IBM SPSS - good program, but definitely has some drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
It is user-friendly, for the most part. Point and click functionality. Retains old options while moving ahead with new ones (old, canned reporting, but recommend building your own, for example). Even with version updates, it retains a static feel that makes it easy to adjust.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are quirks - case sensitivity being one. And while the somewhat static appearance is starting to feel old and outdated. With all of the power at IBM's disposal, one would think there could be some major advances added to SPSS (cleaner, more modern reporting, for one).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SPSS to do most of our data analysis, client work. I guess the biggest benefit is that it can handle the large amounts of data that I am working with, and I know the quirks well enough that when something does go wrong, I typically know where to look for the answer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There aren't many options out there at this level, but make sure you know what you are getting before you commit to one. It isn't always easy to switch back and forth.

IBM SPSS Stats Review
What do you like best about the product?
Allows you to built a customizable pivot table-- can cut data really anyway you want to get to deeper insights. Pretty easy to customize if you want to look at results in terms of percentages, means, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little archaic. Very reliable but takes a while to pick up on certain things you need to turn on to run your data. I feel like I probably only know 20-30% of the software's total functionality. It'd be great if it could get refreshed so that only the most relevant features were still in tact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking to cut data in a way that I previously had not broken out in my survey research. Great benefits that allows me to streamline my survey research upfront knowing I will have full access to my data on the back end and can dig through it once I have a better idea of strengths and weaknesses.
SPSS
What do you like best about the product?
Once you know how do used it, it's relatively easy but the learning curve I think is higher than for other software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate that you have to search in all of the different tabs to find the analysis that you're looking for. In SAS you can just type in what you want but you you have to write the code. Searching for the actual analysis is half of the time I spend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Research.
Easy to use and very useful software for data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use
Data storage
Ability to analyze numbers and generate graphs

Ability to analyze numbers and generate graphs
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the large data entry becomes a hassle, errors in data entry can sometimes be missed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking at how to improve care for patients with depression in our clinical practice. The data from patient records entered in the SPSS has helped us identify trends in depression outcomes, challenges that need to be overcome and focus on problems.
User-friendly and fairly easy to learn
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I do bot need to know code to run analyses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited functions. Needing to add-ones to run certain types of analyses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS is a good tool for doing the basic types of anaylsis needed to conduct research that improves healthcare outcomes.
I love to use this software
What do you like best about the product?
Every week I use IBMSPSS. I like to do data interpretation and ita easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
as far their is nothing about dislike SPSS
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
missing data interpretation
Great for data management!
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is user friendly. Its relatively easy to navigate the menus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing out code files is tedious for me in this software relative to other data management softwares
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis, management, pictoral representation of results etc.
Great for market research data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Much better user interface than SAS or R for someone who doesn't use it constantly, like me. It's easy to pick up after not using for a long time, unlike SAS where I have to spend quite a bit of time re-learning or looking up the right codes to use. I like using this for basic analytics like significance testing or correlation, but others in my company do very advanced analytics with it and like it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to create good data tables in SPSS instead of having to use a separate software for it. SPSS just doesn't compare to some of the simple tables programs when it comes to easy to use and print out data tables to use in filling in reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Market research firm using SPSS for analytics-- everything from basic correlation analysis to advanced analytics (that our stats-specific people do)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As far as basic data analytics, I don't think there's a more user-friendly interface to use.
Easy to learn data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Although I am not certain I could have leaned SPSS as easily if I had not been taught by a professor, once I did learn the platform, it really is the best and easiest method for analyzing data. And despite some new versions since I first learned how to use the program, they have maintained much of the same look.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a functions that I was never taught while in my research class, so those functions I don't really know that I am using properly. What's nice about today's technology presence, is that I have been able to google how to do certain things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do research surrounding counselors-in-training and professional counselors. Supervision training, counselor competence, etc.
SPSS has greatly benefited the ability to easily input and analyze data.
