Beginners Jitters, Be gone!
What do you like best about the product?
I am an intern and a student within Health Sciences and I have begun to use more statistical programming platforms. I already had some experience with SQL and so I was hopeful that SPSS would be easier for me to pick up on - it was just that! I like that it easy to import data and easy to navigate the dropdown menus. Moreover, the newest version of SPSS is very pleasing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The drawback is the expense and the lack of student ability to afford.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using this program to perform linear regression and basic descriptive statistics.

Make it free for current students.

What do you like best about the product?
spss allows users to build the best model. For a data analyst, SPSS is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is outdated and not improving. The system speed is slow

Data Analytics. The stepwise model function makes SPSS better than Excel in terms of my work.

What do you like best about the product?
The software allows users to point-and-click and enter codes. As long as you understand statistical analysis, it's a great tool to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The output files are not report-friendly and the older versions of outputs are not compatible with the current version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SPSS to import flat data files and compile statistics and do basic statistical analyses. The software has both point-and-click and code features. It's an easy way for someone with limited programming experience to work with.

Good for to understand and analysis the marketing data through statistical function and get to visualization and report.

R Studio is best for Statistical point of view software because it has better visualization and it is open source

Software designed for social science research
What do you like best about the product?
This software is an indispensable requirement to successfully accomplish my work. Citizen security is an important aspect for the development of a society; and I use IBM SPSS as a tool that allows me to analyze variables in matters of citizen security, analyzing variables and causes of social conflict, theft, robbery, murders, street security devices, and many other aspects necessary to analyze this complex social reality. With this software I not only analyze the variables mentioned above, but I can make graphs, probabilities analysis, design questions and results necessary to make public policies to solve these social problems. This software is very complete because I can cross variables and results that after being analyzed allows us to understand a little better our social reality and the role we play as workers in the service of people's security.
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM SPSS can not be managed by anyone, even, I have been able to observe very good sociologists and statisticians who do not know how to manage this software, and this happens because this software is a little difficult to master. It is quite complete and specialized software, but there are some tools and functions that could be softened so that more people can use it without having to be instructed beforehand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software has made all my qualities as a worker better now. IBM SPSS is a software that has allowed me to diversify and deepen each of my proposals in the area of citizen security. Each proposal I make is carefully analyzed and evaluated thanks to the excellent tools IBM SPSS offers me. I currently use this software for each one of my investigations in the field of citizen security, because it is the one that has given me the best result.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The work in social sciences is one of the most complex because of the multiplicity of variables that play in an analysis that results in different types of actions that improve the living conditions of people living in a society. If your job duty is to meet different goals at the level of analysis of variables and database analysis results, then this software will adjust to your work dynamics in the best way.

I like the visuals and how easy it is to use in comparison to some other statistics programs.

It doesn't have as much capability as other statistical programs.

The ease and the final chart report is very convenient.

The tutorial and the Blue color interface is a bit dull.

I used it for academic purpose in a capstone project. They were very helpful and great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Improve on the computational capability and run time. The User interface is good but front end design can be better. Also. if cloud based system and be implemented for this, that would be great as well.
Not much you can't do!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how user friendly SPSS is - you don't have to know how to code, though learning their syntax is very helpful and you can do pretty much any analysis with the syntax!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how sometimes it gets overwhelmed and quits on me, especially if I hadn't saved my work in a few minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am spending less times creating cross tabs for survey data. I could do a lot in Excel but it would take much longer and I could not go into as much depth.

Save your work! Otherwise, very user friendly.
Excellent statistics software
What do you like best about the product?
The easy of use especially for the cluster analysis things are pretty straightforward and the results are easy to interpret

Some of the functions are hard to find and the databases are not always compatible with other software we use

Mainly data analysis: solved multiple parameyer data issues with the built in 2 step cluster analysis
