What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can see the data and the point and click option to assist in writing syntax is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited analyses and take a long time to process data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Research related to behavioral health outcomes for federally and state funded grants.
SPSS
What do you like best about the product?
I like it's accessibility, and how easy it is to understand the layout, especially as someone who had to learn how to use SPSS on the fly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish, for each analysis tool, there was a description of what it's used for on hand. Almost like there was a code book of some sort for it, to help people just getting started. Tutorials would also be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are analyzing behavioral data from weight loss studies. One of the best parts of SPSS are the plethora of visual representations of data you can use. The graphs are crucial for communicating significance and descriptive statistics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Save copies of everything before merging or changing data. It's extremely difficult to "Command Z", or undo, changes using SPSS.
SPSS has worked well for me for the past decade.
What do you like best about the product?
Able to complete all necessary statistics for my research using SPSS. Ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequent upgrades and needing to purchase new licenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have been able to effectively analyse data, relatively easily. Also pretty easy to learn to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an excellent program for not too complicated statistical analyses.
SPSS for data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to save output and change the syntax.
What do you dislike about the product?
old charts stay in the output file, unless you change the syntax and run it again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great tool to analyze data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great program for statistical analysis.
SPSS Review
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface, good resources online for help,
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not always trust the outcome of the statistics; I believe using R itself can be more powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this product to complete research papers, so I am able to to conduct fairly complex statistics in relation to biological conservation issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would ensure that you read a manual on how to properly use the product before using it for reliable statistics. I think the most important piece of advice I have is to know how to properly code variables.
SPSS
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is a powerful package for statistical analyses. I like the flexibility of being able to use the graphical interface or syntax editor. It also integrates well with other programs, such as Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of use makes it too expensive for everyone in my lab to use. I also wish there was an easier/better way to make nice graphs. Many times I export my data to Excel to have more control over graph features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS allows me to analyze my data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SPSS is one of the gold standards for statistical analyses. There are many books and online tutorials to help.
Love SPSS
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
some things work differently on mac vs pc
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
educational assessment data analysis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
IBM website has many good tutorials
SPSS Review
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is an incredibly user friendly tool to use for research. With minimal training I was able to do fairly complicated statistical analyses, as well as make graphs and charts to use in my scientific paper.
What do you dislike about the product?
For higher level research with more complicated statistics, SPSS might not be the absolute best program to use. However, it is a fantastic starting point, and is very user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The IBM SPSS Statistics program benefits our business because it helps us to do statistical analysis in a quick and reliable fashion, allowing us to move forward with our research studies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before you use the IBM SPSS Statistics, make sure you watch video tutorials online and read up on all of its features. You get the most out of this program the more you know how to use it.
I am a science researcher and use SPSS for data analyses
What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly and a quick processor.
What do you dislike about the product?
A more helpful user help guide would be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my many level complicated ANOVAs the program can do post-hoc tests in seconds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better help guide for the user
Effective tool for data analysis.
What do you like best about the product?
The color coding of syntax to indicate completion/correctness of the syntax. Examples in the syntax reference PDF. The ability to edit output.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having a dialogue box where I can instantaneously run syntax just by hitting return (and then paste the finalized syntax into a saved file). STATA has this feature and I really like it. It would also be good to have more examples in the syntax reference PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis for program evaluation.
