Jumpcloud is a very good product that helps us operate more efficiently and securely

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to control security features on computers and setup workstations remotely. The SSO integrations are very strong and allow you to create users in other applications if the integrations are set up. The MDM control for Apple products is very useful and makes managing them much easier. PC management is also improving as they roll new features out. User management, updating passwords, and giving users access to applications is very easy and straightforward. The ability to create users in other applications makes my onboarding process much smoother and easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to update 150 user names to what we have on the local computer for them to capture the account. The VPN system was difficult so set up but may have something to do with our network technology. They didn't provide the best support to help solve this but there are a lot of network solutions in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation when creating accounts across the SaaS products we use, giving us a cloud directory and controlling computer security, and a SSO for users to access applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore all of the things JumpCloud has to offer and put a plan together to do a complete rollout because it's easy to get side tracked and not take advantage of everything they have to offer. Make sure to test out policies before rolling them out to all users in the company. Consider how the solution will work with the rest of your systems as a whole.

Strong Product, Excited for Future Developments

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it seems JumpCloud is trying to develop an all inclusive solution for management both access, but devices through the introduction of the MDM platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features are still in their infancy, which is a dislike, but, I would say if they are delivered well that will be a plus for JumpCloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management and increased security posture. Our organization used to have no passwords linkage, so users were responsible for remembering many passwords. Additionally, access to Wi-Fi can be controlled with JumpCloud via their radius solution, meaning one less call to the help desk.

Jumpcloud allow us to manage remote users

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gives us the ability to manage user credentials and systems without on premise hardware. It allows for us to run remote commands on our laptops while our users work from home so we don't have to remote into their laptops using teamviewer or splashtop to gather information.
What do you dislike about the product?
User creation is difficult and sometimes requires you to set information a couple of times. For creating G Suite accounts you have to first create the account and then set the password again to sync it with GSuite. I also would like it if it would generate a one time password for the user and force them to change it at next login.
It is also annoying that you have to buy their systems and directory insight upgrades to get visibility into the usage of the system in your environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to manage remote workers and equipment with minimal time and effort. Instead of setting up different user account on their computer, gsuite, and Microsoft 365 accounts, I just need to set it up once and it will use the same credentials for all their accounts. With the LDAP and Radius server it allows us to gain better control of our local servers and wifi systems to improve security for our users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a thorough evaluation and ask a lot of questions to their sales and support. If you want to use the SSO functionality verify the services you want to use it with have the correct license. Their sales and support are great to work with if you need help figuring out anything.

Very positive and developing with good relationships

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The scalability, the easy of use and the attention to development from the team. New features re quite promising. The breadth is growing and i can affect the future of the releases by providing feedback and at the same time get updates. Very good communication with the account managers. The rollout was easy and the fact that it is secure and backed by a ever growing team. The tool is very compatible with Gsuite products and gets more and more support for others. Works well with various platforms and collaborations tools of the today's age. We had a very good adoption of it and it was very easy to train staff to work with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some issue still appear the UI can get a bigger boost to polish up the time it takes to places. Some free space can be optimized, i.e compacter view. Some features may need faster release to publicю
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User directory, asset management, governance of company data and hardware via a centralized tool. Helps us also to get a glimpse of what is going on in general and also utilize the SSO in future for better centralization. We are hoping it can help us get the most of the features in case they are able to implemented fast and easy, and as the main problem is centralization, it takes a while. We have connected a set of tools already and it is helping also in connecting them and getting an easier login solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have time and resources to learn as it is different from On premise solutions. But once you get the hang, it is much easier

The best all in one System Administrator's tool

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having all the administration services in one place is the best part of JumpCloud. It is Cloud Users Directory, MDM, Systems management, remote control using scripts and policies, RADIUS, LDAP etc.
Their latest feature Systems Insight is a great addition to the tools, which allows Administrators to get all the specs and data of the machines right from the Administrator Portal.
They also released Powershell module to have even better control over the whole service.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Administrator web portal UI is a bit simplistic and is not very useful for writing scripts and reading execution logs. So if you want to make some quick small adjustments to the script, you still have to use an external editor. But now with Powershell Module and API, one doesn't really need to use a web portal anymore.
Otherwise, the UI is very clean and straightforward in both the Administrator portal and the User portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User provisioning to both external services and machines is one of the most common tasks that I do in JumpCloud. This saves a lot of time and enables SSO for almost all services that are used in the company. Installing/uninstalling software on remote machines individually or in bulk using scripts is also another task that is very common. The best part is that JumpCloud is a cross-platform SaaS, which makes it very easy to manage all systems in our company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trying out all the features can provide a good understanding of the full potential of JumpCloud.

Cloud Directory for Startups

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are currently using JumpCloud to centralise access and manage devices like laptops in a remote setting. It support lot of things that a startup requires. Things are designed keeping small and multitasking teams at startup in mind. Huge set of integration that are already supported. LDAP and Radius are generally some of the critical and complicated setups to manage. JumpCloud has provided easy setup for those with worrying much about mis-configuration. They have some of the cool features like MDM in pipeline which typically requires working with different vendor and it is difficult to find vendors that suit well to startups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Directory Insight feature is very core to the product and it should be part of the base plan. Right now it needs to be added as extra feature with added price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to centralise access which is a requirement for certifications like ISO27001 and SOC 1/2. With centralised access we can easily add and remote users and don't have to worry about any misses. One of the major benefits is not having setup different solution to get it done. Earlier we tried a hosted AD approach but the integration were talking lot of time. JumpCloud is saving us lot of development effort in building these things. Apart from that it is helping save some time for Administrators when it comes to managing users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Deeper tie-up with device manufactures for improved device management.

Using Jumpcloud to connect G Suite accounts, Windows 10 computers and O365 without Active Directory

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to provision users to G Suite, Windows (and other) laptops, O365 etc. Also using Policies and Commands to manage Windows computers. Simple agent installation to Windows laptops. No other software installations needed. Easy to use so we have multiple "Administrators" and HR is able to provision users without IT departments help.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no functionality to upload or download CSV files of users or computers in GUI. Windows agent installations have stopped working and we have had to manually uninstall and install them again, which was difficult as the computers were no longer managed and we had no access to them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Jumpcloud we do not need Active Directory and can stil manage Windows 10 laptops, O365 accounts and G Suite accounts in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a test! 10 free users!

    Computer Software

Great for remote administration across devices

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Policies that can be applied to any OS remotely. Remote deployment of software
What do you dislike about the product?
Some browser glitches affect the usability sometimes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ISO27001 certification, remotely sending software to machines. On-boarding/off boarding of staff/machines
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a 10 user free trial, get a willing set of users to trial it out on and see how easy it is to setup policies and remotely deploy commands to target machines

Jumpcloud as MDM

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, rather clean UI, good onboarding, pre-configured policies. This makes MDM rather easy and all necessary info is gathered within 1 place (e.g. encryption status of the device, which was an absolute necessity). For WIndows users the change of passwords is really easy with the well known ctrl-alt-del command.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not always great while installing the client or synchronization between Jumpcloud and IdP. Some policies are missing or are restricted to the OS. More examples would be helpful. Documentation not as structured as it could be, e.g. you have to go through several pages until you find what you need. Jumpcloud could also make some more use of grouping systems/policies/commands in a different way, which in current satus sometimes makes it necessary to scroll and search too often. The password change on macs needs to be done with an app, unfortunetaly and creates an additional acocunt on the device. If this get's fixed, I'd be really happy. Same goes for general availability on all Linux systems (but fortunately this is somethings that's being worked on).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to find a solution for MDM and AD and therefore choose Jumpcloud, because it seems to be the most feasable solution. The biggest benefit is the 1:1 assignment of users to devices, which makes inventorizing extremely easy. As there's a synchronization between our IdP and Jumpcloud, we can easily roll out the accounts to users without going to several places seperately.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can, use it right away from the start, so you don't have to deal with existing devices. And think about a consistent naming policy for the users.
