JumpCloud Small Business Deployment
What do you like best about the product?
The JumpCloud Radius as a Service feature allows me to secure Wi-Fi authentication with WPA2 Enterprise Security and certificates without the need of an on-premises RADIUS server to manage. Users only have to manage a single set of credentials. OS Agnostic Directory as a Service to enable Single-Sign-On is pretty sweet!
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to push AD GPO-like policies doesn't seem to be there yet. The ability to push a firewall SSL certificate into a client's trusted certificate store would be helpful for SSL inspection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RADUIS as a Service for WiFi Authentication and WPA2 Enterprise Security
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JumpCloud has a lot of potential. It's not an enterprise-class directory service yet. However, if you're not a big Microsoft shop running on-prem AD servers and AzureAD it's definitely worth a look.
Jumpcloud makes life seamless
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud makes deployment more accessible and seamless to use
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not seen a reason not to dislike Jumpcloud
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes the directory as a service so seamless when we had migrations to it. Also, single sign-on, password policy, and IAM became easier.
Great ADaaS - Saved Us During the Pandemic
What do you like best about the product?
Cloud-based identity/resource management! Jumpcloud seemingly has everything an IT department will need to push compliance and governance across so many areas of IT business. Applications, Directories, Hardware, Package Deployment, SSO, and the list goes on.
What do you dislike about the product?
MacOS JumpCloud agent frequently de-syncs when the network changes. This is mostly an issue with the fact that MacOS does not allow connecting to a network from the login screen, but this causes frequent lockouts when our MacOS users travel. If their machine is offline for too long and the user is in a location where they have never connected to the internet they often get locked out at the MacOS login screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves a slew decentralized resource management issues related to COVID, or having a lack of on-prem infrastructure. JumpCloud was already a useful tool for us when we were on-prem, but when COVID hit JumpCloud kept the IT function of our business running smoothly as we transitioned to working from home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you don't have a directory service in your organization, there is no need to have any on-prem infrastructure with JumpCloud. Installing the agent takes a minute, then the device is managed in the JumpCloud dashboard. If you do have existing directories, JumpCloud can integrate with them pretty quickly.
An excellent cloud based LDAP solution.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface. Cloud availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Timer on scripts is too short for some operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are bringing multiple operating system farms under a single umbrella.
Securing wifi even easier
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of integration
Simplicity to add enterprise authentication to wifi deployment
Easy management of identities
Simplicity to add enterprise authentication to wifi deployment
Easy management of identities
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like more radius pops - ideally closer to my region
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wifi access and identity management
Management from anywhere
Management from anywhere
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely would consider Jumpcloud if looking to manage identity and not looking for the overhead of on prem or other more expensive solutions.
Makes it easy to not need Active Directory. Universal policies are great across multiple OS vendor
What do you like best about the product?
An easy user enrollment and control panel via the web console is such a time saver, and I had no idea what I was signing up for when they claimed it was easier to use than AD and GPO's. The simplicity of the interface leaves the competition in the dust. Group, User, and Device policy management is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
The admin and user consoles share the same URL. Such a small thing is overly irritating if you happen to have your password manager auto login to the console URL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can have a mobile workforce without the cost of the Microsoft ecosystem, no need to run VPNs for a local AD to be functional. AzureAD is not needed, and we chose a simple, much more cost-effective master directory than trying to merge multiple vendors for identity management.
Innovative
What do you like best about the product?
They handle directory and user management and make it easy
What do you dislike about the product?
They are still fairly new so some more features would be nice
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Handling user management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Looking for something lightweight, this is it
Great tool, great support
What do you like best about the product?
Management is really easy and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disked the belated support, but the response time has improved a lot lately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the offer to try this tool. It's worth it.
JumpCloud makes management of my users and devices significantly easier than with our old AD setup.
What do you like best about the product?
System insights, SSO, and configurations
What do you dislike about the product?
I have SPs that do not integrate natively with SSO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Migrate to an easy-to-manage directory and out of an old AD infrastructure and improve security via directory insights and SSO.
Jumpcloud makes SSO manageable for smaller companies
What do you like best about the product?
I love that there are no servers to manage, update or create. It's a true SaSS solution. I like the advanced features such as MFA enforcement policies
The pricing for small companies is really attractive. It helps getting started on the right foot from the get go

What do you dislike about the product?
* Lack of multiple Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URLs. Because of that we have duplicates in connections for users
* Lack of ability to hide some applications from the Web Portal for users (some applications need auth to be initiated from the app and not JumpCloud, therefore people cannot click on those apps on the JumpCloud portal)
* Lack of ability to hide some applications from the Web Portal for users (some applications need auth to be initiated from the app and not JumpCloud, therefore people cannot click on those apps on the JumpCloud portal)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing user access centrally to easily onboard/offboard team members
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start small and implement JumpCloud is a service that hasn't been distributed yet, so that people think JumpCloud is the usual way of authenticating. Once this is successful, you can add more software to it since the organization is already familiar with JumpCloud
