KF Jumpcloud Review
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the design. the software is clean and easy to navigate. users are able to easily access their accounts and get the help they need. i also like the simplicity of pulling reports
What do you dislike about the product?
Some areas could be cleaned up to make the platform look a little more up to date. all in all it is clean but could definately be modernized. there is also some latency issues that could be fixed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the ability to address issues on the spot. it is easy to fix errors and collect reporting data. customers love having the ability to quickly get their problems resolved and get back to work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
try the software and make sure it meets all of your company needs. it is the leader in remote management so it has all of the tools you will need at your disposal and ready to be used
great product, but not for everyone
What do you like best about the product?
I like how fast you can synchronize your users and their rights across all of your platforms and devices
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I like it, but I noticed that sometimes it struggles to search devices by their names. Also, when installing it on a Linux device, be careful because it has a policy that disables ssh access (it checks "Enable Public Key Authentication," and you can't connect to a Linux machine via ssh before you disable this). Still, at this point, you have already lost access to the machine and can't synchronize new policies, so be careful if you have only ssh access to your device. At least it was my experience
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is synchronizing all your company users across your platforms. For example, if you have G Suite, you can synchronize users from there to azure, Jira, windows/Linux/macOS devices, and it saves so much time.
Jumpcloud - MDM made easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of JC. Want to integrate a Munki file server? Go for it! Want to adjust device policies on the fly? No problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the processes and workflows in jumpcloud can be a bit convoluted. Learning JC will likely require you to repeatedly brick and reset devices until you get the hang of things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to consistently track who has what hardware assets. JC has also allowed us to wipe devices that were stolen or lost in public places. JC has continued to be an invaluable resource for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a shot! Theres a decently big learning curve but once you figure it out you'll never want to go back!
Excellent Directory Service
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud allows me to use its functionality through its well-documented APIs and its powerful web GUI, giving me the option to automate repetitive tasks or to implement "one-offs." When I'm stumped using the services or am seeing failures, their support is quick to address my needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Google Workspaces gives me instant tech support via chat for $12/user/mo. I know JumpCloud isn't the behemoth of Google, but it would be great to see them move to that level of low-latency tech support someday.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud to authenticate users to M365, Google Workspaces, Radius WiFi, various LDAP-using servers, a small fleet of MacOS laptops, Ubuntu, and Windows 10 Pro hosts. It complements my use of Puppet to orchestrate configurations management. Also, since adding MDM support, I have been able to bring this critical function over to JumpCloud, replacing an expensive standalone service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to know what you need out of JumpCloud. Carefully read the documentation to understand what they offer, then reach out to them to ask for help.
The best cloud management identity platform
What do you like best about the product?
It's made life a lot simpler IT-wise. Before, we were doing things manually, and this has saved us a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as in depth as active directory is but it works great for what it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved managing device access. We have also been able to deploy policies quickly. This has increased our productivity ten fold.
Jumpcloud, LDAP like it should
What do you like best about the product?
I use Jumpcloud to manage both users on a large scale, so the ease of use has to be one of the most outstanding features. Super easy to add new groups, add people to those groups, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to log in separately as a regular user and an admin. It's understandable why this is required, but a hassle nonetheless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of having many credentials for many services. Alongside helping developers/ops people log into systems more easily without needing to set up passwords on individual systems.
All the benefits of on-prem identity management, in the cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud has fundamentally shifted the deployment of our hardware and identity management for the better. My team couldn't get along without it!
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, there are client connect issues only solved with a client re-installation. This is fairly infrequent (1/200 imaged systems).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has allowed us to manage a tight ou-hardware-privilege relationship with a fleet deployed all over the place. Self-service password resets are world-changing!
awesome dedicated support and hand-holding that makes every step on of the way a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use and simple and streamlined process and GUI - mdm and dedicated support was awesomely easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
non so far - if anything, the lack of support for some older windows
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
mdm maily on all sorts of devices and it was such a breeze - can't say enough good things about this quick and streamlined engagement
Great AD replacement
What do you like best about the product?
Alternative or replacement for on prem AD
Low cost of entry, and a free full featured trial account for less than 10 users
Has MDM features
Can replicate some Group Policy solutions
Multi platform (PC, Mac, Linux)

What do you dislike about the product?
not enough tutorials online
still a developing product so I would like to have more features over time.
Device MFA doesn't currently support Push Notifications, I would love to see that support soon!
more MDM controls would be nice as well

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have found a solution/alternative to our on prem AD.
I have also found a solution for MDM, thereby elimnating our JAMF requirement.
Excited to see developing MDM solution, eliminating our need for Duo.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
see if it can replace additional services other than just AD
Great product with new ideas
What do you like best about the product?
Once you understand the basics, the possibilities are endless
What do you dislike about the product?
Just needs more integration into other SSO systems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Had a client with a server issue. We were able to pull their creeks credentials into jumpcloud and tribe the server and more have cloud access to administer their domain
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. For the price you cannot go wrong
