JumpCloud is the solution I needed for a hard to solve problem

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to remotely manage Windows devices is the key factor to me. Untill JumpCloud, solutions have either been complicated, expensive or both. JumpCloud is neither.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main dislike is the lack of support for Android devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have successfully been able to safeguard our remote Windows devices again loss and theft by the ability to remotely lock and shutdown.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this product to anyone interested in cloud directory, independence from active directory, and ease of use.

JumpCloud onnects everything you need so fast.

What do you like best about the product?
Using Jumpcloud is very helpful since it makes us to manage all the DB and data analysis tools such as HUE and DataGrip. These are not only very convenient but also very efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be a bit confusing when you sign up but if your company has registered you then every process will be super fast. Keep remembering your username and password ;)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What I am dealing with is merging the data you need from the multiple schema and extract the exact data you need. JumpCloud connects everything so it definitely makes things easier.

Macs and PCs on the same tool. Cross platform delight.

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have both my macs and pcs on the same tool - I can see what devices each person has, and secure the devices if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new abilities to push windows applications make me jealous for my macs. I hope the ability to remotely install software on Macs will be coming soon (11.1 breaks most of the scripting I used to be able to do.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A comprehensive list of the equipment we own, and being able to secure those devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
take advantage of the free period/ 10 users.

Infrastructure-less Active Directory

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We don't need to maintain any servers or software other than installing the JumpCloud client on our Windows, Mac, and Linux machines. This makes deploying user access very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud has a lot of features and is starting to compete with some other vendors we use in the computer management space. Might have to jump all in with JumpCloud at some point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps us solve user account creation and access issues. Single Sign-on/LDAP for internal and external apps. We have dabbled with RADIUS, but haven't implemented yet. Love how easy it is to bring on new users with our company or remove access when it is no longer needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at working with your third party vendor to get better than list price.

Easy for users, simply to administrate, makes authentication easier

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We don't need an Active Directory to turn user accounts into universal accounts. The web administration makes it easy to set up users, systems, and privileges.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are at the mercy of a web connection on a system that is remote and old. There is no good way to have someone log into an older system on a new wifi network. But, not sure there is anything Jumpcloud can do about that weird use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily enroll new systems of various OS's into a centralized administration system.
We save money and time.

Good tool to start with for a growing organisation

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Jumpcloud is very simple to use.
- It supports Mac, Linux, and Windows. Great for a company that is looking to use it across the company on many computers.
- Centralised management helps in making sure that you have total control over what is running and whatnot.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Interface can sometimes be slow and unresponsive

Nothing besides that. It is easy to use and effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized policy management for the laptops was a big hassle and Jumpcloud helped in solving that not only for Macs but also for Windows and Linux all from one single console which was a big win for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- Really good when you are starting up and need to meet compliance requirements.
- When you have a small team and tons of things to manage, this will be the right tool to start with and you can always expand to include more no. of your users.
- Do check the price before rolling it out to everyone, it might come as a shock at some point of time
- Buy only the features you plan to use. They have a lot of features which you might never plan to use.

Recommended for all companies which are planning to start centralised management and who are looking for quick compliance.

LDAP as a service

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Fast and easy setup. We have been ready to go in minutes.
Jumpcloud is just a service we consume, without the hassle to own it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing we really dislike, but we are just using LDAP, wich is one targeted feature among a rich offering, so maybe what we do with JumpCloud is not representative of what usually other users do, and we never had the opportunity to find any downside..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Due to a software limitation, we had no other option than LDAP to authenticate external users and we were looking at something super easy to implement.
Since it is cloud based, we saved the time to setup a proper environment for Identity Management. In the context we have been working, alternative would have been to setup a Microsoft Active Directory that would have required a dedicated VM, and then to link it to Oracle Cloud Identity Management. This is a way we explored and we found out that not only the one time cost for implementation was important with a tricky setup, but there was also the running cost of one additional VM for hosting the Active Directory.
Finally, with JumpCloud, we save implementation time and recurring cost. It simply works.
New users are setup in minutes, they are self-sufficient for managing for reseting their password, we never had to spend even one minute to support them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate to leverage on the JumpCloud Free offering which allows you to test drive all functionnalities for a small number of users. This is what we did for our POC. Next step for us was to move to a paid accound and we were ready to go.

Feature rich and easy to use solution for centralised authentication

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud was super easy to set up, the help-files and walkthroughs are a great help. The pricing model is also very fair for small users like ourselves, despite enterprise grade functionality. Jumpcloud lets us avoid having to manage any Windows servers or Active Directory.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly there's nothing I dislike about Jumpcloud at the moment. Saying that, we have barely scratched the surface of what it can actually do. We managed to achieve what we need from it with only a small part of the featureset, so I cant speak to what it is like for more complex use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jumpcloud as a central point of authentication for our IT systems. We run a couple of NAS at different sites, plus our Google For Business accounts and some other apps. Jumpcloud allows us our users to access their drives on the NAS using the same login details as their Google emails. If they change their password, the NAS knows. This simplifies things to a great extent. We have a mix of linux and windows clients, we like to avoid windows where possible and we dont want to run a windows server for Active Directory, Jumpcloud is the perfect alternative.

Intergrated into our business

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Within our business we have mac, windows and linux devices. We needed a reliable service which connected all of those devices to Office 365 user directory. Also to add various group permissions which would normally be own achieved through manual setup on a Mac.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the onboarding process with the agent could be slicker. But that is really splitting hairs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a solution which we could rely on for a business which has no premises and has people across the globe working remotely. We needed Single directory access, group policy with centralised control.

Since we have used it, software and hardware inventory have came onboard and Apple MDM. In the future if software builds were added like the windows options, that would be fantastic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it, its great!
