Other people guess root cause, Dynatrace helps us to KNOW

  • February 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, the debugging features helps us to get right down to the root cause in just a few clicks. The deployment and self discovery of the environment and the support. Everything we do is undone without having great support and help to work problems if they occur. And the dynatrace folks actually listen when there are feature upgrades. They are constantly adding new features, updates and quickly fix the few bugs that occur
What do you dislike about the product?
Don't have any, they fix issues quickly and are making improvements so fast that any feature you're looking for is likely being thought of, or already on the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Determining and showing developers their performance to customers, and helping them solve problems faster.

Revolutionary Monitoring with Seamless Setup

  • February 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find the Grails data lakehouse to be a game changer. Having everything under one database really solves the issue of database conjoined and query parameters, period. Where else can you write a single query and hear and see the metrics related to that from infrastructure level to real user monitoring level?
What do you dislike about the product?
Database monitoring could improve. However, that is on the road map. Along with synthetic monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dynatrace to monitor our digital ecosystem and customer experiences, observe customers in real life, and alert on performance issues. This helps us review, analyze, and correct problems to prevent them from affecting others.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
cut down a some of the added costs

Trusted product over the years

  • February 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the user interface because it's easy to use Windows app. Capturing all traffic is important to me as you never know when you need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I heard that there are differences between the on-premise and SAAS version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to get end-to-end visibility and troubleshoot issues.

15 years in monitoring and Dynatrace tops all the vendors I have worked with

  • February 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
While most of the big vendors have spent their time trying to patch and upgrade their way to the needs of today, Dynatrace went back to the drawing board and created something special for today's needs. We have found the AI to be spot on with our environments. The OneAgent is an industry-leading approach to instrumentation, saving administrators time and allowing them to focus on things that matter. I have also never found a vendor with such a strong community backing it that is both extremely active and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are really not too many dislikes we have found with Dynatrace. I think the one thing that needs to improve is the ability to specific groups in terms of licensing consumption. This also includes the ability to set quotas for slices of the licensing pool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace has taken us from being reactive to proactive. The product has provided insight into things that we would have otherwise had no idea about. This in return allowed us to focus on those things before they became a problem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dynatrace is an outstanding partner for us and continues to improve weekly. They truly lead the way for complete 360 degree monitoring.

Implementation was easy.

  • December 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like it's so simple to get Dynatrace results which allow continuous services improvement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quota for custom metrics of Dynatrace can easily be eliminated and its transparency is not so obvious as the platform lacks one consumer report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace has helped us identify problems that have been hard to identify on our web services before. It is nice and helpful to be able to get to the transactions that took place during a period with a question.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not all technology versions are supported as usual. It is recommended to check the support matrix to make sure that your environment can be managed using Dynatrace.

Application insights using Dynatrace

  • December 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dynatrace is one of the best profiling tools especially for JVM. I used Dynatrace to analyze the thread dumps, identify hot areas of the code and also object locks and memory leaks
What do you dislike about the product?
Little expensive. The JVM profiling tools available with JDK now a days are close to that of Dynatrace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application and data base tuning.

Easy Implementation But Very Difficult To Navigate.

  • November 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to classify and correlate data into a single root cause in most cases across many different sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The curve of learning can be pretty steep and the interface is not intuitive. For a truly successful deployment, the training is essential. This tool is very difficult to navigate and can cause a problem if you do not use it constantly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We got a little Dynatrace deployment and it had to be installed a breeze. In a matter of hours, we were able to have this up and run and collect meaningful information. There is no comparison of information and it is quite reactive. In minutes we had been trying to figure out for weeks before, I could identify problems. The nomenclature and so on have a little bit of a learning curve. The term application and host are defined in a slightly different way. Once it is understood, nothing that cannot be overcome promptly. With it we're very pleased.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the learning and spend a while passing all it provides.
