Comprehensive functions, could be easier to use
What do you like best about the product?
Good for entry-level product/designers and sharing functions is good. Even free users have access to very comprehensive functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is good number of choices in terms of shapes/flowcharts. However, as a junior product analyst, I do not know the real difference between them. Maybe add some tutorial?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to build a workflow for a consumer-faced App, and Lucidchard helped me well as I go through everything with devs and designers.
Great and quick to get started
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to start and share with a team. You can get up and running within literally 10 minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not flexible enough for some. Some of the options for visualizations leave a lot to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ERD Diagrams, documentating technical data flows, application architecture documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out first, they have a great trial
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
I haven't noticed any significant improvements since I wrote my last review.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could take it out of diagraming mode so that when I'm working on things that aren't flow charts it doesn't constantly try to create arrows between elements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having workflows and diagrams for my team to reference has been invaluable. It's a great tool to make sure we are all aligned which is of course key to the success of any project.
Lucidchart nerd alert
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of Lucidchart from canvas sizes to fonts to shapes and templates to get you started visually describing almost any type of workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a bit of a learning curve on using it, but the more you do it the easier it becomes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for documenting processes, collaborating with my team, creating wireframes and even collecting random notes. It helps to be able to share access to one document and see who's in it at the same time.
Sr. Pipeline Developer
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive UX; has the shapes I need (UML).
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit of a learning curve for some UI elements/workflows. Doesn't handle logging in to 2 Lucidchart accounts on one computer (would like to copy/paste between accounts)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow and Design documentation. Charts are GREAT for communicating these
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are some UX quirks; when you can't figure out how to do something, review the great docs
Productivity springboard
What do you like best about the product?
Syncing across all platforms, useability, quick build for a chart
What do you dislike about the product?
The iPad app would be way better with the quick add progression from one box to the next.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Timelines, spiderweb projects.
Great collaboration tool to replace Visio
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to collaborate in real-time. Documents are updated instantly and multiple users can edit a document simultaneously. Having a common tool that supports multiple platforms is perfect for our mutli-operating system organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface when drawing can sometimes be a bit clunky and seems a bit less advanced than Visio when it comes to connecting lines. Some of this is related to the symbol library.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest challenge that it solves is moving documents from being stored on user devices to the cloud ensuring access to the most up to date version of the document possible.
Incredibly Effective Tool and Easy to Learn
What do you like best about the product?
I did not have experience with Lucid Chart before my current role. We didn't have any superusers but just exploring their tutorials helped me pick it up extremely fast. I made a big impression on my management team and have quickly earned myself a reputation as being a Lucid Chart expert on my team. It's extremely helpful for brainstorming, white boarding, process mapping, creating visuals for slideshows, handouts, embedding in webpages, etc. Double whammy - incredibly effective tool and easy to learn!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I get frustrated with formatting. There are a number of tips and tricks to navigate this, but it requires you to both a) know that the tricks exist and b) how to apply them. Sometimes I wind up wasting time on minor formatting hurdles as a result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use lucid to display process maps of both current and future state to stakeholders and process owners in the business analysis process. These maps are used for sharing knowledge about the process generally as well as by the development team to build a future state solution which matches the requirements and expectations of the process owner.
Lucid is fantastic for technical architectures and org charts
What do you like best about the product?
UI is intuitive and easy to use. Lucid very clearly displays thoughts/ideas to our prospects and customers and provides details needed to capture important information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing of note to mention that I dislike about Lucid, as I said before it is intuitive and the help section provides great info to solve any challenges on the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex technical architectures can be easily documented on Lucid and iterated across teams both internal and external.
Critical collaboration software
What do you like best about the product?
LC creates a shared space to express ideas in a distributed team environment that can either immediately translate to business documentation or requirements to align teams across the company
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot - it's a tool I use in both my personal and professional life. If anything, I think the recent changes to the default shape color schema are a little off-putting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on a distributed team across the world on highly complex issues that cross-cut many product lines. I need a way to communicate these ideas simply - I use Lucid chart for that
