Wonderfully Easy To Use

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The cost effectiveness and ease of use of the services and integrations. It is very easy to set up and get running for just about any environment. User security is very scalable, and it is feature rich. I like that I can integrate it with computers and machines for simplified login, as well as link it to our Google Workspaces (formerly GSuite) service. The pricing, as mentioned earlier, is a real game changer for us, and we find it to be a significant factor for anybody on a tight budget.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally wish there could be some more customizations in terms of company branding in emails and portal for users. I feel this way in terms of adding a company logo in the user portal, and customizing the email addresses for communications regarding JumpCloud to employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the need for on site RADIUS and the benefits are eternal with the ease of the service. Benefits I have realized are the need of not having to have on site equipment, nor having to worry about certificate authorities, as the certificate is in this case taken care of by JumpCloud.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is seamless to use and an absolute breeze for hosted RADIUS and user security, such as 2FA. If you use Microsoft Office or Google Workspaces, this is also an easy integration, as well as an easy integration for computers. It really brings the workplace into one.

The Backbone of our IT Infrastructure

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud provides the controls, security, and insights into the state of our workstations, spanning Mac, Windows, and Linux, regardless of location. Having transitioned to a remote-first workplace with employees around the country, this is critical for us. Through the use of application integrations and single sign-on capabilities, we have been able to significantly reduce the number of passwords our users need to manage and have streamlined the end-user experience while simultaneously improving security. JumpCloud has helped us meet and maintain security and compliance requirements through access controls, workstation policies, and software configurations.

We also really appreciate their openness and candid nature of communications. They maintain a good community through their Slack Lounge and Community pages, hold a weekly IT Hour Crowdcast, and frequently run webinars and fireside chats/AMAs. Senior leadership, including the CEO, often participates and interacts with the community. We have used JumpCloud for nearly five years, and through their continued focus on community, we have made lasting connections with JumpCloud employees and others within the community.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very little. There remain some areas where additional customization and organization would be appreciated. The reporting aspects are also lacking. JumpCloud contains a wealth of information about our devices, but accessing that information often involves running commands against the API via Powershell. It's manageable but not nearly as convenient as having a robust, customizable reporting solution built into the Admin Console. When new features are rolled out, they sometimes take the minimum viable product methodology a little too far. It's OK to roll out a feature lite iteration for early access or beta testing, but when you expect customers to pay for (some) new features as add-ons, they should be more feature complete. But those criticisms aside, the platform's core functionality is rock solid and we are very happy with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized management of user and computer accounts. Cloud-based management requiring no on-site infrastructure other than having systems connected to the internet. Ease of management and deployment. Software installation, system policies, application integrations, and SSO to reduce our number of passwords.

A Directory to Rule Them All

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has allowed us to move from all of our directory services being on-premise to everything being in the "cloud". The ease of migration from our on-premise Active Directory and RADIUS servers made this whole process painless. Their support is top notch and helped us through the whole process. We are an all Mac and iPad environment but it's great to know that if we ever decided to move elsewhere that they have support for Windows and Linux. They are constantly improving on their product based on customer feedback which feels great as a customer. Once you get beyond their Web UI, they allow you to change settings even further via their powershell module.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud is still missing some features that I would like to see but I know they are constantly expanding. JumpCloud recently came out with their directory insights and system insights features but instead of including them with their base product they required you to pay extra to have access to such a critical feature. JumpCloud also recently came out with new pricing plans for their products that will increase our existing prices to add the directory insights and system insights features to our plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our on-premise servers were coming end of life and we knew that in this ever "cloud" based world that we needed to look beyond on-premise directories. Previously people couldn't update their passwords unless they were on-premise or connected via VPN to our network. That is no longer the case and people can change their passwords from anywhere with a network connection. This also solved our issue of binding our Macs to Active Directory and going to a non-bound Mac which has stopped a lot of headaches!

Jumpcloud Directory service for small business

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud was easy to setup. It supports all the OS we need and they are very responsive with help when needed
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides so far. It works well for us
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a directory service and didn't want to implement AD. We mainly use xaaS for LoB apps. Jumpcloud allows us to control our users without having to invest in a largely redundant AD infrastructure
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the eval for Jumpcloud before you purchase. We tried before we implemented and also looked at a couple of other providers in this area. Jumpcloud have a free 10 user trial available and we made good use of that.

Jumpcloud IT Management

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite features of Jumpcloud are the User Management and Device Management. There are also a ton of support documents to help you achieve what you are trying to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only two simple changes I would like to see in Jumpcloud. I would like to see ability to add a larger file to the commands pushed out to managed devices in Jumpcloud. I would also like to see the admin's ability to stay logged in under one login (admin and user). There are times when I have to login to an application while I am logged in as administrator and it resets my Jumpcloud session to a user account instead of the admin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Jumpcloud for SSO which has tremendously helped in the case of resetting passwords. We are now working on using Jumpcloud to set up new devices with little to no hands on the new device. The MDM services included with Jumpcloud cut back the time it takes to set up new devices
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read documentation that Jumpcloud provides when you are looking to do something new. Their documentation will help you to achieve your goals with little to no error.

JumpCloud is a great solution for cloud directory service

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is awesome as a centralized identity management system that allows us to securely access most of our company’s systems using one set of credentials.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud can improve its SSO functionality, and this may be more of a request to improve the choice of connectors and JIT provisioning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At our org, we have a lot of moving parts and we are remote, so having a secure, centralized directory and the ability to provision users and groups is amazing. We will never go on-prem since we have JumpCloud.

What do you dislike about the product?
Better latency at times and support for more obscure devices
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able keep track of directory assets.

How do you Replace AD, add Security, and introduce new services efficiently? JumpCloud is how!

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The single portal for everything is the key here. I spent weeks researching different Identity Providers, MFA Providers, and Platforms to manage tasks for our organization. Our need was for a cloud-based solution to replace an AD authentication method that would integrate with Users, Devices, VPN, WiFi, and any other hardware devices that we currently have on -prem.
Our timeframe was accelerated on the purchase and implementation phase, and the cost of building a new cloud-based AD, not to mention the time associated with testing, managing, and maintenance was not attractive. I started a demo of JumpCloud, quickly set up a test-bed of users, and was blown away at the additional features that JumpCloud has.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a single thing I can pinpoint that I do not like, but the addition of WIndows based MDM would be a very nice feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able unify our user logins, across multiple systems, hardware, integrate WPA Enterprise, MFA, gain insight into user devices that we have never had before.

    Computer Software

LDAP in the cloud

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The webgui means there's no need to learn how to write LDIF structures first.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's got to be limitations, but I haven't hit any yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No need to manage our own OpenLDAP server anymore: no more expert knowledge required. And as a SaaS solution means it's much easier to integrate with other SaaS and on premise products.

Perfect Active Directory Replacement

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easily manage devices without Active Directory
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup is a little cumbersome, but once setup its rock solid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving clients off on premise servers, allows management of devices
