What do you like best about the product?
SPSS was more user friendly than other analytic software I have used in the past and I found it to be a pretty quick learning process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is expensive and is not widely used in state health departments so it's not always useful across organizations or different fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Health research problems - I used it to run analysis on national survey data looking at risk factors for substance use and mental health disorders in the United States of America.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take into consideration what other organizations in your field are using so you can more easily collaborate and share information.

It is relatively quick and allows us to turn over results quickly

For more in depth analysis it is not as easy to use so it tends to be done through another program or outsourced.

Statistical tool for small projects
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is easy to use for those unfamiliar with statistical analysis. Rather than coding, it only requires point and click abilities. The graphic outputs are similarly easy to export and display.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited ability to rearrange and manage databases, so your data has to be fairly clean to begin with. Also, setting specific options in your analysis is not as simple as in more advanced statistical software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing databases to answer broad public health questions and show evidence of program effectiveness

If data analysis is a small part of your work, this software will be adequate

Most well known program for statistics so easy to find help on it

Definitely a hard program to learn at first. A more user friendly manual or guide would be nice

Calculating data from intakes and demographics for monthly/yearly reports

Have at least one person fully trained on the product to not cause a downhill wheel on destruction

i love that you can import data from either qualtrics or excel into the system, rather than having to type in all your data
What do you dislike about the product?
not user friendly AT ALL; used MUST have prior experience to know how to use SPSS; very expensive, even though grad students NEED access to it

no business problems; there is A HUGE benefit of using this system, as it automatically does statistical tests for your dissertation, rather than you having to do it all by hand.
good features that saves a lot of time for the users, but gonna know how do use the features
What do you like best about the product?
Simple and clear results shown. lots of demos on youtube or other sources so easy to navigate. When i used the product for analyzing my data from science research, it allowed me to use various features to compare the relationships and find attributing factors. Also i took a stats course that utilized the program, so i knew the basic features already before using it in my lab. Other people in the lab also used this program to analyze their data and get results to publish in science journals. The detailed result that comes out can be very helpful in improving your experiment setups, too.
What do you dislike about the product?
not free and the fact that there are too many features so when you first use it it might be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
finding for any statistical significance or relationships in different factors I am comparing. Results are all math, so not much room for error.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
good program to use for statistics. used in many stats courses and lots of demos on youtube so if needed, can get lots of help or support. Also, most university libraries have the program installed as it is widely used, so if needed, you could get access to the program without paying.

SPSS has an easy access and self-explanatory menu.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS is not perfect for Structural equation modeling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am testing research models. I was able to find significant/non-significant models.
A Bit of A Learning Curve, but Afterwards Great!

Well organized program, outputs are simple to understand for individuals without a background in coding or advanced statistics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat steep learning curve, the help is not very useful.

Data analysis, it is great for creating large data sets if you don't have a background in coding.

Somewhat expensive, but good basic software for beginners.
