Great experience!

  • January 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
IBM SPSS is one of the most user-friendly software that I have come across. The user interface is easy to work with and the results can be exported in excel and pdf format.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike as such. Only problem is the license has to be renewed yearly which I feel can be worked upon. Otherwise, IBM-SPSS is highly recommended.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used IBM-SPSS mainly for running statistical analysis

SPSS is great software for statistical analysis

  • January 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a very strong statistical tool that can be used for a large variety of tasks because it has many diverse functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
This software could use a bit more instructional material integrated - I frequently had to look at outside resources while learning to use the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are doing data analysis of survey data to demonstrate program effectiveness. SPSS allows for use of more complex tools and is relatively easy to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out the internet first when looking to learn this software.

Extensive but convoluted

  • January 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has a really extensive list of features.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to navigate. While it is able to do an incredible array of analytical tests and features, sometimes it's difficult to figure out where that test/feature is, and even once its location is found in the software, it can be difficult to figure out the proper way to run the test.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I conduct biomedical research. SPSS is able to analyze data from complicated experiments that involve multifactorial designs with hundreds, if not thousands, of datapoints. SPSS is versatile in the sense that its analytics are able to adapt to even the most unusual experimental designs.

Tables are nice, data could be displayed more clearly and efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is not too hard to learn for beginners if you have someone to help answer some questions along the way. I was lucky to have a course that gave me the basic information needed to use it in my PhD program. Definitely beats trying to use excel in most cases!
What do you dislike about the product?
The display of data could be more clear and efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS helps me analyze data for projects I have been working on in my PhD program. I mostly use it to analyze survey data, which SPSS is very helpful for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth the time to learn the program. I would recommend having a friend walk you through the basics or watching some of the videos.

SPSS gets the job done

  • January 06, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you know where to find what you need on SPSS, you can do most basic statistics.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's expensive, in a cost prohibitive way for students. It also can be slow when I upload or copy over data. It would also be nice if it made really nice looking data representations. I end up exporting data to another software to do my representations because SPSS does not "do it all."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS is fairly easy for new users, they can find what they need with little instruction.

IBM SPSS Statistics provides straightforward way to collect, analyze, and process complex data

  • January 05, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how robust the service is; it can be used for descriptive statistics, bivariate statistics (e.g. an ANOVA or t-test), or just to predict numerical outcomes through linear regression. I have used it both as a student, and as a research assistant in various labs, in fields as diverse as psychology, to anthropology, to medicine. Has wide applicability to many fields.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn't a dislike, per se, but there are so many features available on IBM SPSS that it can be overwhelming at times to know which is best to use and how to use it. However, this is really just a matter of committing the time to learn it all on my end, and not so much a deficiency of the service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving the problems of storing and analyzing very large sets of data in a secure and efficient way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A worthwhile investment for those who need a secure and reliable method to analyze large sets of data. The company offers a free trial as well, which makes it easy to give the service a try without committing monetarily. The pricing isn't bad either.

Statistics Made Simple

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's the most comprehensive statistical analysis software on the market. It is the easiest to use and most accurate.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is sometimes slow to load and takes up a lot of space on the computer hard drive. Not all components are used and should come with a lite version for some users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems being solved currently involve with SPSS is saving a lot of time. We no longer have to use old school calculation and analysis methods!

Easy for small projects

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy for small projects with a few groups and not any complex analysis. Gets a little more complicated when looking to do multivariate analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
Coding the data can be challenging and time consuming
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analyses for research studies involving animal subjects that are translational to clinical practice.

    Computer Software

Good solid statistical analysis tool

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is a solid statistical tool that has kept up with the times. I started using the solution around 1990 and it has been very useful when I needed statistical analysis breakdowns of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could use better web interface and the integration of the suite could be a little easier to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Detailed analysis of large data sets and merging multiple large data sets together to come up with unique and interesting conclusions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get training from friends and colleagues -- especially on the more advanced aspects of the software.

Try to use canned reporting first before you venture out on your own
