awesome simple security service

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
for managing a non-windows network, implementing SAML or PAM services without an LDAP tree or radius server can be tricky or almost impossible. jump cloud makes this process extremely easy and straightforward. it makes managing a fleet of Linux and Mac servers and desktop computers much easier to secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
you can only have one radius server for our pricing tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
complex mfa and distributed login problems. especially with multiple providers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try. The uptime is amazing, the ease of implementation and management are fantastic. Plus they offer a free trial. Nothing to loos.

Great tool to assure security policies

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very good tool to support security policies, specially because it facilitates the remote management of features and information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have anything in mind for now. The suggestions we had, they seem to be in the roadmap already.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MDM integration with Apple. Security policies specially for network segmentation bases on users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jump Cloud is the tools which most covers all needs in terms of governance that we could find in the market, specially regarding network segmentation.

Excellent Identity management solution

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and intuitive to use. Supports all the important features required to do enterprise identity management. Integration with many services is simple with their prebuilt SAML connectors. The documentation is top notch and provides easy to follow examples on how to management configuration=.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the prebuilt SAML connectors could be more robust for instance, we would like to see a much more robust connector with AWS as we have multiple accounts and roles that we would like to be able to configure through a single connector rather than having to setup multiple endpoints. I think some parts of the product are still maturing such as user permission management at scale via the console however most customized controls are available via the API and some custom scripting. I think some more engagement from the Jumpcloud customer success team on how better we can utilize their product would be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More streamlined and secured onboarding and off-boarding of employees. More secure access management including server access with 2FA ssh key management. Taking a identity first approach and requiring all products and services integrate with the directory has enabled us to much more securely control access to our systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would recommend evaluating the product and seeing if it works well for you.

Excellent SSO option

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Simple, easy setup and management of our mac infrastructure.
- Works really well.
- Stability and great uptime (can't remember when it has ever been unavailable).
- Agents on machines make it simple to change out passwords for users.
- Great support when we run into issues trying to integrate another vendor with SAML. We've been on several calls with them where we were trying to setup a new integration / vendor and kept running into problems. There was never once that they said "not my problem". Instead, they continued to spend time with us, get on conference calls with us and the third party vendor, and stay with us until we had a fully working solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
- I don't have a lot of complaints as it's a well done software.
- One thing I would like to see an easier way to switch between my normal user account and an admin account for administering jumpcloud itself. Easy enough to have another browser opened but that's one more thing I have to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to have SSO as well as enterprise style machine management for our business without having to run Active Directory or other large installations ourselves. Jumpcloud makes it simple to manage our assets. It's a great fit for mac infrastructure.

Directory As A Service - A lot of promise and good execution

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is current the only multi-platform DaaS product that works well. Their Directory product is mature, integrates well with other services through direct integrations or the Radius feature.

JumpCloud works best when it is the authoritative directory. You are able to bind Windows, Linux and macOS systems and synchronies the users password across your cloud and on-premise technology.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their product development strategy is un-focused and they seem to get distracted easily. Rather than focusing on fleshing out and developing features for their Directory product they add-on "features" like SAML/SSO and now VERY light weight MDM.

They need to focus on adding value to the Directory product through features like requiring a password change at next login, computer based authentication for RADIUS deployments and checking the users password against known bad/compromised passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a cloud-first company JumpCloud solves the problem of needing an authoritative directory with no on-prem AD or LDAP. JumpCloud seamlessly connects endpoints, SaaS applications and RADIUS clients with a single password and the options for managing multi-factor auth.

A FANTASTIC AD company!

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the usability and features that JumpCloud provides its admins. It has great integration and permissions controls. The fact that I can add a policy to any machine and/or user is amazing and seamless. I would HIGHLY recommend more organizations take a look at JumpCloud for their AD.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer support lacks in the response time and always provides links which are not helpful. I wish that they had a chat support feature for paying customers online. This would result in better troubleshooting and quicker resolutions to user issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of login and policy related issues, which have been helpful. My favorite aspect is the gmail integration. It is great not to have to go into the gsuite admin portal to add the user. JumpCloud does it directly for you with just the click of a radio button. VERY nice feature.

Low overhead for a great directory service

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So far, the integration of services such as Office 365, Jamf, and G Suite has saved countless hours of administrative management. Having JumpCloud as our centralized authority, and it being cloud-based, has meant we save on server maintenance and the positions it would require to do dedicate. There's also PowerShell integration which has been perfect for bulk management for users and groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike that isn't possible with PowerShell, just would enjoy seeing the GUI offer the same functions. Specifically, I would like to be able to merge users from two separate groups into a third group without needing PowerShell, but I suppose you can't have everything be that easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main problem has been streamlining our onboarding process. We started by creating all users, individually, within the separate service interfaces. This consisted of Office 365, G Suite, and Jamf pro. Once we got the directory and SAML integration worked out, we have saved countless hours and removed the variable of user error between the different data entry points.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have not found another product that offers all of the system management components from a single dashboard. Especially now that Insights is baked in, it's a fantastic tool

    Government Administration

Cloud central administration, Cloud Radius, Cloud LDAP, Cloud Policies
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost, Some lacking of granular controls for policies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Central auth and policies using cloud controls without servers and without intune

    Computer & Network Security

Best LDAP as a Service

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign accounts to systems and applications. The ability to use a single set of accounts across our internal applications, third party tools, and ALL operating systems makes the life of an IT admin a dream. This save me countless hours provisioning users to my entire infrastructure with the click of a button or the execution of a simple script.y
What do you dislike about the product?
Mac operations are not my favorite. The file encryption is a little annoying at times with Mac OS but other than that nothing is bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to login to Mac / Linux / Windows, our homegrown applications, Graylog, Mirth Connect. We utilize this piece of software EVERYWHERE to ensure that we have 1 password to go to everything. As a company that is in the Health Care Industry, their MFA is critical in support our security requirements across not only our team but the clients we onboard with Jumpclould.

Administrative Tasks would be a nightmare without jumpcloud. I use this as a configuration management tool as well to run different management scripts on each of my server types.

We tag our machines into groups depending on the type of function they perform. Linux boxes are divided into multiple categories as well. Not only do we utilize the different categories for types of Linux Distros, but the functionality underneath. The Powershell modules are also very helpful in managing automated tasks especially with systems that are automatically registered to jumpcloud.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Define Linux users to be in a different default range (3000 or 5000)
