Directory service in the cloud made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to get started. Create users, install clients, and magic happens.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the menus can be hard to decifer. Adding user to machines it counter intutive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was looking for a cloud replacement for AD for my home. Easy to manage kids machine access and permissions
Viable solution
What do you like best about the product?
Integrated with most major OS platforms; MAC, Windows, and most flavors of Linux.
Cloud-based directory as a service solution (no managing hardware).
SSO offers a broad range of "JIT" provisioning.

What do you dislike about the product?
Support is not very good at all. We've had a few times where we had a major outage, and they took hours before they helped us with premium support. We've also submitted various other tickets where they take a day or more to reach out to us. I understand they have many customers they help, but I feel like when someone is having a major issue they should be able to prioritize that above other things. Their communication has got better, but it stunk for a while. We had to send a nasty email to them to give us updates on things.
Reporting is lacking. The System Insights needs to be overhauled because the only insight that gives you is a per-host basis; there's no graph detailing all this data in a single view (60 Windows machines, 50 MACs, 20 Linux, etc), along with patch levels on those devices.
The agents they deploy are prone to issues on MACs.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed an authentication provider that's not AD. The benefits are they it fits our need for the wide range of devices we use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not many options for cloud-based DaaS if you run multiple OS's.
Made lockdown a lot simpler
What do you like best about the product?
That all the passwords are kept in-sync and that I can deploy software software simply using its chocolatey intergration
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding your own commands is a little trial and error, extra tools to help with this would be useful, currently, Windows Package Manager is not currently supported and there are no plans to support Chromebooks. It would be useful to add our own information to the portal too, such as information we have gathered using the remote commands system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we currently all our users are remote, it has helped onboard new users, bring unification to the machines and ensured when we go to a server, the tools we need are already there and installed
Longtime user - great product
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to set up large numbers of users in a short amount of time. Also easy to revoke access from users who quit or are terminated
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like a better MDM featureset, eventually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Biggest problem solved with JumpCloud is the centralized list of users, with quick and easy way to grant/deny access to multiple company systems in one place.
Excellent product
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to leverage Mac. Windows and Linux clients is great. The software management for Windows is excellent since they leverage the chocolatey package manager and the policy manager is a great tool to have to control your equipment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Changes are sometimes not reflected until after a restart which seems a bit slow in certain scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security is our number one concern and JumpCloud is a step in the right direction. The ability to push policies at an organizational level gives us the flexibility to focus more on work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their implementation engineers are very helpful in geting you up and running. They also allow you to join their Slack community for sharing ideas and techniques with other JumpCloud users.
JumpCloud makes Directory Services a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
The integrations between Google, MS365, and Active Directory.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more integration for the Mac but its getting there! New features coming out all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding and offboarding has become so much easier. Helping clients regardless of if they use Google or Microsoft for their directory helps us deliver consistent service.
My experience with JumpCloud is good.
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud as a platform to have the AD on the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jumpcloud is the lack of APIs. Most of the applications which are in the cloud should be powered with APIs as much as possible,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, I used JumpCloud to perform various POCs. It provides free access to play around.
Easy to manage infrastructure and on/off-boarding!
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use setting up new infrastructure with our existing JumpCloud user and group is fantastic and turns a long setup to minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to see a new user on-boarding flow / wizard to help users hit the ground running. (Users forgetting to add SSH keys is our biggest trip up)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up LDAP for authentication to our servers and virtualization management software hasn't been easier. We've been able to set up specific access for our sysadmins and engineers without having to individually manage each server.
Great replacement for onprem AD
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's very easy to setup and is much easier to administer than Active Directory is. In addition, it is easy to scale the solution for small teams as well as larger teams. The support team at JumpCloud has also been phenonemal.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides that I have encountered thus far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to get away from AD and still deploy policies to company computers and also be able to centrally manage them in one location.
A Robust Cloud Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has an Intuitive UI which makes navigation very easy for a Cloud admin.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't been able to spot a thing I don't like about Jumpcloud for now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I haven't deployed it to a real-life scenario, but as a lad testing environment, and so far, it has been great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'll definitely recommend JumpCloud to Network Admins to get their hands on it and eventually migrate their organization to it.
