SPSS has been an essential tool throughout my academic career.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that everything is point and click. It's easy to see what you're doing and there is the syntax option.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how expensive it is. Otherwise, it works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS is a great tool for running preliminary and other analyses on large data sets. I
Robust analysis software
What do you like best about the product?
Syntax is easy to use (copy/paste) and proof; software alerts you to issues/problems with code (and recommends corrections); wide variety (all essential) of analytic techniques; lots of support information available online. Very easy to reuse/modify code for new projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it's complex, it's not easily learned/mastered. Output doesn't always import easily into other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Use for all phases of marketing research studies. Preparing sample. Proofing/cleaning/recoding survey data. Merging sample and survey files. Conducting analysis/reporting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest the time to train thoroughly, so you can use SPSS most effectively. It has many advanced features/functions, but need to know they exist and when/how to use them.
Great Statistical Software
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS simplifies statistical analyses. By using an efficient, user-friendly interface, the software does all the heaving lifting for you.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has fewer features for personalizing analyses compared to other statistical software out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A major perk with SPSS is the ability to load data in and save it for future analyses, due to its large memory. This has allowed for lab-wide collaboration on data entry and analysis, compared to other options which are more time consuming.

Do the 14 day free trial and make sure it has all the functionalities you're looking for!

What do you like best about the product?
If you can code on Matlab or Python, you definitely don't need SPSS. If you're not willing to learn to code, you're best stats are on SPSS. Regressions, ANOVAs, correlations, population studies, and even Neural Networks! I prefer SPSS to other competitors such as Statistica by StatSoft.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS has a nice and intuitive interface, but it has the disadvantages of the interface-based software: few possibilities of personalisation of the analyses and the plots. It is expensive, this is a disadvantage. Few open-source alternatives are available to do basic analyses such as regressions, correlations and ANOVAs. One of them is JASP, which is very easy to use but, however, allows very limited analyses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every kind of statistics, including advanced ones. Regressions, ANOVAs, Neural Networks. I really appreciate the easy way in which I can do survival plots and population studies. Advanced regressions' residual analyses are available and relatively intuitive.

User friendly and esp. starter friendly UI design compared to codes based tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The spss codes or syntax, are too rigid and not developer friendly especially when one wants to use spss Marcos to make extension. Though they are adding capability of python extension but not everyone knows how to use python to develop their own statistic tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Research. Data manipulation is more convenient and intuitive than R.
Best Software For Big Data Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best tools that I have ever used to do statistical analysis. SPSS is packed with various tools and functions that might be needed to do analysis of Big Data. In my opinion integration with R Studio has increased efficiency of SPSS tenfold. Now you have the best parts of both worlds at your disposal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest con that comes to my mind is that SPSS is pretty hard tho master since buttons don't seem to be very intuitive but after some time you get used to it. Also customization is somewhat limited the basic users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS allows users to work with Big Data flawlessly. Many modules and tools provides users opportunity to make statistical assumptions. SPSS is one of my data mining tools.

If you need a tool that is intuitive and easy to learn SPSS is your go-to.

The price was a little expensive and had to justify

What do you like best about the product?
It can crunch a lot of numbers and data. For my purposes, we had a small survey group so we didn't neccessarily need it but the software provided great feedback on our survey results. Very flexible to be able to interpret any data your throw at it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a more complicated technology to use. It's not very user friendly and I think there's modern softwares that can help visualize the data.

Being able to crunch and analyze large amounts of data.
