What do you like best about the product?
Grammarly is a well-known writing tool that hunts down spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes as you type. Its explanations are straightforward and usually make your sentences read more smoothly. The free plan covers everyday errors, but upgrading to premium unlocks deeper checks for tone, style, and even plagiarism. All in all, Grammarly is simple to set up and serves students, office workers, and anyone else who wants cleaner, error-free writing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, Grammarly can come off as a bit too strict, but honestly, that’s a good thing! It really encourages you to improve your writing skills
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scans your writing against billions of web pages and academic papers. It helps you catch any accidental copying, ensuring that your work is original and properly cited. This not only saves you from potential copyright headaches but also enhances your credibility!

Grammarly — A Trusty Editor with an Occasionally Overzealous Pen

What do you like best about the product?
What It Gets Right
- Grammar & Spelling Checks: Consistently accurate in flagging typos and grammatical issues, it functions like a tireless proofreader.
- APA Citation Support: Extremely useful in academic writing, especially when adhering to strict citation standards like APA.
- Ease of Use: The browser extension and Word add-in are lightweight and unobtrusive, offering real-time feedback without disrupting workflow.
- Tone & Clarity Suggestions: Often helpful when refining emails or documents to ensure they hit the intended note with the audience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Where It Misses the Mark
- Rigid Voice Preferences: Grammarly favors active voice with a near-religious fervor. As someone trained in legal reasoning and philosophical writing, I often prefer passive constructions for nuance and detachment. Its edits can flatten style in pursuit of directness.
- Misinterpretation of Intent: There are moments when Grammarly's suggestions miss the forest for the trees—especially in complex or layered arguments. It may rewrite for clarity while undermining the depth or tone I originally intended.
- Occasional Overcorrections: In legal or academic contexts, its push toward simplicity can run counter to domain-specific norms, making edits that are technically "cleaner" but contextually inappropriate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grammarly has streamlined the way I approach business communication by acting as a real-time editorial assistant for emails, memos, and client correspondence. It solves the all-too-common problem of catching errors after hitting “Send,” offering an extra layer of polish to every message before it goes out.
The immediate benefit is confidence. Whether I’m drafting nuanced updates to fiduciary clients, crafting sensitive tax advisory notes, or corresponding across teams, Grammarly ensures my writing maintains a high standard of clarity, correctness, and tone. The platform helps identify and correct grammar, punctuation, and word choice issues as I type—without requiring me to toggle into a separate editor or wait for feedback.
It’s especially useful in fast-paced professional environments where accuracy and credibility are non-negotiable. Grammarly’s AI offers just-in-time suggestions that reduce the cognitive load of editing, allowing me to focus more on substance than syntax. Over time, I’ve also found that it improves my writing instincts by reinforcing good habits through consistent feedback.

Cant imagine my work life without Grammarly

What do you like best about the product?
Grammarly - where do I begin? Grammarly just knows exactly what's going on in my head without me thinking it or typing it. I love the fact that the errors, changes, and suggestions are pointed out almost instantly. I love that I can configure how I want to set up the language region and tone. I found it especially useful in business communication, specifically emails, and in understanding and recommending the right tone. With Grammarly I can just work without thinking about the nitty-gritties of language.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes all the colourful highlights distract me from what I am writing. I found the constant presence a bit intimidating as well. But with the new update, there is a sidebar button, and I think that's a much better way of using Grammarly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grammarly helps me write better and with much better quality of grammar and vocabulary. And all of this helps me focus on my work and not get lost in the nuances of language.
