Lucidchart has been a great replacement for Visio

  • November 23, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After battling Visio for years. I am so happy to now use Lucid Chart. It makes diagramming quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly cannot think of anything negative to say
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem that Lucid Chart helps me solve is articulating network traffic flows a way that every member of the intended audience can understand.

Solid Diagramming and Drawing App

  • November 14, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our firm has transitioned to the cloud, and continues to look for applications that can integrate with other cloud-based apps. We found LucidChart a few years ago, and have gradually shifted away from desktop apps to this product. It is a handy tool for production engineers that need a quick way to diagram a process or go beyond the crude drawing tools offered within documents apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no big gaps for us. It is less full-featured that some more advanced drawing tools (Adobe Illustrator), however, it is sufficient for a large number of our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration within the cloud and our ability to share / collaborate on drawings is a key value.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth a try, especially for those that are moving or thinking about moving to cloud-based product development.

Great for brainstorming

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can "see" my ideas with a colleague on line. It's like our virtual whiteboard
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it's a bit hard to connect things. Lines sometimes appear where I don't want them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid charts allows me to work virtually with a colleague
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn it. When I slow down to understand it, it works better for me.

My company uses Lucidchart to generate charts and create workflows/

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about Lucidchart is that I am able to show the process/steps for a job or task using a professional-looking flowchart.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that sometimes Lucidchart is slow, and I think that it seriously detracts from the great aspects of the program. Lag in any system translates to user frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What we realized was that simply listing steps is in no way as beneficial to most users as visualization!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to find a standard template that works for you or your company and stick to it!

Just what you need and nothing you don't

  • October 27, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's free! It does what I need. When I use Visio, I only use a couple features anyway, and those are the features in Lucidchart. It's easy to share and export and easy to pick up and start using right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there was anything. I use it when my needs aren't very complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a software product manager so I put together a lot of workflows for the software and also for internal processes.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use of the interface, Quick and beautiful charts. Integration with google drive and google tools. Excellent mobile apps
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitations in the free version (limited number of files and shapes), and princing for unlimited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Technical engineering diagrams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very good tool for online diagram design and sharing. Might be worth the price if you company make and extensive use of diagrams. For my type of use, it has all the features required.

Finally, your perfect Visio replacement for all charting/plotting

  • October 04, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We love the collaborative aspects of real time diagramming and sharing to our Intranet of workflows that we have developed. Even better is the amount of time we now spend embedding links to other workflows and data within the workflows designed in LC. The mobile apps have gotten so strong that I can now do most of my diagramming from my iPad while on the road and can review and comment on others' work too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing we do not like about this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a replacement for Visio and actually replaced Visio across our entire company with Lucidchart due to its amazing toolkit, Chrome and Google compatibility and collaborative functionality. Every workflow, org chart and business process designed in our company is now done through Lucidchart.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a trial version if you are on the fence and give it a few weeks against Visio.

Solid Entry for Fast Diagramming and Flowcharts

  • September 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This product is very simple to use; beginners are able to log in and create very clear and concise diagrams of even complex systems within minutes. It is simple to create a diagram, select from a very large variety of diagramming icon sets (enough to cater for nearly any type of diagram you need), have other users collaborate on the diagram if necessary, then export the result to a format that can be used externally.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are perhaps too many options for icon sets, some times it takes a long time to find the sets that you're looking for, perhaps some better meta data searching would vastly improve this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to write better system and data diagrams has helped our development team become more cohesive and enhanced our ability to fast track new members joining the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended, very fast return on investment, users get moving very quickly and are able to produce quality diagrams.

Easy Diagramming for the Whole Team

  • July 12, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There's a lot of things that are great about Lucidcharts: the ability to easily create diagrams, share diagrams, collaboration, and that's integrated with Google. This is another tool that you can very quickly get up to speed because of how easy the interface is to use. Even though this tool can both diagram and wireframe, I personally only use it for diagramming. I don't feel comfortable using it for wireframming, but it's something I might want to explore more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can have alignment issues when I don't line up shapes "just so".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has helped my team to very quickly collaborate on a diagram and iterate on the work. It's something that's helped improve the day-to-day of many team members to quickly create high quality diagrams without have the typical Adobe software.
