JumpCloud: Perfect for my needs

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find JumpCloud's multi-platform support to be one of its most useful features - it allows me to manage Mac, Linux and Windows devices with ease. The ability to choose an alternative user database to import users from systems such as O365 into my network is also a great time saver. I'm also impressed with the built-in scripting capabilities; this feature alone has reduced the RMM workload within our organisation. Finally, with the recent introduction of the Apple Mobile Device Manager, the benefits are even greater, adding even more value when used in conjunction with other management tools available on the market today!
What do you dislike about the product?
I appreciate that the backup team is open to implementing new improvements, but there are still areas of JumpCloud that need improvement. These include adding the ability to move devices between different groups, better Android compatibility, having built-in rules which would then allow better leverage of responsibilities and privileges on their dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using JumpCloud, I can easily and securely manage authentication for all my on-premises and cloud resources. It simplifies the process of authenticating users across multiple sources by eliminating the manual configuration required with traditional directory services such as Active Directory or LDAP.

A Game-Changer for Security

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use of JumpCloud and all its practical features. Hosting applications in the cloud eliminates the need for costly VPN connections or Active Directory infrastructure, which really helps save money! What stands out most to me is the device management capabilities - it allows us to do things that were previously impossible without Group Policies. Installing programs with Chocolately packages is also a great feature - plus you can choose between pre-packaged bundles or pay-as-you-go models depending on your needs; very cost effective too! Free accounts for up to ten users are also available, so there's no pressure during the trial period.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I find JumpCloud to be quite reliable and works well. However, I feel that there could be improvements in terms of customisation options when it comes to the presentation layer. It would be a great help if tasks, activities and reports related to multiple OS applications were better arranged in folder structures with clear labelling conventions such as prefixes - that way navigation wouldn't require so much digging around for key elements each time!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves the challenge of securely and effectively managing users, computers and applications from a single, centralised platform. This means I can rest assured that my user authentication systems are secure, while I can easily access remote networks on any device at any time.

What do you like best about the product?
It has advantages for a small or medium business since it covers all IT needs without having a specialist IT officer to manage it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tools aren't too advanced for some IT operation that is complex. Still, for a small business, it will give all that basic IT needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to manage password authentication and identity management. It is to secure our applications from unauthorized access or ill-intent hackers from gaining confidential information.
