Streamlined HR Processes, Manual Data Sync Needed

    Reviewed on Sep 01, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate most about Factorial its self-service employee portal and built-in digital document management. During our seasonal hiring wave, new hires could sign contracts, upload required paperwork, and submit time-off requests independently, which cuts down repetitive administrative emails for our small HR team. The dashboard also gives us clear visibility over leave balances and employee status at a glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Factorial falls short on advanced custom reporting and deep ATS native integration for our HR operations. Building tailored turnover and onboarding progress reports required awkward workarounds. Its limited API options also block automatic data hand-off from our recruitment tool. Since we have no dedicated IT staff, I cannot build custom sync workflows. We manually copy candidate and employee records between systems. This manual data-handling raises human-error risks and adds heavy admin workload when multiple new-hire cohorts must finish onboarding before strict compliance deadlines. Pre-built connectors to our ATS were missing, so we could not auto-migrate candidate data. Importing historical employee records took lots of manual data cleaning and entry, and coordinating role permissions was time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Factorial centralizes our HR tasks like time-off tracking, document storage, and onboarding, eliminating fragmented workflows. It reduces repetitive emails through its employee portal, although it lacks seamless ATS integration, leading to manual data entry, especially challenging during busy hiring periods.

Streamlined HR with Powerful Self-Service Portal

    Reviewed on Aug 31, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I really value Factorial's unified employee self-service portal, which lets our Charlotte light-manufacturing staff submit PTO and check their timesheets without constantly involving HR. The role-based access is great as it keeps sensitive personnel files secure. The built-in audit trails are a lifesaver for FLSA overtime and EEOC record-keeping, making compliance much easier. The Zapier connection to QuickBooks lightens our payroll prep workload for our 51-200 employee team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Factorial lacks native US-payroll support for our Charlotte manufacturing workflows. Our Zapier sync to QuickBooks is partial; we still manually validate shop-floor FLSA overtime hours each pay cycle. Custom shift-rule configuration is limited for rotating production schedules. US-specific EEOC reporting templates are minimal, so I build manual exports to meet record-keeping rules for our 51-200-employee mid-market team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Factorial centralizes our HR tasks, automates PTO and timesheet logging, and reduces manual HR workload. The self-service portal empowers employees, while role-based access secures data. It streamlines overtime tracking and EEOC compliance, freeing up our HR team from constant requests.

Streamlined HR but Lacks Construction Specifics

    Reviewed on Aug 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I value Factorial's straightforward employee onboarding and the centralized digital document repository. It allows us to upload and organize critical paperwork like OSHA safety certifications for our site crews in one accessible spot. The self-service portal significantly reduces routine HR email traffic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Factorial falls short when handling construction-specific workforce reporting. It cannot easily filter records by individual job sites, which creates headaches for our compliance checks. Its integration with construction project tools is very limited, and without a dedicated IT team, custom connections are not feasible. We end up manually sorting and re-organizing exported spreadsheets, which eats into valuable project lead-up time. The basic setup was quick, but configuring profiles for rotating field crews was challenging since there were no pre-built templates for construction safety fields. We needed manual workarounds to tag workers to their respective active job sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Factorial to streamline HR workflows, like onboarding and document storage, which reduces email traffic. However, it lacks construction-specific reporting, requiring manual data handling for compliance checks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To improve Factorial's utility for construction companies, consider enhancing its reporting capabilities to include filters for individual job sites and better integration with construction project management tools. Providing pre-built templates for construction-specific fields would also be beneficial.

Streamlined HR Operations with Minor Manual Hurdles

    Reviewed on Jul 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part about using Factorial is its unified, all-in-one HR system paired with an extremely intuitive layout that fits our daily HR operations perfectly. At HRKontor Stuttgart GmbH, we support dozens of local German manufacturing SMEs, and we previously leaned on scattered standalone tools for attendance tracking, employee file management, and time-off administration. Constantly switching between different software created redundant work and messy data sorting. Factorial resolves this fragmentation by centralizing all core HR functions in one place. The user-friendly interface is a huge advantage for our team; even junior HR staff can easily handle attendance management and digital document filing without lengthy training sessions. Its native automation for leave requests and attendance records greatly reduces repetitive manual data entry every pay cycle. Additionally, the platform’s baseline DSGVO-compliant data controls are incredibly practical for our work. They help us standardize digital personnel files and efficiently prepare for regular internal compliance audits for our industrial clients. The real-time workforce reporting also delivers clear, actionable data insights, supporting manpower planning and streamlining daily HR workflows with far less manual effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite its reliable day-to-day HR functions, Factorial carries clear limitations for German local payroll and compliance scenarios, generating consistent extra workload for me as our DATEV and DSGVO compliance lead. The biggest pain point lies within its imperfect DATEV payroll integration. There is no fully automatic, error-free data sync, so I have to manually check, adjust and reformat all employee master data and attendance records ahead of every payroll transfer. It also lacks official pre-built templates tailored for German manufacturing industry HR standards. Whenever we run advanced DSGVO audit log screening for client audits, I need to build custom filter rules and adjust configurations from scratch. On top of that, the system’s role permission settings remain fairly generic. It fails to deliver fine-grained access control for different HR positions, which introduces minor risks during data management. There are also no effective native data validation mechanisms to spot payroll mismatches early, meaning our team must depend fully on manual cross-inspection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Factorial fundamentally addresses the fragmented HR tool challenge that troubled our team for years. Before rolling out this platform, we handled employee attendance, leave applications, personnel archives and basic workforce statistics via multiple separate tools and spreadsheets. This approach was highly inefficient and likely to trigger data errors. Factorial combines all these daily HR workflows, and its smart automation replaces a large volume of repetitive administrative tasks. Its simple operation logic lowers the team’s learning curve, and the built-in baseline DSGVO compliance settings also help us standardize personnel file management for local manufacturing clients. Overall, it significantly lifts the efficiency of our daily HR operations. Even with these benefits, it still cannot fully adapt to Germany’s localized payroll and compliance requirements. We continue to invest plenty of time on manual work for DATEV data connections and professional compliance audits, stopping us from achieving fully streamlined, automated HR management.

Efficient HR Management, Needs Better Integration

    Reviewed on Jul 15, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The digital personnel file archive with unalterable activity logs is my standout feature. Every view, edit or document upload leaves a permanent trace, which auditors accept immediately to satisfy GoBD and GDPR requirements. Granular role permissions let me wall off confidential salary and payroll data from entry-level HR team members, cutting internal data leakage risks entirely. Its automated leave, holiday and overtime calculators follow ArbZG rules out of the box; this alone slashes the hours we spend cross-checking payroll figures for our SME clients every billing cycle. Before Factorial, our team relied on physical folders and unsecure email file transfers, which left us exposed to data breach fines. Consolidating all staff records in one secure space streamlines EntgTranspG payroll reporting and drastically reduces the manual log preparation we used to handle ahead of official compliance audits.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest pain point is the complete absence of native two-way DATEV integration, our mandatory German payroll software. We have to manually export employee master data and reupload it every pay run, which opens the door to typos and wasted admin hours. The standard report templates don’t conform to official EntgTranspG formatting, so we rebuild every payroll compliance document in Excel from scratch. The German translation for the dashboard and settings menu is patchy, with awkward wording that confuses less technically experienced junior HR admins. There’s also no built-in connection to our Nextcloud document archive, meaning we manually download and archive every signed HR document to meet German personnel data retention laws. While signing up the account and bulk importing staff profiles was quick, setting region-compliant HR parameters was tedious—there are no preloaded German rule templates, so we manually tweaked absence limits, data retention timelines and access policies one by one. The inconsistent German interface only made this configuration process slower for our newer team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously juggled messy offline Excel trackers and a primitive on-prem HR database that offered zero audit trails or regulatory guardrails. Factorial brings all employee, attendance and candidate data into one single secure platform. It removes the compliance risks of loose paper files and unencrypted email document sharing, auto-calculates German working time regulations to eliminate spreadsheet errors, and generates traceable records that speed up every GDPR and GoBD audit we undergo. All these improvements let our small HR team serve more corporate clients without expanding headcount.

Streamlines HR Processes with Compliance Challenges

    Reviewed on Jun 17, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Its pre-built German compliance templates are the biggest advantage. It comes ready with GDPR consent logs, ArbG hour rules and works council report formats, cutting manual setup work. All personnel, time and payroll data sit in one encrypted space with full audit trails, making DSB audits far easier. The employee self-service portal reduces admin work: staff handle leave and personal info updates themselves, with every change logged. The built-in time tracker auto-calculates overtime, breaks and vacation per German labor rules, replacing error-prone Excel sheets. GDPR retention reminders help us avoid fines, and custom exports quickly generate reports for works council meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no native integration with mainstream German payroll tax software. Our HR coordinator spends 2–3 hours monthly moving CSV data manually, which risks typos and delayed tax filings. The admin panel has patchy German translations; junior HR staff often mess up works council settings, and I spend extra time correcting reports. Bulk archive exports run very slowly, forcing us to start DSB audit prep days early. Initial account setup is fast, but configuring full ArbG and DSB compliance requires fully manual tweaks with no pre-made German regulatory presets. Migrating hundreds of old staff records was slow without system syncs, and inconsistent German UI meant extra training for new HR hires to avoid compliance errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Factorial, employee data was split across spreadsheets and local storage, creating GDPR and labor law risks with incomplete audit trails. Manual payroll and paper onboarding also caused frequent errors. This platform unifies all HR workflows in one compliant system. It automates time tracking, payroll and digital onboarding, logs all data access and standardizes documents to meet ArbG and DSB rules, cutting admin work and closing compliance loopholes.

    Simplifying HR management

    Reviewed on Dec 26, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I value most about Factorial is how it centralizes and simplifies human resources management. From a single platform, it is possible to manage payroll, vacations, absences, documents, and approval workflows, which streamlines administrative tasks and reduces the possibility of errors. Additionally, its intuitive and accessible interface allows both the HR team and employees to use it without difficulties.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitations in advanced functionalities: There are certain complex human resources functions that require external integrations or are not sufficiently developed within the platform.

Dependence on the internet: Being an online platform, it is not possible to access the information without a connection.

Limited customization: Some reports and approval workflows cannot be fully adapted to very specific needs.

Initial learning curve: Although the platform is intuitive, some of its functions require time to adapt and become familiar with them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows saving time by automating repetitive tasks, which contributes to greater efficiency. Additionally, it helps reduce errors in calculations and records, improving data accuracy. The organization of information and internal workflows also benefit, as everything is managed in a more orderly manner. Finally, it facilitates communication between HR and employees by centralizing everything on an accessible platform.
