Phishing training for users
What do you like best about the product?
They continuously update the available training both to modernize and meet maintain continuity with changing styles of phish emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of training showing the difference between phishing emails, spam, and mass advertising. The training should include examples of all of these types of emails teaching better understanding to the normal user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Computer security understanding for employees. It has reduced the number of personnel who previously had clicked on anything they received, subjecting the system to potential hackers and viruses.
KnowBe4 - Overall Good Choice
What do you like best about the product?
KnowBe4 offers a comprehensive Security Awareness Training platform at various feature levels. We started out with the Platinum level and within just a few months realized that we needed to upgrade to the Diamond level in order to expand our security training awareness program. The Diamond level offers so many training options and modes. Their sales and support staff have been stellar as well!
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, KnowBe4 offers a great selection of training options and modes, there's little room to modify the training modules. Some of the sections within the training modules do not apply to our security program or configuration, such as training a user to hover over a link to verify the URL (we use link re-writing), which sends conflicting information to a user. Hovering over a link, in our case, won't tell them much about the link. While I know there is debate about URL re-writing, it sends contradictory information to a user. I would like the ability to remove sections of the training for these reasons. This is just one example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security Awareness Training is key to any security program. Empowering our users to be security conscious is our goal, and KnowBe4 hits the mark for us.
KnowBe4 security training
What do you like best about the product?
The training offers an at your pace training with real world strategies to protect you and your business. Does a great job at covering all aspects of protecting yourself and the company you work for.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is quite pricey if you have a small business but still much needed training for end users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has cut down on email clicks of spam and or infected emails however has upped the amount of false positives where people think they are but as soon as we look a them you can tell they are real, not infected emails. Also has made our end users quicker to delete items so sometimes real emails get caught in that batch but might not be too bad..
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ensure that the product is scalable for your needs big or small company first.
Covers all the bases
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create recurring security and phishing training campaigns, selecting the categories of emails to be included in phishing campaigns. saw immediate improvement with users.
What do you dislike about the product?
once the initial phishing training improvement occurs you must follow up on persistent failures. There is only one feature to create lists of failures in a single run, nothing in the Gold package to triage the persistent failures or back off on the successful users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
other then less people falling for phishing, even if it is just becuase they do not want to get in the tests, it provides a record of both phishing and security training as is often mandated by our funders in the NGO world.
Great platform for training and testing
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to assign training and to track to make sure the training is completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the videos don’t capture the audience well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using KnowBe4 helps train our employees to be on the lookout for phishing emails. By knowing what to look for makes it less likely they will fall victim.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is great. Just keep training and testing. It is not a silver bullet.
KnowBe4 training for end users
What do you like best about the product?
Their new story based security awareness training has greatly increased our end user adoption and viewing of the materials.
Their tracking of who has taken the training is very easy to use
Their tracking of who has taken the training is very easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
We only currently use their training modules and have no issues with them. I am not sure about their other products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Required to provide training as an MSP to meet customer requirements. Monthly training modules are completed in a timely manner
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know your audience before implementing so you know which product will be most adopted by them.
Best security training I have gone through so far
What do you like best about the product?
KnowBe4 provides security lessons through a Netflix-style series of short episodes with a compelling storyline and many real-life examples of potential hacks. Our company only released the first 8 episodes, but employees liked it so much they asked to watch more in the series. After Season 1 of the Inside Man ended with a cliffhanger, several people demanded access to Season 2. Disguising training videos as entertainment was a brilliant idea. Another big plus is that the individual videos are short, 7-8 minutes, which is easy to digest between meetings or on breaks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be ideal to have the option to change the watch speed to 1.5x, also supporting collaterals and quizzes would be great to verify knowledge retention. Also if you are "binge watching" the videos, it would be great to skip the recap of the previous video or preview of the next video.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits are clear, everyone actually watched the training videos instead of blasting through like most security training programs. There is a hook to keep people watching the videos and learning more. It was never so easy to convince my team to complete the required training on time. We did not have to send out as many reminder emails to complete training as we had to in the past.
I also believe that retention of the knowledge will be much higher. A story with characters that you can relate to is much easier to remember than a boring list of security protocols.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. It's pricey but so are security mistakes and the value of your employee's time. You'll spend less time getting employees to do their training and it will likely be far more effective than other solutions.
Nearly perfect for security awareness and phishing training
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to have set-it-and-forget-it phishing campaigns. We're able to use a small number of phishing campaigns to target broad swaths of our organization with both typical examples and custom phishing campaigns targeting individual departments. The Phish Alert Button also gives our associates an easy way to report suspicious emails for additional review.
The training content and phishing templates are well-maintained and kept up-to-date. I appreciate the ability to rather easily create my own templates based on those provided, as well as use easy placeholders to fill in dynamic data.
The API has been quite useful as well. We have a scheduled script set up to poll the API and specific group memberships, then use that data to generate emailed reports to each manager on a monthly basis to provide status updates on how well their employees are performing on their phishing tests.

What do you dislike about the product?
Configuring and linking campaign results to trigger increasing remedial training based on the number of phishing test failures can be tedious and difficult to set for ranges of failures, resulting in duplication of work. I'd also like more tooling options on the SOC side for configuring responses to emails submitted through the phish alert button, as well as automatic generation and distribution of individual user performance reports to managers as part of the review process.
I would really like to have the API not as restricted on page sizes in order to get a full list of users back out of the system. A single request for everything, while potentially more stressful once, avoids the programming issues related to generating multiple requests and stitching the data together on the client side to go make more requests.
The USB drive phishing campaign option is a nice extra, though in organizations where USB access is blocked, it is less effective
Also, while a lower priority, I'd like to be able to have an image repository within the platform itself for use within custom templates, rather than having to acquire or manage image hosting that could give away or reduce the difficulty of the template.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving compliance requirements for ongoing phishing training, applying phishing metrics as a piece of performance reviews, and providing ongoing notifications for new scams and training tips.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Knowbe4 covers the basics of phishing training, phishing reporting, and ongoing training extremely well, and it can integrate with other LMS providers with just a little bit of work. For those people who need to have robust reporting for each individual generated and distributed automatically, it will take some customization effort to make happen, and it can be a challenge to do so for larger organizations without either hitting API limits or working around page size limitations in the API.
Security awareness has improved significantly
What do you like best about the product?
The videos are short and to the point, good for users to learn quickly, without checking out like a long overdrawn slideshow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The modules and content seem a bit cumbersum, as far as updating what departments are assigned and updatinig their respective content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have seen improvements in not clicking unknown links, the emails KB4 sends to users, the click count has dropped quite a bit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We use it at new hire onboarding, they dont touch a computer before completing training from KnowBe4.
Created a common Security dialog and understanding across the workforce
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of management and the ongoing validation of our efforts
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything I dislike about this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number of incidents resulting from users replying to inappropriate emails has dropped significantly. We now have users proudly announcing when they discover a new attempt to trick them into following a link or responding to an malicious email.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend this product and specifically the organization. We receive excellent support and training for our administrators. I believe a key to our success was getting our senior management team on board and insuring they participate in the ongoing training.
