Good Saas based directory service
What do you like best about the product?
Supports Mac, Windows, and Linux environments with Radius authentication and is an excellent replacement for Active Directory
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that need to be added in the future, such as RDP, OU, file permissions, and print management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Key chain issue on Macbook and need more future features like remote management and OU management
Jumpcloud for K-12 School
What do you like best about the product?
As a K-12 International school, the most important features are the User Management interface and the ability to create unique usernames for our teachers and staff's computer, Google, Office 365, and Adobe.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the Commands tool (running custom script on our staff's computers) is helpful, it could use some upgrades in terms of ease of use, such as different filters for looking for and selecting users or devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User management with Jumpcloud (giving our teachers access to a computer with their account, creating their school Gmail accounts, assigning them a license in Office 365 and Adobe) has made our ICT onboarding procedures more straightforward. We only need to create and manage one account, their Jumpcloud account.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking into Jumpcloud for user and access management, try to establish what account creation and management can be automated with Jumpcloud.
No so much experience, I didn’t have enough experience with the platform
What do you like best about the product?
The integrations is of course one of the best things.
What do you dislike about the product?
How an user and different integrations are used, like vpn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ldap integration was nice option to authenticate jumpcloud users into the organization
JumpCloud Cloud Directory - Business Review
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud allows our business to manage Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. On top of that, it was flexible enough to allow us to integrate SSOs and policy groups, both of which were essential for our company. We were able to integrate both Google Workspace and Microsoft Active Directory into JumpCloud as well. I really like the fact that this is a cloud based solution so our IT team can dedicate resources elsewhere instead of to maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, JumpCloud servers go down during business hours, leaving our company stuck with the configurations we have. While this does not happen often, it can be detrimental to business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps solve the issue of having devices that run different types of OS. We can seamlessly manage any OS and implement directory access for Windows machines. We utilize SSO, policy groups, device groups, OS commands, and more. These, in conjunction, allow for smooth operation of business. Whenever a new technology is released that we want to integrate within JumpCloud, given a short amount of time usually the connection is available. We have made SSO integrations between our ERP systems, Helpdesk systems, email, phone systems, and more. JumpCloud solves these issues by not discriminating based on OS types. This allows anyone of any device OS to receive the same benefits.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider all the integrations you have and will need in the future. JumpCloud supports all kinds of integrations from SSO, Active Directory, and device and policy management. This is a cloud directory system and will not require any kind of hardware setup other than installs on user machines.
Simple, quick to setup and works with so many platforms
What do you like best about the product?
The fact it's cloud-hosted, which means that we no longer have to have expensive dedicated hardware onsite. It also means administation and maintenance has reduced as we no logner have to deal with backups or system maintenace.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that fact that when a user account is imported the user instantly has to change their password. All of our users are imported via CSV from a seperate database so to import users and set the password we want them you use we have to use Powershell which means importing the users and then updating the password via Powershell, this is cumbersome.
I also do not like the fact that we cannot stop users from changing their own passwords, in education this is important as we may need to access a students account if we have concerns about their well being and we want to be able to do this without them knowing.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Apple's deprecation of open directory, we were looking for a replacement solution that didn't involve Active Directory. We also needed a solution that supported RADIUS and LDAP as well as manages our Google Workspace and M365 accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it first, there is a free 10 user plan, give this a go and see if it works with your infrastructure.

JumpCloud DaaS for the future
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a great product because it allows me to have a good amount of administrative control over our widely distributed workforce. There is nothing else quite like it that we could find.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a small number of outages recently. However, JumpCloud management has jumped right on the issue and is working to eliminate that downside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main issue we wanted to resolve was the ownership of our hardware in the field, JumpCloud allows us to secure the device remotely, should the need arise. It also allows us to move users quickly between machines in remote locations.
AD as it should be.
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is extremely simple to use but still a very powerful tool. I don't remember spending more than 10 seconds trying to find a feature on the admin dashboard. JumpCloud also saved us the time and effort of setting up and maintaining an AD server. We also use JumpCloud to inventory our machines, since it has a lot of useful information about each device.
What do you dislike about the product?
The process of remotely setting up a new device for an employee (especially new hires) is a little painful since it requires manual intervention from the user, but nothing that we couldn't work around with some clear instructions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1 - Keeping our machines under our control even though most employees work remotely.
2 - Keeping an inventory of our devices in a centralized place.
3 - Centralized credentials with the SS0 features (no more users sending dozens of emails when they forget one of the dozens of their passwords).
4 - Increased productivity of the IT admins since it simplified our AD needs.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend spending some time looking at their API docs. You will be able to automate several of your workflows with it.
Great Substitute for AD
What do you like best about the product?
The ability for every user to be able to log in to every other machine in the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't see who logged in where, when, etc. without paying extra for directory insights.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Directory services for customers that do not have or do not want on-prem AD.
Spread the Good news
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of remote monitoring, the ease of import from GSuite. Directory insights and fast response time
What do you dislike about the product?
Some conditional policies are still interfering. The Directory insight is still not descriptive enough to troubleshoot all issues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote AD, no physical access for onboarding, binding/restricting actions, detailed reports. Remote SW installations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It solves all your issues for remote monitoring, onboarding, and restrictions. Helps remote software installations and mangement of updates.
