Best Code Practicing Platform

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal has a very intuitive UI which can help beginners to practice and advance easily. It has arcade mode, that's like a story mode which opens up each level once the previous questions are completed. This unlocking feature helps user to do more practice. Not only this but small 10 minute tourney s helps user to perform better as user feels competitive and keeps on practicing more. CodeSignal also have short program for Company Interviews and question s ranging from easy to medium to hard. In a nutshell, CodeSignal has done a wonderful job in making code practicing interesting, intuitive and fun to learn and practice. The questions target to develop users skill one by one and one can always use those skills sharpened to solve larger problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is close to perfect. Even the friends feature is very interesting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do everything as I am preparing for company interviews, I use arcade, tourney, company tests, everyday question.

Great resource for algorithm practice

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using CodeSignal for a few months now and I've really enjoyed my time with it. It's UI is much better than Leetcode, Hackerrank, and other competitors. I like how it starts out fairly easy, but gets progressively hard. I also like to switch between the Arcade section for general questions and the Interview Prep section which gives real world interview questions from many tech companies. And after solving a question, I love to peruse the highest rated community answers to learn from much better coders than me.
What do you dislike about the product?
The weekly challenges are filled with many copy/paste questions, and most can be easily solved in seconds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a self taught developer, my algorithm and data structure skills were very weak, but by using CodeSignal I definitely see an improvement. For the price of free, CodeSignal has without a doubt been my favorite resource for casually improving my algorithm and data structure skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to answer most questions in at least 2 different ways. After answering questions, take a look at the community answers to learn tips and tricks from other users. The top few community answers aren't my favorite as they sacrifice readability for conciseness, but there is still a lot you can learn from others. Also, I highly recommend having someone else to compete with. Try to push each other to solve more and more problems and that will really keep you motivated.

Learning to code on AppSignal

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how there is a large variety of questions on code signal. For a programming language that you have basic knowledge of and understand, CodeSignal is a great resource. For a language you are trying to learn from scratch, it is pretty difficult.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how there isn't direction or a logical learning plan for coding. Perhaps this website is meant for intermediate coders, but I would have appreciated more resources on learning how to code or the basics of the language so I could keep up with the lesson plans.

You can see it in the voting systems, where some receive many more dislikes than likes. Sometimes it's due to the wording of the question or for me a lack of direction on what the question wants us to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving questions using algorithms. I really like how you can see other peoples answers and improve your own code.

I've tried MySQL and Javascript.

The best gym for coders to keep up a fresh and sharp coding skill

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is super clean and it's super fast to start solving a problem. You have many options with different sections where beginners or experts can have fun. I like on my free times picking one problem and solving it just for fun. It helps me to keep my algorithm solver skill sharp. I like the gamification experience it gives you, with points and challenges that makes you wanting to solve more and more challenges.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss a dedicated section to learn algorithms, with videos, tutorials and advices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Company Challenges and Challenges are my favorites. The last problem I solved that I liked most was blockStorageRewrites for PureStorare company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Regardless your intentions CodeSignal can help you, even when just for fun or when you are struggling to rock a coding interview.

Ideal for testing candidates

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal is very easy to use, super fast to get started with and has saved our recruiting team countless hours since we've implemented it.

What I like the most is the ability to put the assessments at the very top of the funnel and find candidates we wouldn't have considered otherwise. It's not only the right thing to do but has helped us scale our top of the funnel without spending a lot of time and money with expensive recruiting agencies. We just advetise our job posting on all platforms, get thousands of candidates and then ask them to complete a General Coding Assessment through CodeSignal.

This way we are not discriminating using Resumes and giving everyone a fair chance while hiring an awesome team of engineers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major but I'd love to see Machine Learning certifications on CodeSignal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Saving recruiting time spent on unqualified candidates.
- Increasing our top of the funnel by tapping into candidate pools we weren't considering before.
- Increasing diversity in the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are hiring for engineers at a scale you have to consider using CodeSignal. It makes life much easier.

My Favorite Code Practice Site!

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used quite a few code practice sites and as my title says, CodeSignal is my favorite. I find the UI to be quick and easy to understand. I like that CodeSignal doesn't just have random user-generated challenges but also has guided ones as in the Arcade, Interview Practice, and Company Challenges. I also really like the code score feature as it gives you a general reference as to your current knowledge and whether you are improving over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had more learning reference material, not necessarily on specific languages but for general data structures and algorithms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do a combination of Arcade, Random Challenges, and Interview Practice. I find that all of them help to keep me sharp for interviews as well as cut down on the amount of time I end up stuck on a specific problem when coding real work. Also, as I am a mostly self-taught developer, I find the topics covered in the interview practice section invaluable.

A beautiful - well structured application for every developer to spend time on

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Beautiful user interface, well structured categories of problems, real interview problems to solve from big companies, tournaments to compete with other developers, experience / level ranking system, straight communication with other developers through the application itself, reviewing others' people code in problems you face too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that the daily challenges have become ridiculously easy and there is a lack of challenging daily problems now, I also liked the "dev vs dev" concept (those times were codesignal was "codefights"), which do not exist anymore since the business plan of the platform has changed as I read.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use CodeSignal as a brain-teaser that helps me keep my mind in shape and my algorithmic skills, I also enjoy solving Interview challenges to realize the level I am. Code review of other developers solution is also something I enjoy, it is very interesting to see how other people think on the same problem and the coding style they apply to solve it.

Codesignal definitely helped me prepare for my interviews

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the problems are real interview problems. Afterwards, you can see what the other solutions are like.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be a timer on each question so I know how long I spent on it. There also needs to be a better than social scoring mechanism for the past answers, some answers are better but because they are newer they don't get the votes they need to be the highest answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It for sure helped me prepare for interviews and let me know where my strengths and weaknesses were.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It does feel a bit like the platform is dying, and the questions need refreshing. However still pretty good.

A great tool for keeping your skills up to date

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Great product that stands out among the variety of similar options out there
- A wide variety of coding problems and tracks
- Gamified experience that motivates you to come back and make progress every day
- A social component that keeps users engaged and motivates discussion that ultimately gives you a fresh perspective to solving problems
- Love the daily challenge and tournaments mode that give you new problems to solve on a regular basis
What do you dislike about the product?
- The daily challenge focuses on the length of the solutions, I'd love to see different "modes" where you can get more complex problems or focus on improving the performance of problems you've already solved in the past
- The social features can be improved a bit to make it easier to track and participate in discussions and conversations
- I'd love to see more tracks
- I'd love to see editorial content that goes in details on some of the common challenges or offers information on common cs topics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to improve my algorithms and data structures problem solving ability considerably since I started using CodeSignal. I love the gamified experience, which keeps me engaged and coming back to solve more challenges every day. I've used similar websites in the past (leetcode, hackerrank, geeksforgeeks etc), but CodeSignal has been the most polished and engaging option for me so far. Keep up the great work!
