Best cloud directory platform.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Single sign on feature of JumpCloud is what I love the most. Apart from it below are the other features which I like:
1. Easy to use and implement and has a very powerful user management policies and a great user friendly UI.
2. Cross platform management is a charm. I do not need to remember or store the password of every platforms locally at my end thereby reducing my time to perform most tasks as an Sys Admin.
3. The license packages are very cost effective and reasonable.
4. As a system admin I have seen my users mostly struggling with logging into their accounts and often we come across issues where the users forget their passwords or their accounts get hacked. But since we migrated the users to JumpCloud since then the users are happy with the MFA feature in place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only think I dislike is when I have to change back and forth between User and Admin mode as that takes some time and sometimes the page gets stuck for some time.
Also its hard sometimes to find the Articles or Knowledge bases for some of the issues and thereby makes us to contact support and increase our wait time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My day to day task follows as below while using JumpCloud:
Migrating users and groups from one platform such as GSuite etc. to JumpCloud.
Monitoring the access logs of the users and keep a track of it.
Enable MFA and securing the user accounts to prevent unauthorised use and hack.
Creating and managing policies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want something very easy to manage and setup your Users accounts and directories then you should definitely give JumpCloud a try.

Excellent Directory Service!

  • February 19, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
We have really appreciated how JumpCloud leverages the cloud to provide affordable directory services and computer management. From ensuring every system is encrypted, to providing specific policies for users or computers, we've found JumpCloud very easy to use, deploy, and manage, especially for small businesses. Over the past few years, we've also been very impressed with the additional policies and security settings available, which make granular adjustments much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are two pain points which come to mind: (1) First, wish there was a multi-tenant dashboard where admins could log on and make global or tenant specific settings. While this is a pain point, honestly, in this regard, it's about the same as managing multiple M365 tenants, which currently has no viable multi-tenant capability. (2) Second, which it's very affordable for small businesses with less than 10 devices, after that point, the pricing seems a little expensive. Especially considering many small businesses need M365 anyway, which includes Azure Active Directory ((AAD), so the use-case scenario becomes: why not just use AAD instead? While we love JumpCloud for the small business niche, it's been more difficult to justify for large businesses or when small businesses grow, and if it becomes cost prohibitive at growth, why not plan in advance for that by going with AAD if future growth seems possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One main problem that JumpCloud solves is quickly deploying computer and user management for today's mobile workforce. An account can be created and within minutes deployed to remote systems, and policies extended to either users or computers. With the mobile devices being used from almost anywhere, the encryption ability is very very valuable to ensure company data is encrypted. Another benefit has been to be able to centrally manage policies, for example, browser settings, firewall settings, Cortana, Edge, OneDrive, etc, the possibilities are almost endless and were easy to deploy!

Good experience outside of AD/AAD

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I’m loving the fact that the solution is fully cross platform and has robust management and policy features—far more than expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of provider support. While there are a lot of providers, the list is not nearly as broad or robust as Azure at the moment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly cross-platform support, with both linux and a few mac servers/endpoints

Most effective cloud directory in the market

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of implementation, rich help documents, and superb support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of reporting for compliance and identity management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a cloud-first company and needed true cloud-native directory services that can handle SSO, LDAP, MFA, Conditional Access, Multi-OS device management, MDM, and more. JumpCloud delivered all and secured our workforce and AAA.

Not perfect, but the future of managing a modern, mixed environment

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Perfect for hybrid Windows/Mac environment. Great feature set, and improving monthly. Combines Identity and Device Management in one.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still not as featured as Active Directory/Azure. Support has become sub-standard so you'll need to figure out most problems yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like many businesses, we moved into becoming fully remote. We also have an almost 50/50 split Mac/Windows environment and have no physical infrastructure. JumpCloud was an ideal solution to manage the hardware, as well as Identity Management. We've connected many of the core applications the company uses with SSO and the process for on-boarding/off-boarding employees has been greatly improved. It's enabled us to connect a majority of the applications we use with SSO which greatly simplifies credential management. That, combined with the device management and MDM is everything one needs as an IT manager in a remote-based company.

JumpCloud makes things very easy

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It takes a very complex topic - AAA - and provides a reasonably simple, reusable resource to get it implemented pretty much everywhere I need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I don't know more about some of the functions. Another feature I'd like to see is a way to control which apps can exist on a client.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The big problem Jumpcloud solved for us was Authentication. The largest benefit is that we're approaching Single Sign On - though we still have some work to do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it - you won't regret it.
