Phenomenal assessment solution especially for university recruiting!

  • June 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to send out a standardized assessment and get certified results back has made our university recruiting process a joy. Before CodeSignal, we were forced to review thousands of student resumes, discard most of them for very subjective reasons and send the rest to be reviewed by our hiring managers.

Now we send everyone who applies or expresses interest in the company a CodeSignal Certification request and based on their Coding Score we move them to an onsite interview. How beautiful is that? Saves us a lot of engineering and recruiting time and finds for us hidden gems that we would have never been able to find purely based on resumes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had a better integration with Yello since that would make our process even faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Streaming the process for engineers and recruiters
- Build a more diverse pipeline of candidates and eliminate resumes based biases
- Hire great new grad engineers in less time and while spending less money

Great Website for Learning a New Language

  • June 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I spend a lot of time in arcade mode which has small problems testing distinct skill sets. Completing a few a day feels like real accomplishment and keeps me coming back! I love how you can see solutions from other users once you've completed a problem, helping me to learn ways to make my code cleaner and more succinct. I feel like I'm really becoming a better programmer. Problem sets don't require you to have an in-depth understanding of a bunch of different libraries, which is great, but you're free to implement any modules you like to make the problem sets easier!
What do you dislike about the product?
Small nit, but a few of the questions could be better worded, it's sometimes hard to pick up on the parameters of the question without rereading the question a couple times. Also, need to add mobile support! Would love to use on my commute.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm learning to code in python, a language that was very foreign to me, before starting Code Signal's problem sets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended. Have used many other code schools, this is my favorite.

What do you like best about the product?
- Problems similar to competitive programming contests
- Companies bots
What do you dislike about the product?
- Most of the questions in tournaments are repeated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used CodeSignal to practice problem solving and train algorithmic skills. We also used some of the problems for our internal interview process.

The best place to boost your algorithmic skills

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy at most interview preparation section because there are a lot of problems with short description. Also I like the arcade because there are funny tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a link to the theoretical material attached to the complex tasks, and also more arcade sections (not only for python and sql).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving problems from all sections. Different sections have different benefits. Interview preparation section learns you to solve hard tasks, in arcade you can practice with different languages, in tournaments you can boost your speed of solving.

This is an addictive playground for programmers.

What do you like best about the product?
Companies can find talented and valuable problem solvers on this platform.
Programmers can learn and compete; at the same time, they can spark the interest of future employers. You can solve challenges in any programing language, CodeSignal supports 38 languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if CodeSignal would send "swag" from sponsor companies as a reward for acquired points. I really want to take Certified Assessment (proctored assessment) to receive a certified report which I can use when applying for a job, but this is available only for students with .edu email address. :(( Why I can't pay for it with my XP points?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving all of the daily challenges. Along the way, I am learning new tricks and the speed of my programming is increasing. I also like Forum, where I can ask other CodeSignalers question about CodeSignal.

Great site to get into coding

  • June 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal offers a large selection of programming languages in their online editor, which is great.
The programming challenges on the site come in different levels of difficulty, and you can even use "credits" (that you earn by completing challenges online) to check solutions if you get stuck.
Each programming challenge also has a comment section where you can consult with the community - which is very helpful in my experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The site doesn't have any support for mobile layout \ a mobile app (yet?)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using the site to get back into the habit of solving programming challenges and getting into the problem-solving "mindset" that is needed in programming job interviews.

A fun way to learn new languages and algorithms

  • May 31, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the diversity of problems available and the many formats. The arcade is fun to do in your free time and I am currently enjoying getting better at SQL with it. I also enjoy the coding challenges and seeing the many crazy solutions that are thought up as well as thinking of my own. Finally, they have an excellent interview preparation section that I will definitely be taking advantage of for any future interviews I have.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is the omission of time as a heuristic in the coding challenges. I like the character count to, but I would also enjoy seeing meaningful solutions that are fast. I would also like it if coins could be used for something other than unlocking solutions. I feel as if it would provide even more incentive for others to use your site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now, I am just using it for fun and to keep my Python and C++ sharp. I plan to use it in the future to learn more programming languages as I evolve as a Software Engineer and I realize that it is the perfect site for this through my current learning of SQL through them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggest you use this if you want to learn a new programming language.

Great platform for learning and practice!

  • May 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Codesignal has been a great resource for learning, you have a lot of programming languages at your disposal to improve your skills. There are a lot of fun problems to solve, from easy to hard. Some problems do not accept the straight forward solution so you need to approach them differently and in that learning curve you will acquire knowledge about time and space complexity.
The UI is intuitive and the build-in Editor for solving programming tasks has great features such as code completion, coloring themes and editor modes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I´ve been a user for several years, and one of the things a like the most is the Challenge section, but i think this section has been a little bit forgotten by the company, there used to be theme challenges, these were problems related with certain programming topics and they were really great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Practice makes perfect. I use CodeSignal as a practice platform which has improved my algorithmic skills.
I have discovered new programming concepts and this has given me a broader image of how to tackle certain problems.
