Great backup solution for SMBs
What do you like best about the product?
The range of features for the price, it’s an excellent replacement for more well known brand that seems to take its customer’s for granted with regards pricing, especially in the SMB space.
The fact it can install as an app on a range of NAS hardware means we can save on Windows server licensing, and have a dedicated back up device.
Offer of free consultation to setup the product in production environment and adhere to best practices.

What do you dislike about the product?
So far as I know, removable media has to be set up as multiple repositories instead of the software dealing with a bundle of devices that may be rotated as a single entity. It requires a bit more configuration than anticipated but with job cloning options was fairly easy in the end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seems very comparable to more popular and well known backup vendors features.
Saving money on other vendors who see fit to price gouge on subscriptions.
Saving on Windows server licenses.

It solves data Loss by providing fast and reliable backup and easy recovery
Straight forward configuration and deployment. Great support.
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpfull thing is the configuration. Countless options for backup settings, schedules. Works great in synology enviroment. Also works great with any type of media, External disks, onboard disk, cloud, tape. Excellent support for the setup. Also great backup speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cant find any downside for the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Nakivo as the main part of my DRP.

Backup VMs
Simple, Smart, and Fast, The best Backup Solution we worked with
What do you like best about the product?
Nakivo Backup & Replication is extremely intuitive with a great workflow that makes backups simple to manage. It’s also very smart—if a Transporter isn’t available during a job, the system recovers automatically without manual input. I really like the distributed architecture, where multiple transporters act as a pool to handle backup, compression, encryption, and recovery tasks efficiently.
Scheduling is flexible and easy to set up, with support for multiple schedules on the same job. Licensing is straightforward, affordable, and “set and forget” with no hidden complexities. The Flash Boot for VMware feature is a true lifesaver—being able to spin up a temporary VM directly from the backup files within seconds has saved us in critical moments. Backup lifecycle and retention are also very intuitive and reliable.
Lastly, Nakivo’s support team has been excellent—knowledgeable, responsive, and proactive in helping us design strategies that fit our environment perfectly.

What do you dislike about the product?
I’d like to see a dynamic search function on the Jobs page to make it easier to quickly filter through multiple backup jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a reliable solution for backing up multiple VMware and Windows servers, as well as cloud backups. Nakivo integrates seamlessly with Backblaze, giving us secure offsite storage. Overall, it has simplified our backup operations, improved recovery times, and provided peace of mind that all critical data is safe.
Intuitive, Fast, and Reliable Backup
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Nakivo for about a month now.
With over 20 years of experience in backup solutions like TSM, Commvault, and Veeam, I decided to give Nakivo a try after using Veeam for a small number of on-premise workloads.
Its interface is highly intuitive, allowing anyone with experience in backup solutions to set it up quickly.
Since it supports deployment via a Virtual Appliance, the installation process is very fast and convenient.
I was able to configure the tool on my own in under 2 hours for and integration to a workload that included ESXi, Proxmox, and repositories on AWS S3.
We also tested the disaster recovery process. Using the configuration backup, we successfully restored the service in less than 15 minutes, easily accessing the external repositories.
Since the solution is so intuitive, I didn't need to use technical support, but the sales team was quick to respond to my needs and questions.
For environments of low to medium complexity, it will meet virtually 100% of your requirements.

What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks some of the features found in more expensive solutions.
The main feature I missed was an integrated backup of just the SQL Server transaction log. However, this can be worked around using other methods, like scripts or more frequent backup cycles.

Nakivo Backup and Replication for multiple VM Platforms
What do you like best about the product?
I installed the Synology DSM application for Nakivo. Using their agents we are backing up Nutanix VMs, vSphere VMs and a standalone Windows server. In addition our backups are being replicated to Wasabi for additional immutable offsite storage.
The configuration was pretty straightforward and so far the system just works. We previously used a Unitrends Recovery appliance but switched to Nakivo when our renewal pricing skyrocketed. I haven't a lot of support, but when I have reached out the responses have been fairly quick and effective.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I've had was using the Synology native app requires waiting for the latest version to hit that platform's release. I had downloaded the latest Nutanix Transporter only to find it didn't work with the prior version manager on Synology. There is no option to download the latest Synology app direct from Nakivo. A minor inconvenience to a solid product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nakivo provides native immutable backup support. In addition by leveraging the tie-in to Wasabi we have offsite replication, also immutable.
Straightforward reliable backup
What do you like best about the product?
Nakivo pretty much just works - the initial installation is very straightforward compared to the competition, with configuration after installation being via web interface and no need to dig for settings. I had everything up and running performing backup of all my hosts plus two NAS units within an hour or two. Optimising everything took another day or two once I clearly understood the exact way that Nakivo operates, and since then, everything has been performing well. Backups run every day on schedule and I don't worry about anything being missed. The restore process is also straightforward (including generating boot media for physical hosts), which I appreciate. I found it easy to integrate with everything needed. I did validate a few configuration options with customer support during the first few days of operation just to make sure I had understood the documentation correctly and I received prompt, helpful and courteous replies that provide a lot of confidence in Nakivo.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike is that it's not possible (as far as I can tell) to skip backup up the swap/hibernation file on Windows physical hosts, which results in some needlessly large backups. But storage is cheap, so this isn't a huge problem. Otherwise, everything works well!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nakivo solves the problem of having no visibility in to remote backups. I'm using Nakivo to back up physical hosts in three different countries and have a single unified view on this now (previously, I had to check each backup had run manually, and verify everything manually, etc). The architecture of Nakivo with director and transporter is extremely flexible, this is a huge benefit for me.
Very good Product
What do you like best about the product?
I started using Nakivo as an alternative to well-known brands I used before. Initially, it was a matter of cost, but now it's a product I truly can't do without.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a minor issue when you remove a license from a Microsoft 365 account that's included in a backup job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our company, it has been crucial for data backup and immutability.
Testing the Nakivo tool
What do you like best about the product?
The quick and easy installation, compared to other systems, the initial process with download and implementation, is practically very intuitive, another important aspect is the different platforms that allow Bk to be carried out
What do you dislike about the product?
Please note that you do not have the option to perform a Disaster Recovery enabled, that is, to be able to upload any backup hot from the web with the same Nakivo tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The process of setting the scheduled time for the bk
