to management since further expansion into other software apps may not be covered by the current license and attract increased costs. The requirement to re-sync the integration with Microsoft 365 every 90 days is somewhat annoying, but I appreciate that this may be a limitation on Microsoft's part, rather than Jumpcloud itself.
It would be nice to have a more detailed Windows 10 integration to push out group policies if you moved away from a Windows domain controller.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud allows us to sync our Azure Active Directory credentials with our on-premise Synology NAS's giving us a central point of control for all user credentials. Jumpcloud has reduced staff password reset requests and saved login times. Management of user accounts from on-premise devices can be somewhat difficult without a solution such as Jumpcloud.
We also use Jumpcloud to sync between Microsoft 365 and Google Suite, which reduces employee password reset requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the free (up to 10 user) license, and test with a small subset of users on your chosen applications/stacks.

One stop shop

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of deployment for auth solutions SaaS model. No operations burden very easy to setup and integrate free ware for the sandbox testing. SaaS model for Cloud Directory so no on prem DC or compute required.
It connects to my azure active directory on on prem version so its offers flexibility. Most importantly to easy to deploy cloud desktops in your own region so that users has better access and best experience with out any jitter and latency issues.
I am using for managing my lab env, however it has options for smallest of the smalles teams to large enterprises so scale is not an issue and since everything is in the cloud it needs ZERO on prem infrastructure and also it saves opex cost as there is no need of special skilled administrators. A part from the webportal for the management there is a Client available so that day to day operations can be performed easily and the client is available for any Desktop OS.
For Security measures it also offers 2 Factor authentication for users.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are very few blogs or articles available in case if help needed.
it is not possible to manage GSuite groups with Jumpcloud
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster time to market because it’s quite easy to integrate, the migration from on MS AD was not difficult. We also have the sandbox environment setup for the 10 users/devices for quick testing.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were evaluating for WEB SSO features
