What do you like best about the product?
I am a big fan of the Systems overview and User overview pages. It gives me a clear oversight of all assets within our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Poor remote command execution process. Feedback can be unclear and would be good if there was some stock commands. If there was some commands available for common tasks such as enforcement of updates and reboot that would be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves me having to run a full AD environment, freeing me up for other tasks. It also removes the necessary workloads of maintenance and security of an active directory.

JumpCloud truly shines as a Swiss Army knife of identity management

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud excels as a centralized identity authority. It has served as my primary source of truth for account credentials for over three years now, and I haven't yet tapped its full potential. The wide variety of integrations possible is one of its greatest strengths. I have leveraged the JumpCloud agent, Microsoft Azure AD (Microsoft 365) integration, LDAP, RADIUS, and SSO to provide greater authentication consistency across my organization. The recent integration of Duo Authenticator was also a welcome addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
The top of my list of shortcomings that I most would like to see remedied is the lack of a JumpCloud agent for the second largest commercial Linux distribution, SUSE. After switching from Ubuntu desktops to OpenSUSE, I had to craft a workaround using sssd to accommodate JumpCloud identities. While the support for current operating systems is quite broad, there is no support for JumpCloud on BSD outside of MacOS. I have managed a workable solution for OpenBSD that I expect to implement soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I already mentioned, having a more cohesive authoritative identity source has been a boon to consistency. The extensibility of the platform offers a myriad of integrations which contributes to simplicity and efficiency. JumpCloud provides easy control of consistent identity on managed firewalls, managed WordPress, the managed hosts that power the managed WordPress, workstations, hosted cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Dropbox For Business, and even enterprise WiFi authentication.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consult with an experienced integrator to insure that you not only get everything set up properly, but get the most out of your JumpCloud integration as possible.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you need to cut of the administrate privilegies of users, in a Mac environment to every app that has to be updated in the User Machine, you have to give for these users the administrator privileges or create a several scripts commands to do these updates.

For Linux Machines, the JumpCloud does not have a long list of security options.
