Life Changing

What do you like best about the product?
Back in the summer of 2018, I was feeling a bit lost and decided to take a risk by learning OutSystems. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

What immediately stood out to me was how easy it was to get started. Instead of drowning in endless lines of code, OutSystems focuses on modelling and architecture, which allowed me to quickly build real applications and see results. The platform is innovative, intuitive, and there’s a strong demand for professionals with this skillset, which opened up many career opportunities for me.

Beyond the technology, the OutSystems community has been wonderful—full of helpful people, shared knowledge, and even some very cool swag along the way.

OutSystems didn’t just give me a tool; it gave me direction and a career I’m proud of. It truly changed my life for the better.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is probably the worst about OutSystems but I believe this is something they've been working on and some changes ate coming
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rapid application development is a big demand from market which benefits those willing to learn and solve the problems.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and fast solution delivery and multi platforma integration in one place. The service Studio is very clean and present to use, and it is very well organized. The accelerators are awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
Coming from an old-school development background, I initially found it a bit strange to work with a visual interface that handles most of the tasks for you. At first, I also had concerns about the security and reliability of the solutions being developed, especially since the process was so fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving complex workflows and including team test users to validate the solution before going live has been very effective. Lifetime manages all versions, and rolling back to a previous version is simple, requiring just one click.

It has been a crucial tool for our companie's work

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most is the rapid development cycle, which allows for quick implementation of new features and fixes. I also really enjoy how straightforward it is to integrate with external systems. But I find it mostly easy to use, and very often go to it to make apps. I've also found easy to get support, either from community or official.
What do you dislike about the product?
As someone transitioning from PHP and Laravel, I find the experience somewhat overwhelming. It often seems like I have less control over fundamental aspects, and I feel somewhat pushed in a particular direction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our core backend application was developed using Outsystems and is essential to our company's daily operations and ongoing challenges.
Controlling everything, like member enrollment and professional progress and certification, and even service integrations with external software, like billing software ou teaching portals.

A no-brainer for a full-stack Enterprise solution, with an outstanding potential for the future

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
OutSystems truly simplifies the software development process. Of course, to deliver a high-quality product, you still need a solid understanding of the platform. That said, nothing compares to the speed at which you can develop APIs, design attractive screens using advanced frameworks, and set up a comprehensive data model in just a few hours. Publishing an app without the usual compilation error headaches is a huge plus, and, most importantly, the ability to ship to production quickly and frequently really sets OutSystems apart. While other technologies certainly have their strengths, OutSystems stands out for being faster, more accessible, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Leaders who prioritize rapid value delivery consistently find OutSystems at the top of their list when choosing a platform for their next major project.
What do you dislike about the product?
As someone who previously used O11 and now develops on ODC, I appreciate the advantages of moving to a cloud-native platform, but there are also some drawbacks compared to what we had before. For instance, the SSO implementation is convenient in that setting up an identity provider takes only a few minutes. However, we can't reuse the authorization token when integrating with Entra, which means we have to invest more development time and effort. It would be much simpler if we could just use the JWT token from Entra directly. Another area that could be improved is logging. Unlike O11, ODC doesn't provide API logs out of the box, so we have to build the entire logging solution ourselves. It would be much better if enabling this was as simple as toggling a setting in the ODC Portal. Lastly, the lack of access to the database in higher environments, and the inability to debug it, presents a significant challenge. We're now forced to create our own APIs and screens to work around this, which feels unfair since these consume AOs that wouldn't otherwise be used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Developers do not need extensive experience with high-code to use this. It is straightforward to learn, and the rapid deployment makes it possible to deliver sprints successfully.

Struggles of a junior

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Outsystems was the first platform I used when I started working in this field, and what immediately stood out to me was how clean and easy to understand the menus and workspace are. As a junior, I found it simple to become productive right away because the platform is so user-friendly. Another thing I noticed early on was how straightforward it is to work with databases in Outsystems. The visual nature of the code makes it easy to build logic and debug issues. I also really appreciated the one-click publish feature and the way user management is handled for external sites, which can often be confusing in more traditional applications where everything is mixed together in the code.

I was also involved in implementing Outsystems on the client side, and found that process to be just as clean and easy. Customer support has been very responsive whenever we've encountered bugs or needed to report issues—they typically open a ticket and respond quickly. In the past, I used Outsystems quite frequently, but nowadays I am no longer a developer, so I don't use it as much. However, whenever I do need to use it, I find it easy to integrate, clean, and fast. I also hear from many people that the frequency of use remains very high.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we encounter bugs or limitations in the app that need to be resolved in order for us to continue our work. Outsystems doesn't provide a quick fix, so we have to wait for them to open an internal ticket and address the issue. After that, they either give us an update or a fast fix, but it's still not quite the same as having an immediate solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The challenges of working with the cloud and adapting to it have been significant, but bringing everything together now has been very beneficial for me.
