    Non-Profit Organization Management

An active directory for the future

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's literally a one-stop shop for all IT needs. It's missing nothing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Windows Hello still worked with the device MFA enabled. Users must still type in their password on the lock screen even after MFA authentication. Touch ID still functions on MacBooks, so I am unsure why this is the case with Windows Hello.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have always depended on on-prem solutions using active directory.

After the pandemic forced all staff to work from home, this became impossible to manage as our hardware could not handle all our employees tunneling into our firewall. Further headaches would arise when they were locked out of their machines at home or forgot their passwords. Using jumpcloud, this has made life so much easier to administer all my users remotely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always contact support. They can answer ANY question you have and they also have incredible community support thru slack.

Finally able to retire Active Directory!

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Active Directory was the last on-premise software I had. I've been able to move *everything* else to cloud platforms. Very happy with Jumpcloud's cross-platform agent that allowed me to decommission Active Directory and have even better control over my endpoint identity - especially with remote workers.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that is extremely minor: The login screen animation on macOS is a little jittery. You can tell it isn't native. Definitely not a dealbreaker hah!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Two objectives: 1) Decommission Active Directory; 2) Better control over identity for remote workers.

JumpCloud works for us

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign rights to individual users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface was a little confusing at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating secure environments for users when working with particular clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to secure your workstation environment, JumpCloud is your best choice. It works well with Mac -based environments.

Easy set up, roll out and continuing adding features

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to come in to the product with little managed directory experience and quickly set up apps, SSO, RAIDUS and end point account management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their pricing and tiers of service has greatly expanded as their roadmap has grown. This may or may not align with the services you actually need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JumpCloud for all of our identity management, where available. From application SSO, to Google and Microsoft sync, to RAIDUS for VPN, LDAP for servers and JumpCloud agent on end points to manage local identity on computers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a cloud directory and identity management, JumpCloud should be on your short list of services to consider.

Simple UI for basic MDM

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is simple. Allows you to do basic MDM tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
When re-assigning devices the Agent can be glitchy in terms of changing permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Restrict user access to features allowing more control over the devices.

JumpCloud is a great Microsoft Alternative

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pre-packaged policies, that you can use to manage the environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it would auto login without logging into the portal, maybe via an agent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing non Active Directory environments.

Multicloud-ready DaaS

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud plug-and-plays to most platforms so it's almost a no-brainer for IT teams to have everything integrated through single sign-on.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike, really. Everything works perfectly so far! If anything, there are some new features I'd like to see in JumpCloud (they're on the roadmap already), but all features that are available today are really well created.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There were many: Reduced costs by centralizing IAM for all our platforms and products, super-quick software deployment with the bundled Chocolatey, MDM for Apple, policies for Windows, Mac and Linux... I believe the main advantage is to have all your IAM on a separate DaaS infrastructure with JumpCloud. This made possible for us to have a much quicker multi-cloud architecture, since all there is left for everyone to do was to focus on coding. SSO/SAML is key and JumpCloud does it really well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have about 15 years of experience on MS AD, and the speed and ease of use of JumpCloud are unmatched. In today's world of CASB/SASE, zero-trust, multifactor and biometric authentication mechanisms, the ONLY way to go is to detach your directory from your "main application infrastructure". If you intend to move your architecture to the cloud, JumpCloud is the easiest way of doing so if you don't want to worry about managing a critical infrastructure while having all the benefits of it and all the added advantages of having your authentication all in one place.

One stop shop for secure onboarding of assets and applications across organization.

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
System Insights and Remote setup of employee systems. Readily available community over slack which is helpful and available round the clock. Pre-defined SSO integrations for a variety of organization applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations with the custom applications are not that smooth and as obvious depends a lot on the third party vendor on what kind of subscription would be required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote System onboarding, Overall organization security compliance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering an SSO feature from JC, that works flawlessly. Do consider the investment that needs to be done on the third-party subscription level. That was a shocker for us. Also, the compatibility with Linux machines is limited as compared to Mac/Windows which is understood but something which you should consider before jumping into the decisions. The system information or insights that are available are good to start with but there is a different paid service that can be added as an add-on which provides more details.

Jumpcloud brings Active Directory to macOS

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most important feature for us is the ability to connect Microsoft Active Directory accounts to macOS. Its easy and intuitive to administrate and it offers much more!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! Its getting better with every update!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had the problem, adding several macOS clients to AD. Jumpcloud makes this possible.
