Fantastic statistical software
What do you like best about the product?
Spss is incredibly user friendly with a very easy to use interface that we have usd on multiple projects on epidemiology research. Online help is also easily available by simply googling questions
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain analyses that are challenging to do on spss such as multiple imputations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using spss to run statistical analyses on RCTs and cross-sectional studies to answer epidemiological and quality improvement research questions
Feature packed, perfect for marketing research
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS provides an extensive amount of analytics at your fingertips, and is so incredibly useful for marketing research.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a learning curve, and isn't easy to use like many web-based analytic tools are, but the insight SPSS provides is incredible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing research problems, and objectives. Data is analyzed quickly, and information seemingly appears out of nowhere, even though it was right in front of you the entire time...
Excellent program
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is very user friendly. You have the option the use point and click menues or syntax. The menu content is intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the default settings are tedious, like having logs in the output. It isn’t clear how to change default settings. Printing output is not practical because or page settings and excessive tables.

We can quickly make the most of our data and understand our results.

It's very simple. You put your data in, and you tell the program what kind of analysis to run.

The formulas etc aren't modifiable. If I want to run a slightly different process I can't get under the hood.

It's good as an intro tool, but you can't go that deep
Not as adaptable as some of the new statistic software, but a stable in the field
What do you like best about the product?
Generally, everyone used or has used SPSS, so it is easy to communicate your analyses across lab groups, universities, etc. As such, it is relatively simple to find help/support online from other users on how to run different sorts of analyses online.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many statistical analysis programs on the market these days. SPSS is still a paid program, not open-source like R, for example. It also is rather buggy--the GUI works just fine, but the Syntax (code for programming analyses) not so uncommonly will not work for no reason at all. Only retyping the problem section will fix this issue. If you prefer using code for analyses, SPSS is less intuitive and more difficult than other programs. The graphs and plots generated directly from SPSS are actually quite awful and need to be redone in another program before they can be used in any reasonable publication or presentation.

As a long-standing stable in the field, we teach this in classes to all our undergraduates. It's a great starter program for analyses because of the easy to use GUI.

outdated design interface. App didn't change much even after many years in the market. Only more functionality added.

It is not intuitive. There are some basic workflows that could be automated.

it doesn't really meet our needs. we like to evaluate the responses to surveys, but SPSS hasn't given us the insights we were hoping to find.
Great tool for statistical analysis
What do you like best about the product?
This software offers a lot of tools to analyze datasets. Bringing in data is very easy, it’s simple to join datasets together, there are a lot of models and statistical packages available, as well as other options to transform the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is sometimes difficult to navigate, as well as some of the available options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS is used to join large datasets together and perform various tests on them. It makes it easier than using VBA or other tools that don’t have easy access to the data.
If you like point and click stats, this is a great program
What do you like best about the product?
I like spss for analytics, and it is much simpler than a program like SAS. I don't use SPSS daily, as I am a coder and love SAS, however, SPSS is good for a beginner.

It is minimal on graphing, which is imperative in my job. I also think it could be much more user friendly. I don't like having to try to search for the analytical procedure I want to use.

Love the analytics, easy statistical procedures, and good for traditiinal analyses.

This is a straight forward program if you already know your stats. Its great for a beginner and minimally inexpensive.
