JumpCloud fills in a lot of gaps for companies that can't afford Active Directory.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy to deploy, and they're always coming out with more SSO apps and features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some output/export aspects I wish were a little more comprehensive, and it would be amazing if we could configure dynamic groups (for example, list every MacBook running macOS 10.13.x ) that you can then use to target updates rather than running update commands on *every* MacBook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Group management, access controls, laptop security policy, account provisioning and password lockout, whole-disk encryption, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend a fair amount of time educating your end-users about how important their JumpCloud password is and how frequently it'll be used. I had someone generate a 75 character ASCII password before they understood they'd need this same password to log in to their laptop. It was quickly changed. :-D

Very nice replacement for businesses looking into ditching AD on premise

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The service keeps growing and evolving, adding more features
You can start with free offerings and it provides you with a good sense of what you can get from the service
Neat integration with many cloud offerings such as SAML/SSO
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more integration with MDM and GPO (Group Policy)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to move from on-prem AD into a more cloud-centric solution for companies with a smaller budgets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See if the budget makes sense, at some point depending on the cost analysis it might be best to utilize Azure AD.

Easy Deployment, User Friendly

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the ability to manage users on multiple platforms is a must within an organization. AD works great for windows environments but what happens when you have Linux, MacOS and windows. For our organization this is where JC shines! love it
What do you dislike about the product?
i'm like ldap! this is great! until you try to set up ldap auth in vmware. :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
user based security when managing local accounts. We have users all over the world with various OS distributions. this allows us to get a wrap on user security and have peace of mind when keeping our intellectual property safe.

Jumpcloud has been a great alternative to Microsoft Active Directory

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works with both Windows and Mac. Very easy to use. Easy to set up users and devices. And we can connect our VPN to the user's account as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could add a photo to a user. And I want the MFA to support text messageing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have problems right now. The benefits are the fact that everything user-related is in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would strongly recommend it if you have a remote user base.
