    Computer Software

A large quantity of useful templates but still falls into the same UX pitfalls as similar software

  • April 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are lots of templates and icons to choose from which can save time making assets or tracking them down on the internet.

Generally works as well as any other diagramming software you can buy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lucidchart sufferers from the issues that all diagramming software has. It is design and layout first and the relationships between items are an afterthought. Honestly it's not that much better than just using photoshop or google drawing. I really wish there was a program that cared about the underlaying relationships of the data that is being presented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is a good enough solution for making flow charts and other diagrams. It helps save some time but I wouldn't say it is pleasant to use.

The best visual aid for planning projects

  • April 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can create simple visuals that can be shared with others and easily disseminate information. Having the different elements to portray what I'm visualizing helps me track all objects that are in my projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had some issues with using the lines between elements. Sometimes it gets very easy to add a new element when I'm trying to move a line to a different side of an existing element.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving my issue of visualizing a mental map I'm creating on the spot for a project. I'm able to write out in the board an automation I have created in another program. It's convenient and in one spot so I don't have to worry about losing a paper or using a whiteboard in my office.

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid allowed me to achieve my charting goals for free, and if my needs had been greater, the premium features offer a wide and comprehensive range of options to meet them.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve but that is to be expected from a robust program such as is Lucid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted a way to easily visualize a technology roadmap, this will help me keep in mind the projects I can tackle to make the most impact.

My Go-To Tool for Flowcharts

  • April 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The team enhances the product frequently with new features that I've embedded into my daily workflows
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing particular to mention at this stage
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid helps us get ideas out of our heads and into something visual—fast. Whether it’s system architecture, org charts, user journeys, or quick brainstorming, it gives structure to messy thinking. It’s been especially useful for remote collaboration; instead of trying to explain something over Slack or email, we just build a quick diagram together and everyone’s aligned in minutes. It cuts down on miscommunication and speeds up decision-making across teams.

Great diagramming tool that is easy to use

  • April 03, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid allows you to capture all different kinds of diagrams and share them with your peers, so that you can collaborate easily across the globe. Everything is stored in one place, which is super useful. It offers a bunch of integrations (e.g. Slack), so you can be notified in real time. We use it several times a week when we discuss current architecture or future improvements in our systems. Overall, UX is very good. It has the usual keyboard shortcuts and ability to import any icons or images you might like.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to get used to how certain things work. Sometimes Lucid misbehaves a little bit and it interconnects a box you've just added (and you want to add a label to) with other boxes, which isn't intuitive. That can be easily corrected, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We discuss system architecture. We capture our system from multiple perspectives, which is easy to do with Lucid thanks to its wide variety of templates.
