Everything I wanted AD to be and more
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it integrates not only with my AD but also with so many platforms we use online. I also find the interface a lot more friendly and easy to use when onboarding new users or making changes to current groups and policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks interface in my user´s native language (Portuguese)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issues with remote work access control, security policy management for several online systems was very confusing to manage before we brought the solution in.
The single most important benefit involves our Mac and Linux users being supported and managed in a much more agile and efficient way. Also being able to manage users access to online tools such as Office 365 and Slack.

A NEW ERA OF DIRECTORY SERVICES
What do you like best about the product?
SCALABILITY, UPTIME, CONDITIONAL POLICIES, AND INTEGRATIONS. THE SUPPORT STAFF ARE VERY COMPREHENSIVE AND SPECIALIZED
What do you dislike about the product?
MDM MUST IMPROVEMENTS BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ANY CUSTOMIZE APP STORE FOR EXAMPLE AND AS A PLUS, ANY ANTI-MALWARE OR ENDPOINT SOLUTION
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PRACTICALLY ALL OUR CUSTOMERS CHANGED THEIR CHAOTIC ACTIVE DIRECTORY AND VERY HAPPY WITH JUMPCLOUD
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Become to the right side of the force
Exactly what it says it does!
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to coordinate workforce between points including remote workers without relying on internal services. This has been a very big deal for us with the pandemic going on and being forced to adjust to many of our workers going remote who never previously even were considered for that. Along with a cloud based voip system we have been moving a lower office footprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it was missing some (important for us) 3rd party integrations, I'm sure they will be along soon enough. They seem to be actively working to expand their scope all the time. I was impressed with the active cycle of product development but some of the active directory integrations were key for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote workers especially are far easier to organize and manage through jumpcloud and this has save us tons of time for problems with vpn and login issues, especially with much of our workforce going remote during the pandemic. It was fast to setup and implement for the workers we first assigned to this and seems to manage it exactly as they said. The fact that it is Cloud based has been of great help as we had to purchase new laptops to manage the changes during the last year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure it fits your needs. This seems to work for many companies but some may be forced to use certain aspects of active directory. I found their sales people knowledgeable and a great resources in getting the most our of the products.
Great tool and very affordable
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to get started, well documented and fair pricing gives me the time to learn the platform before adding customers
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes installing the client and connecting can have issues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some industries require strong logins and have guidelines around user authentication. Implementing JC with Google has simplified user management without incurring excessive costs
Jumpcloud solved our authentication challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud solved our authentication challenges without the need for a Windows Active Directory server. Windows clients of all types can share logins and permissions. When software updates are needed, it's very easy to temporarily grant administrator access to a user, and then refer to standard user. When users move, it's easy to add and remove them from machines. Changes to logins and passwords are immediate, and everything still works if network connectivity is lost.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setting of Windows policies works, but is sometimes very confusing. Some of this is due to the nature of Windows, but they could do a better job of abstracting it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud consolidated our windows authentication and policy management without the need of a windows server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is so easy to try and setup, I recommend you just test with a free account and small number of devices.
Amazing Directory Service and Management Tool for Distributed Workforces!
What do you like best about the product?
Works on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS.) The Linux support is probably the most interesting as most directory services do not support Linux as well as Jumpcloud does. Linux for others is usually an afterthought.
What do you dislike about the product?
MFA support on Linux still needs some work. Works great for SSH connections, not Linux systems used as a desktop/workstation. And support more diverse Linux Distros.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of users and systems in a fully remote office for security and compliance. We were able to easily transition from an in the office environment to everyone remote.
Modern mdm, directory and sso for a modern world
What do you like best about the product?
I love the admin console. It is easy to use, very good looking, and did I mention easy to use?? Everything is super easy to find and it has only gotten better through the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do hate the lack of a more admx style group policy. There are not a lot of things built in for Windows to control. If you need gpo, stick with traditional AD or go hybrid with this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have rid my onprem ad server for this and have not looked back. You get around not having the option to push traditional GPOs by creating scripts in the directory. It has been nice to use for WiFi authentication and VPN authentication. You don't have to worry about port forwards to on prem servers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend you try hybrid at first if you are currently with Active Directory to get used to how things are set up in the console.
JumpCloud allows for efficient and effective management of our Mac OS based IT infrastructure.
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud offers an excellent solution for cross platform MDM. This allows us to enforce certain policies in our business that help comply with privacy legislation (e.g. password policies). In addition, JumpCloud enables easy management of all our devices. We can now track all hardware in a single environment. Finally, the cloud directory offered by JumpCloud enables all of our team members to login into multiple devices with the same credentials.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have incremental pricing once you go beyond 10 users/devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Cloud directory
- MDM for Mac OS devices
- LDAP sync with on-prem server
