Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sure I recommend to everyone to use Jumpcloud.
Never gave us the features that were sold to us
What do you like best about the product?
Most of the time it does the basic job, but doesn't do the complex controlling the people computer (mac) that we bough the system for
What do you dislike about the product?
Our people seem to get locked out when doing programming and the 2F causes us issues when they run their selenium scripts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
desktop control of the computer
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review what they have an only what comes out of the box, nothing about their roadmap
Great for managing users and computers

The UX some time is not intuitive for finding some features.

Senior QA engineer
What do you like best about the product?
It's in the cloud, and we don't need to worry about the power outage; we don't need to worry about the server crash, and it's support lots of API.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost, when we have more users, the cost would be more.

Cental online active directory.

Cental online active directory which has everything you need and it has lots of API.

At first, it can be hard to adjust to, but the IT team is excellent in assisting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized that it is beneficial to use this service as a way to manage better all task that I have to work through during my workday.
Very well made IdP that listens to customers
What do you like best about the product?
A customer-centric approach, where feature suggestions end up being actual features in a matter of weeks. Ease of use of the platform, simplicity, and transparent pricing options. Excellent audit logs and easy MDM installation on Apple devices, including local account takeover.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all SSO integrations have documentation which might make the implementation harder. Hardware key authentication is only available to administrators. Administrator and user portals are separated, which is sometimes a little tedious when testing new integrations as it requires a log-out and a log-in. MDM doesn't yet support Android.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By centralizing access management across multiple regions and offices into one platform and utilizing deep integrations and automation with our HR system, we were able to eliminate human error and mitigate risks associated with unauthorized access to systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize as many integrations and automation options as possible - especially within Directories and HR systems - to ensure automatic and straightforward access management and user provisioning.
Tool every IT Infrastructure should have. Easy to set up and replaces AD completely.
What do you like best about the product?
They weren't joking about replacing AD and becoming the next-gen product that any size company can use. Easy to use the product, well-documented guides, even a learning university to help ease of migration and using all the features. The support staff is knowledgeable, very friendly, and even do a remote session to walk you through challenges. What I love most is how many new features they are consistently pushing out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am still hoping they are working on a mobile app for the admin portal. Their mobile experience for the admin portal can bit a hard to navigate. Webpage/buttons getting clipped on my iPhone. However, their user portal is just fine on the mobile. MDM doesn't completely replace JAMF yet and features like hosting larger custom apps, pushing OS updates and other features can be a bit more fleshed out. Looking forward to more automated reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JumpCloud to replace AD and manage all our Macs, Windows, and Linux environments. Using their built-in Policy Management and MDM to lock down and secure all of our endpoints. Their IDP and SSO are so easy to use and set up. Role-based/privileged access management and advanced features such as conditional access by location, IP, and device. On/Off Boarding is simplified with JumpCloud with all their access in one centralized location.
Powerful AD Alternative in the Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
The platform comes with pre-made plug 'n play policies for all major platforms. Why bind a Mac to AD when the platforms just weren't meant for one another? I can confidently say that being an IT administrator through the pandemic would have been 10x more difficult without JumpCloud. This platform lets us continue driving major roadmap projects despite a remote workforce, such as migrating to JumpCloud MDM and deploying new apps via JumpCloud commands and VPP. These are very powerful features that allow us to professionalize our IT offering leaps and bounds beyond where we were. From allowing cross-platform users to self-service password rotations to querying the environment with the fantastic Powershell Module, JumpCloud is an impressive offering that has been rock solid for our organization. The great documentation never hurts, either!
What do you dislike about the product?
While I believe JumpCloud is a fantastic platform, there's always room for improvement. As of writing this review, the grouping and overall organizational system leave a lot to be desired. For example, there's currently no means of nesting groups, and there's no real concept of OU's. All groups sit at the 'root level' of the organization, and they rely on being bound to devices, policies, or applications. We would love to have a 'Finance' group or OU and then be able to nest 'Finance-FTE', 'Finance-Contractor', etc right within that Finance group or OU. This lack of "organizational structure" is one of the few things we believe AD does handle a bit better. It's been difficult for us to organize our user and device groups this way, as we have yet to find a super effective and easily searchable naming convention for our dozens of groups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being an IT administrator through a pandemic has been much easier with a robust and cross-platform offering like JumpCloud. We've been able to add key features to our organization, such as MDM, Zero Touch deployment, configurations/script logic, user self-service, and more, through a pandemic nonetheless! These features help us get machines into the hands of our users faster, more securely and also provide the user with a great experience.
Easy SSO and Access Control
What do you like best about the product?
The ease and speed that a user can be provisioned and assigned access to devices, systems, or services. Between Privileged Access Management and SSO integrations, we have used JumpCloud to better monitor and control access for users for our internal services and those we leverage with third parties.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of nested or subgroups for either devices or users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud has allowed us to control system and service access with a centralized approach. We have saved time in managing access and support requests by leveraging JumpCloud's PAM and SSO functionality. The support for 2FA in conjunction with SSO has relieved some of our security concerns and has allowed us to feel more at ease when integrating with other third-party services.
Great solution, especially for a remote workforce
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to run scripts on remote devices. The advent of covid brought the challenge or remote device management to the forefront. Fortunately, jumpcloud was able to meet and make work a who lot easier. Another thing to appreciate is the support. The time to respond is amazing and the quality of support we recieve especially with the customer support manager is awesome. Also, they are open to new feature suggestions to include on their roadmap
What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike the traditional active directory tools, the integration with 3rd party solutions is still limited, but I believe this will improve over time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
remote configuration, deployment of software, access monitoring
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just have a session to discuss what Jumpcloud can do for you. They are very transparent and will not withhold any information from you.
