An invaluable tool that makes my job so much more efficient
What do you like best about the product?
The Davis AI gives us the ability to work on more meaningful work, rather than chasing down problem after problem. It also has drastically reduced our MTTR as well
What do you dislike about the product?
We feel that some of the pricing models should be adjusted. Both the custom metrics and synthetic monitoring (On-prem only checks) are quite high. For example - When we are doing Synthetic checks witin our own Datacenter, we should not be charged the same as when doing checks using Dynatrace datacenters around the world.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Incresed application performance. Decreased MTTR when problems come up. Determining Root cause analysis has been so much faster and more accurate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start small. Start using Dynatrace as a POC or on a smaller system (with real traffic). Seeing the tool work in your environment is like magic. You don't get the same feeling by seeing test data or screenshots, but your data being analyzed by Davis, then reporting a problem and determining the Root cause within minutes is amazing.

It is able to discover issues we would have never found with our previous tools.

It is so feature rich that taking advantage of all of them has been a challenge.

We are being alerted to issues before our customers are impacted.

Been using it from last 3 months. not found one yet. I am sure i will found some soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduce the incidents for our customer facing applications. Resolve the issues before they hit the customers. I would like to know the issues before my customer calls me.

Its great for large organizations
Brings visibility into to the full stack and allows us to scale with ease.

Ability to correlate all layers of the stack and determine root causes of problems.

There is no auto-discovery of batch applications and creating custom services is a bit clunky.

Finding scalability concerns and root cause analysis. The visibility Dynatrace provides allows us to make better decisions when deploying apps and configuring infrastructure.

What do you like best about the product?
We started our journey with Dynatrace 10 years back and from then there was no looking back on the information that was needed to support the production incidents and performance testing. We have interacted with multiple APM vendors and in my experience dynatrace was one stop shop for all performance engineering needs. We are looking forward to the new features that are being added to the product roadmap and how its going to revolutionize the Performance monitoring and AIOPS space.
What do you dislike about the product?
None. All Looks good. The product is going in the right direction.

instrumentation data is not retained for more than 30 days. Could be better to have historical data in place

Ability to narrow down and/or pin point issue related to application crash or performance issue
What do you dislike about the product?
ability to audit who made config changes in dynatrace envt and consolidate view on configuration of all hosts. every host has to be checked individually

Dynatrace will be tool of future which provides helps lower down MTTR in cloud and on-prem installs
Dynatrace is the future. Great product, vendor support, and easy interface. Overall, Great!

The ease of the interface, the assistance from the vendor. Great documentation and great implementation.

Currently they dont have much Hyper-V support. I would also like to see more involvement on the Citrix software
