Very good solution for experts and novices alike

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is cloud based. It is very easy to use. I also like that you can use it for free with a limited number of people. We have a small office and it is a great alternative to an active directory server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike. I would like to see more integrations with API. There are still a few programs that it does not integrate with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an active directory type solution for all of the computers and laptops that our company has but we didn't want to pay for an onsite server to run the active directory. It has also made it very easy to onboard new employees and deactivate user rights for old employees after they leave.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try everything on yourself as one user before emplomenting to whole team. Also spend time showing your team how everything works and why it's best so that they will embrace the change.

Directory for the family

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature for jumpcloud is the GSuite integration. One password to rule them all! It makes helping out my parents, who aren't the most tech savvy people, and my siblings much much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't actually have any complaints for using jumpcloud yet. I've only been using it for a couple of months but these couple of months have been great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem I had to solve was user accounts on a couple of computers that I maintain for my father large family. With 12 people and two computers, I needed a way to have account control on the computer without setting up an entire active directory. With jumpcloud I can set up a new computer, change a password and add users in just a couple of clicks from anywhere in the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have the tools and walkthroughs to move away from active directory. Especially for small business this is a life saver.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, just works. Extensive documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Didn't find any downsiedes of Jumpcloud yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synchronizing user accounts between Windows AD and Linux
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out.

Great Solution when Active Directory is just overkill.

What do you like best about the product?
Quick, easy central control of credentials for multiple systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
We love single sign on, but too many web services consider it an "enterprise" feature, so it is not as widely available as it should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping passwords synced on systems that may only get used occasionally, can be extremely annoying. Being able to update passwords in a single, central location saves a ton of time and confusion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it, you'll love it.

This survey is too long, I tried to complete it but too many questions! Bye

What do you like best about the product?
Deploying software to remote workstations! Policies for both Apple MAC OSX and Windows PCs - storing the disk encryption keys. Free for up to 10 devices, easy to use for home computers!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough SaaS companies with SSO authentication have instructions for Jumpcloud SSO
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avoiding all of the extra clutter of AD, GPO and easily able to support remote users without VPN complexity
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implement ManageEngine alongside JumpCloud to manage patches, etc.

Very simple to use and deploy

What do you like best about the product?
The way user accounts a more created locally instead of needing an domain to control everything
What do you dislike about the product?
It does lack some features that would make it helpful...Group Policy is a good example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for my small office and it helps keep the cost down from having to mangage an On premise AD
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This works great for Directory user control for small to mid sized businesses with one or two locations

Great replacement for Active Directory

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Allowed us to completely get rid of all of our Active Directory domain controllers as a part of our migration to the cloud
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the SAML SSO Connections were a little challenging to set up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single Sign-On and local user accounts on our systems

    Computer Software

Easy to deploy, works across many environments

What do you like best about the product?
The offering is simple but comprehensive. We've used it to manage access to employee laptops (local accounts on both macs and PCs), Linux servers (with ssh-keys), radius wifi, g-suite and other web application, and LDAP (for non-sso capable resources). There is very little we cannot control access to through JumpCloud. The interface is relatively easy to understand but still provides a great deal of flexibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly very little now. They used to have a confusing "tag" system rather than groups but that has been replaced and I am very happy with it. Managing the deployment on Macs can bit a little of a pain. Apple apparently consistently releases breaking changes and so jumpcloud is always warning to not update to the latest OSX until they have a new release (this can be managed through policies though so it's not a huge issue... just a nuisance).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to jumpcloud we had all local accounts on laptops and our server fleet. Now I have consistent password policies and access control for all employees across a variety of resources. Enrolling users and removing access to critical resources now takes just a few minutes.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to coordinate logins from an admin portal is phenomenal
What do you dislike about the product?
There's little to dislike, the functionality is great. Maybe more support documentation?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Admin control over end user touchpoints

Jump Cloud

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is an amazing online active directory, giving full group policy control for all my devices.
I don't need to sign in via VPN to access my network and make a change, I can literally do it from anywhere that has a stable internet connection. Changing passwords within a few seconds has really saved a lot of time
What do you dislike about the product?
When a windows update runs, it changes the Group Policies to default
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a physical Server. I can edit policies, change passwords, etc. on the go.
I do not need to be at any system physically to run a GP Update or any sort of command.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a phenomenal AD system without the hassel of having a physical server.
