Smooth meetings and easy setup lead to seamless collaboration

  • June 04, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I have worked with SAP but it was for a small amount of time, as I was working at a bank where they were using in-house software.

I use Zoom for meetings, and if it's something such as tools including Windows, Linux, or Zoom for meetings, then I work with those.

I'm not sure about buying licensing from the AWS marketplace or somewhere else because I'm not responsible for it.

I was using mainly Teams, but for some meetings from other customers or parties, we are using Zoom as well.

Regarding Zoom features, I wonder which features you are referring to when asking about breakout rooms.

I am recording my meetings or webinars, and regarding cloud recording, I do that.

Both Teams and Zoom have the same features; I've used Teams and Zoom for meetings, and I sometimes recorded the meetings, which can be done on both.

What is most valuable?

I haven't used breakout rooms, and I'm not aware of it, even though they have functionality where you can separate 100 people into small parties.

I am recording, and it has been great and smooth so far, and I haven't faced any problems.

I thought Zoom doesn't have the feature to save chats after meetings, while Teams allows for document sharing, which I know because in my latest company we were sharing documents through Teams; I didn't use that in Zoom.

What needs improvement?

I would definitely appreciate seeing additional features in Zoom if I had cases that required them.

I don't have any suggestions on what could be done with Zoom to make it even better in the future, as I used it and didn't experience any problems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Zoom for a minimum of 5 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Setting up the application was very easy; it was just two clicks and you're done.

I don't have any idea on what could be done with Zoom to make it even better in the future, as I used it and didn't have any problems.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

No interruptions occurred, and nothing changed even when we had 30 people; it wasn't laggy or interrupting.

I didn't have any problem with Zoom, and overall with Zoom, there are no connection issues, stability, or performance problems.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I had meetings with a maximum of 30 people, but I did not have large-scale meetings with my customers of 100 persons or more.

How are customer service and support?

I have never needed to contact Zoom Technical Support, so I didn't ever need to reach out.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used the free version of Zoom, so I found it inexpensive when considering pricing based on the market.

Setting up the application was very easy; it was just two clicks and you're done.

How was the initial setup?

I actually used both the application and the web version of Zoom for initial setup, but I downloaded the application because it has more features.

Setting up the application was very easy; it was just two clicks and you're done.

It was not difficult because it is easier to set up, so I didn't face any issues at all.

What other advice do I have?

I integrate with Google Calendar when integrating Zoom with Teams, since I am working with Teams. I would rate Zoom an 8.5 on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the best, perfect solution, and 1 is the worst.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Google

Effective communication and file sharing have become seamless

  • June 02, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I belong to the technical side of Oracle technologies, where I use different technologies that are continuously upgrading. The generative AI is also emerging, and I am currently reading about generative AI in Oracle. Regarding BI, I can tell you about the BI publisher which I have used in many different projects for data visualization.

BI publisher is a very strong Oracle tool through which we visualize data from different platforms such as Microsoft and Oracle EBS, ERP of Oracle.

Most of the time, we use Zoom and Microsoft Teams for communication.

I have used Zoom many times for communication with colleagues and to send and receive different files. It is very secure for data transferring in our offices for clients, and it is used for interviews, different meetings, and conferences.

I use Zoom for file transferring, interviews, conferences, online sessions, and training purposes.

I have used breakout rooms once during a training session in my previous office where thousands of people were in the Zoom meeting.

What is most valuable?

The breakout feature is one of the reasons I prefer Zoom.

Most of the time we use the recording feature. Whenever we conduct online classes, sessions, or important meetings, we use the recording button to record everything. After recording, we edit the content and share it with office colleagues or new clients.

What needs improvement?

This section requires clarification.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for almost 3 years along with Microsoft Teams.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have tried other solutions but haven't found any as good as Zoom. Zoom is the priority because other applications for communication and meetings have tricky and not user-friendly interfaces. When it comes to meetings, sharing data, and conferences, we choose Zoom directly.

What other advice do I have?

I can confirm I'm being contacted from PeerSpot, which is the leading review website for enterprise tech solutions. Some time ago I shared feedback on Oracle Analytics Cloud solutions.

I use this solution for file transferring, interviews, conferences, online sessions, and training purposes.

The price is reasonable. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Zoom a 9.

Screen sharing and breakout rooms enhance team collaboration and daily communication

  • May 28, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My use case for Zoom involves a half an hour meeting that we have daily during which someone shares their screen and we go over the plan for today, what went good in the past day, and various details. Afterwards, I pair with a colleague of mine and we either share screens or I share my screen. We collaborate on tasks that we have using Zoom, but the share screen functionality is a must. If this was not present in Zoom, we definitely wouldn't have used it.

What is most valuable?

I value the chat feature in Zoom as much as the screen share, and whenever we have a meeting, we also have a chat, but it's nowhere near what Slack provides. Slack has way more options such as replying to a thread, but also sending that message as a last message in the chat box.

Breakout rooms in Zoom have helped facilitate more focused group discussions in my virtual meetings because you simply don't have to search for links to join other Zoom meetings. You just have one big call in the morning and afterwards, you split into the breakout rooms. Whenever I'm leaving my current breakout room, I'm returning to the main one, which is convenient because I don't have to search for any link to access it. Whenever I'm looking for someone, I can just browse to the breakout rooms and see whoever is in that room before joining. I don't have to join each and every room to find someone; I directly know where he or she is at.

This helps my focus as you have separate rooms for separate purposes, which is what my organization does. We keep specific rooms for specific purposes based on the name, such as one-on-one rooms prefixed with 'one-on-one' and pairing rooms prefixed with 'pair.' It's just a basic setup, but it's pretty handy.

Zoom has positively impacted my organization because it's essential for communication. Otherwise, we would not communicate the same way. We can see each other, we can hear each other as well. We use it daily for demos and for one-on-ones. It's a tool in our arsenal that is essential. We haven't used Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, so it's hard to compare it to anything else, but we are very happy with Zoom. We see no need to switch from Zoom yet. It fulfills all our requirements, which are pretty standard: just video and audio, and also the breakout rooms.

What needs improvement?

I would definitely want the chat in Zoom to be improved.

I have seen areas of improvement in Zoom regarding the noise suppression setting. Sometimes I talk a bit low pitched and the other person cannot hear me. I'm guessing the noise suppression detects my voice as background noise instead of my actual voice. It might be a setting that I just need to tweak somewhere in the settings window. I haven't had the time to check that out yet. It happens from time to time; it's not crucial, but I check that the other person hears me by asking them if they heard what I just said. It occurs at least once daily, so it's not bothering to me, but to someone who is a bit more sensitive, it may be bothersome.

I find it hard to tell if there has been any return on investment with Zoom because I'm not dealing with the financials of our organization. I guess it helped us because whenever there's an incident at night and people need to synchronize to find out what's going on, they enter Zoom and talk to each other.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have never experienced any drops with Zoom. I did once, but it proved to be my network and not related to Zoom, so it was very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding Zoom's capacity to host large-scale virtual events, it works really fine. I don't think we've ever been more than 40 in one call, but even when we were 40, we could still talk and understand each other. I saw no latency drops or anything related to that. Everything was fine.

I can share my experience with the scalability of Zoom by mentioning that the largest meeting I participated in was around 40 or 50 people. Everything went smoothly, so judging by that, Zoom fulfills the most common necessities.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used similar solutions before Zoom, but it was quite some time ago. I used Microsoft Teams about 2 or 3 years ago. I used Amazon's internal platform called Chime as well.

What other advice do I have?

I do not use Zoom's recording feature during most meetings, but on Fridays, we usually hold a demo called demo day. During the demo, whatever we've been working on for the past week is showcased to our colleagues. We use recording during the demo, but aside from that, we don't really use it. It's just once a week most of the cases.

The recording feature in Zoom hasn't helped in my post-meeting processes because I never replay any of the recordings. Those who are a bit higher up in the organization usually use them to take notes in retrospect, but personally, it didn't help me at all.

I'm not sure if I've integrated Zoom with Slack or Microsoft Teams. Currently, I have integrated Slack with Jira and Confluence, but not with Zoom. I wonder how that works; if I have a meeting on my calendar, will Slack notify me that I should be entering there, or going back to Zoom?

Zoom's security framework has helped my organization ensure communication privacy and data protection, but I'm just a regular user. If it helps, we've never had anyone from outside our organization accidentally join our rooms.

I switched to Zoom for daily use simply because I changed jobs and that's how the setup was already laid out for my new team. It wasn't a personal choice; it just happened given the context.

I have used documents or manuals for Zoom once when I searched for how to stop the camera from following me around. Apparently, there is this option called 'main stage,' and if you enable it, then whenever you move around, the camera on your MacBook zooms in on your face. This option is no longer easily accessible; I cannot find it anymore. The setting should be in the video settings, but it's not. It is somewhere, but I can hardly find it. I changed it a month ago and now I can no longer see where it is.

My overall rating for Zoom is 9 out of 10.

AI-powered tools enhance meeting efficiency with reliable performance

  • May 16, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Zoom just for online meetings. I participate in meetings four or five times a week. We already have Zoom for meetings. I use Zoom at least from time to time.

What is most valuable?

There is nothing particularly special to name, but it doesn't have any bugs or delays in meetings. In my opinion, these are the most helpful features of Zoom.

I use Zoom AI commands and AI tools sometimes. They can summarize the meeting for me. I found the AI feature very helpful.

What needs improvement?

I think there are aspects that need to be developed. While I haven't identified specific areas for improvement yet, I believe it could add many new AI features, which is why I wouldn't give it 10 out of 10.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with or using Zoom for around five or six years. I started using Zoom during the Corona pandemic.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

It wasn't difficult to set up Zoom initially.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't faced any issues in the last four or five months while using Zoom.

How are customer service and support?

I did not ever contact Zoom's technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I tried Microsoft Teams many times, but I feel more comfortable with Zoom.

I haven't extensively tried other platforms, but my preference for Zoom is somewhat emotional. I simply feel more comfortable with Zoom than using Google Classroom. It's not related to specific features existing or not existing.

How was the initial setup?

It wasn't difficult to set up Zoom initially.

What other advice do I have?

I was doing research on Moodle and EduWave.

Regarding software, I use Office 365, Windows, Linux, and Zoom for meetings.

I use a platform called Stati Fitch for learning tools.

My team uses Notion for communication with team members and students.

I use both the cloud-based version of Zoom and the application on my device, though I prefer the desktop version more.

My email contains 'Seif' (S E I F).

I work as a business development specialist in an education company.

I would rate Zoom nine out of 10 on a scale from one to ten.

Video collaboration thrives with accessible and feature-rich tool

  • May 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Zoom primarily for video conferencing. We have been using it as our main internal communication tool for our video conferencing needs.

What is most valuable?

Zoom is a popular solution and was one of the first to introduce video collaboration. It provides the usual benefits of collaboration. It is a tool that is specially tailored for video conferencing, offering most of the necessary features for this purpose. Additionally, Zoom is available for free for up to forty minutes.

What needs improvement?

Zoom could improve its security. I heard they had a breach the last time.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for two years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no stability issues or downtimes. Everything has been good.

How are customer service and support?

I never had any reason to contact Zoom's technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

It was not difficult at all to configure Zoom initially or to start a conference.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Zoom offers a free version for up to forty minutes.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Zoom at nine out of ten, as nothing's perfect. I would rate the overall solution nine out of ten.

Utilizing versatile features for efficient personal and work meetings

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Zoom for work because we do not have an account in my company, but sometimes we receive a link to join meetings. For personal use, I support technical issues that spread in breakout rooms and I have many meetings using virtual centers. Our team works every day in this virtual center, which represents the same concept as a local center that receives people, and we host all the meetings on the same Zoom account, distributed in the breakout rooms. This has been my main use of Zoom, at least in the last five years.

What is most valuable?

Zoom offers a number of interesting and valuable features. One of the most interesting is the ability to share only audio and provide ambient music without sharing a screen. The breakout room feature is much more developed than other solutions, allowing users to stay in the same meeting and move to different rooms and back to the main room. The sharing features are great for projecting people who should be in focus. Another valuable feature is the virtual entrance, which uses a username and password recognized by the Zoom system, showing the person's full name and ID. Additionally, the use of video and a good fixed background improves visibility compared to other applications. These features differentiate Zoom from others.

What needs improvement?

Zoom could improve by providing a timer or chronometer for activities, like a five-minute countdown. Integration with WhatsApp, allowing users to schedule something in WhatsApp and automatically generate a link to enter, would be valuable. Having an API or a virtual instance inside WhatsApp would be beneficial. Additionally, an easier way to update the application would be helpful, as people often get stuck without knowing why. It would be good to receive notifications informing them why it is not possible to open the meeting.

For how long have I used the solution?

At least ten years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I have not experienced any significant deployment issues. The setup was fairly easy and manageable, whether on a computer or a mobile device.

How are customer service and support?

Zoom provides more pages and information for consultation than direct support. I haven't hired support that allows me to speak exclusively with someone, so I'm not able to answer specifically about that part.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was fairly easy. We have dealt with some situations requiring installation, but it was not difficult. There may be some confusion when registering, but it is a necessary step and cannot be much easier than it already is.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Zoom is more expensive than others. It depends on the situation, as sometimes you look for Zoom for small companies and compare it to Teams for large companies. My experience with some companies looking to use Zoom shows the price is not so bad.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have experience using Google Meet and Hangouts for personal meetings, though not as much. I also use Teams and Zoom extensively.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Zoom ten out of ten. I personally use Zoom more for personal reasons and helping people than for my company's use. My company uses Microsoft solutions, especially Teams, for my job meetings. I use Meeting, Google Meet, Zoom, and other solutions if requested by a company or for personal matters. I am involved with a nonprofit organization where I use Zoom frequently, hence my extensive experience.

What is most valuable?

Some of the valuable features of Zoom include screen sharing, background blurring, hand raising, and in-chat messaging.

What needs improvement?

One area for improvement would be the length of the free calls.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Zoom for about a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Zoom could be improved. I would rate its stability as a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have used Zoom for just smaller meetings.

How are customer service and support?

I don't deal with their customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Zoom is straightforward.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I barely use Google Meets, Hangouts, WebEx, or any of those.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Zoom to others because everyone knows and uses it. Overall, I would rate Zoom a seven out of ten because it is convenient for its widespread use and has useful features.

Effective meetings and team coordination through seamless video calls and recording features

  • May 05, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I mainly use Zoom for client communication and team management. I do not use it on a daily basis, but rather for team meetings, which occur more than once every two weeks. I primarily use it for video calls and meetings.

What is most valuable?

The recording feature in Zoom is particularly helpful for cases where some team members miss a meeting. The ability to create different rooms is useful for team building and building management.

What needs improvement?

Zoom could improve its security measures. A friend faced an issue where it was easy to crack the code. Additionally, it would be beneficial if file sharing was improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for nearly four years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Deploying Zoom did not take a lot of time. I am not quite sure about the exact time, but it was within an hour.

How was the initial setup?

I would rate the initial setup of Zoom a nine out of ten. It was easy to integrate, although there was sometimes difficulty in sharing information or links. Otherwise, the setup was quite easy.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Zoom ten out of ten. Zoom is a very reliable solution.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

AI summary keeps meetings productive and responsive support aids seamless communication

  • April 28, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use Zoom for business and church meetings, and family gatherings. It is also used for small group meetings with family members.

What is most valuable?

The feature I really like is the summary provided by AI. It allows me to catch up with what has been discussed if I join a few minutes after others have already started, which is a very good feature.

What needs improvement?

So far, Zoom is excellent, but if there was a way to retain links for documents that are shared in the chat after a meeting, it would be very helpful. Additionally, the ability to do live changes to documents during meetings would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for the past three to four years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

When talking to clients who are in areas with poor networks, it becomes quite a problem. Also, when we have meetings with larger numbers than planned, like exceeding from one hundred to three hundred to four hundred attendees, there are challenges. It would be ideal if there was an automatic scaling option where you could pay for increased capacity as needed.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had any problems with Zoom support. If there's an issue, I reach out to their support, and they respond quickly without major problems.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Teams in the past. The main difference is that Teams allows for easy live documentation and editing, sharing of documents, and those changes can be made easily.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward and not difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Given that Zoom is now almost an ubiquitous product, the pricing should be reduced. Additionally, if auto-scaling was included, users could pay an extra for increased capacity when required.

What other advice do I have?

Everyone I know uses Zoom. When others are not connected, I encourage them to download and use it. I give Zoom a nine out of ten because some additional features would be helpful.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Ensures smooth operations and reliable group communication

  • April 23, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use Zoom for business meetings.

What is most valuable?

Zoom is very smooth whether in one-on-one meetings or group calls with more than one hundred people. The application consistently functions without glitches. Compared to Microsoft Teams, Zoom provides smoother operation. The audio on Teams sometimes fails, requiring reconnections. Zoom offers breakout rooms which are a beneficial feature. AI plugins for meeting minutes and summarization are valuable additions to Zoom's features.

What needs improvement?

Some features like the summarization feature and minutes of the meeting are not available by default and might require an extra cost. A timer feature could also be beneficial, allowing users to keep track of meeting durations.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for more than five years, starting from the pandemic.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Zoom consistently operates smoothly without any glitches, providing a reliable experience in both one-on-one and group meetings.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have used Zoom for meetings with a few hundred to a thousand people, and it has always been smooth.

How are customer service and support?

On the rare occasions when I had issues, they were resolved in a few hours, indicating a good overall experience.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What other advice do I have?

Zoom doesn't experience the issues that Microsoft Teams does with audio. I give Zoom a rating of ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
