Great for brainstorming and team collaboration.

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy that you get to collaborate on charts. Most times when designing processes, it has to be reviewed by multiple people to it's really helpful for people to be able to see your process chart, make comments on it and suggest changes, even make changes themselves within Lucidspark. It's also exciting that there are so many different features and integrations that I have yet to use but will also keep me engaged. I'm following Lucid spark really closely to see what other genius ideas they come up with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The template variety is not too extensive. I would appreciate if community users could make suggestions for what they would like to see in the templates according to the type of industry they are currently in. I know that templates should be broad to fit a wider variety of use but I also think that if you can filter by industry people can a lot more use for all Lucidspark has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm having difficulty finding specialized templates. Its been a great tool to explain processes to the team. The preexisting templates are great for coming up with ideas on how to further implement Lucidspark into our various processes as well as for our user education. Also, knowing that there is a support team available to help you is a great help.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan your charts beforehand so you don't have to make too many changes. I find that if I am too far in a process and have to make major changes it takes a long time to rearrange the shapes into the right order. Also don't be shy to use the preexisting templates for inspiration. They are a great resource when you're out of ideas.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to work collaboratively on complex diagrams and use version control to track changes
What do you dislike about the product?
Trying to be like Mural might not be the best move for Lucidchart. I see the two softwares having different use cases
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving how to document processes that few in our company understood from end-to-end
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that everyone on your team is interested in using the product. Some may prefer PowerPoint and will be unwilling to learn another new software

Great cloud based diagramming tool with good collaboration but missing some basic capabilities

  • November 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is relatively easy to use, and has great performance for a fully cloud based software. It also makes easy to collaborate. When the diagrams that need to be developed can be done with the shapes available, it makes it pretty much a piece of cake to draw it. It also have a great visual appeal, with a good range of options to visually modify the look and feel of the drawings created.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some basic capabilities are missing - for example:
- there is no option to create a custom shape (the "custom shapes" we can add to custom libraries are only combination of existing shapes, not completely new shapes we can build). Let's say I want to create a new shape where I can add a title within a rectangle, and I want to add characteristics as indented child rectangles. I can't have a shape for that - instead I have manually build one.
- there is no option to add points to an existing shape. The only option is to use the Flex Polygon, which makes you have to draw a whole new shape by dragging each point. Very painful to use.
Also - some other capabilities could make LucidChart even better, such as
- ability to create an inventory of shapes in the chart, extracting the attributes of shapes;
- ability to import files to create drawings based on instructions (e.g. create a UMLsequence diagram from a JSON file);
- add some kind of scripting/macro/automation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating diagrams - being able to visually display ideas
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't be afraid - make the jump and start using it as it is simple, performant and provides a great experience

Lucidspark solves our needs!

  • November 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customizability compared to other competitors! The ability to do what we want it to do! The price is also very fair!
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could be a tad neater. It feels clunky and "old" and not as fluid as competitors either. It can be a tad slow at times as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As our business grows and procedures change, Lucidspark is helpful in showing how processes change over time!
