My Go-To Tool for Diagrams and Flowcharts

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It doesn’t take long to figure out how to create diagrams, flowcharts, org charts, wireframes, etc. The menus, drag-and-drop, and snapping tools make building visuals very natural.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version is quite limited, so if I want more than basic diagrams then I have to upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When starting from nothing, the template library, drag-and-drop, and intuitive UI saves me from having to sketch things by hand or build from scratch. This helps me move faster from an idea to something actionable. Also because Lucid is cloud-based, people can access, comment, and edit from different places and time zones. So project continuity is better, and we don’t lose momentum just because someone isn’t in the same room.

A powerful tool for seamless team collaboration and visual planning

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid makes it incredibly easy to collaborate visually across teams, especially in a hybrid or remote work environment. The intuitive interface, real-time editing, and wide range of templates help streamline brainstorming, process mapping, and project planning. I particularly appreciate the integration with other tools like Google Workspace and Jira, which enhances workflow efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the suite is feature-rich, some advanced functionalities can be a bit overwhelming for new users. The learning curve for mastering all the tools could be improved with more in-app guidance or tutorials. Also, performance can lag slightly when working on very large diagrams with multiple collaborators.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid helps bridge communication gaps across distributed teams by providing a shared visual workspace. It solves the challenge of aligning on complex ideas, processes, and project plans by enabling real-time collaboration and clear visual representation. This has significantly improved our team’s ability to brainstorm, map workflows, and make decisions faster. It also reduces the need for long email threads or meetings, saving time and increasing productivity.

Very easy to use and straightforward

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and straightforward, the dragging option either across all sides.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somehow expensive as you have to pay once you exceed specific amount of boxes in the org chart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far the only problem on my end is being expensive.

I basically use Lucid frequently to visualize complex topic for my students.

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Templates make the design task a lot faster. And simpler UI. My Students like using it for their assignments. I always recommend it for my class. And several options to import the design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, zoom in and zoom out feels too sensitive. It causes a distraction sometimes. But after using it for a while, I got comfortable with that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to visualize, especially for the ER diagram and Programming flowchart that I always use for my teaching. Students understand better when I present such a visualization for a complex program or topic. This is how it really helps me in my work.

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid allowed me to combine my work into one setting, from my Google phone, Microsoft personal laptop and Apple computer at work. Combine emails and leads from Gmail, Google spreadsheets and Microsoft.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it difficult to navigate the initial setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Current and projected clients, how many people are being reached with current campaigns and what is missing to further efforts.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use of the application, it was easy to learn in a matter of minutes and I like that I didn't have to go searching for tutorial videos before I could jump in.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I have not found something I dislike about the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool gave me a convenient way to visualize flow charts without needing to draw them on paper. It's also very easy to edit, so whenever I want to make changes, I can simply go back and update my charts.

Perfect for cloud architecture diagrams - saved me hours of work

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The icon libraries are a game-changer. I was able to pull in Azure and AWS icons directly without hunting them down elsewhere, which made diagramming our multi-cloud architecture so much faster. The drag-and-drop functionality feels intuitive, and I love that I could represent everything from Terraform workflows to database connections and JSON structures all in one place. The canvas never felt limiting, and exporting the final diagrams for documentation was seamless. It genuinely cut my diagram creation time in half compared to other tools I've tried.
What do you dislike about the product?
Connecting different elements with arrows turned out to be more challenging than I anticipated. Often, the connectors wouldn’t snap exactly where I wanted, so I had to spend extra time adjusting them to achieve clean lines between components. The zoom feature also proved frustrating; when I zoomed out to view the entire architecture, everything shrank to the point where it was difficult to find and edit specific elements. I ended up repeatedly zooming in and out, which disrupted my workflow. Additionally, the learning curve for some of the more advanced features could be gentler, and the cost of team licenses can add up quickly, making me think twice about deploying it across the whole company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem it solved for me was getting quick approvals and feedback on architecture designs. Before Lucid, I'd create diagrams locally and then have to email screenshots or PDFs back and forth, which was messy and version control was a nightmare. With Lucid, I can just share a link with my team and stakeholders, and they can view the architecture diagram immediately. They can leave comments or make small tweaks directly on the diagram without me having to schedule meetings or go through multiple email threads. It's made the approval process so much faster - what used to take days of back-and-forth now happens in hours. Everyone's always looking at the same version, and I don't have to worry about someone working off an outdated diagram.

Great tool for building and sharing technical diagrams, but the free version limited for regular use

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Lucid mostly for flow charts and data diagrams, and it’s been great. There are tons of chart types, so it’s easy to map out anything from simple workflows to messy system designs. I like that you can hook up data sources and keep things updated automatically—it saves a lot of manual cleanup. Collaboration’s smooth too; multiple people can jump in and edit without issues. Overall, it just makes the whole process of documenting and sharing technical work a lot easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside is that the free version is pretty limited—you hit the feature wall fast if you’re doing anything beyond simple diagrams. Some of the more advanced tools and integrations are locked behind paid tiers, which can be frustrating if you just need them occasionally. It can also get a little slow with large, complex diagrams, and managing permissions for shared documents isn’t always intuitive. Overall, great tool, but it’d be nice if the core features were a bit more open and performance scaled better on big projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid helps me turn complex processes into clear, visual flow charts that are easy to share and update. It’s great for organizing ideas, spotting gaps or inefficiencies, and keeping everyone on the same page without long explanations or messy documents.

Functional, But Lacks Advanced Features

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the functionality of the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, as it looked easy to work with and fulfilled my needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the lack of commenting features disappointing when compared to competitors like MindManager. It is frustrating that some expected functionalities, such as adding comments, are missing. Additionally, the process of providing feedback or answering questions feels overwhelming, with too many questions being asked at once, leading to a sense of boredom and frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to document processes and value streams constructively, fulfilling my need for an easy-to-use tool.
